    Awesome. Been wanting to see Proviso operations for a while. Did not realise until 15 mins ago you had already done one!

    Daryl , once again excellent video. The narration and the board detailing the movements really holds the interest in the "why" of this video. So often we watch train movements and that's it..we watch train movements and see what happens. The "why" adds so much more to the viewing enjoyment. Thank you for doing these ops videos.

    Thanks Daryl - Nice Video! On your old first railway that you started initially doing YT video's for, you did a Local train video - still love that one. Be nice to see a local running on this layout. In UK we get a lot of hub-2-hub trains, but not - because truks can run them more effectively over such short distances - locals these days. Thanks!

    Another great video. I'm glad you went through it in real time vice speeding up the video, learned a lot more that way as I'm in the process of designing my main yard and I picked up a few tips and ideas from your operations. Thx

    I am now watching this video. I have seen your other videos as well. I’m an N scaler myself which is in the process of getting my layout started. I have made 2 railroad water towers & a town water tower from scratch. I used 2 empty skin Creme containers, masking tape, Elmer’s glue & bue & yellow construction paper for the town water tower. The 2 railroad water towers I made from half inch dowels & empty Progresso soup cans for the railroad water towers & flex straws for the water spouts. I’ll be making ladders for them & will paint them once I fashion a roof for the water towers. I’m also scratch building a passenger train station & covered walkway along the tracks, making it look as closely as I can make like the Santa Barbara Amtrak station for my Pacific West Coast Railroad. I already have 2 passenger trains, a Kato N scale Amtrak Superliner that is the Coast Starlight & the steam powered Southern Pacific Morning Daylight which is a Kato set, that is my excursion train. My setup I’m in the process of setting up is to cover from the San Diego Metro area all the way up to Vancouver,BC,Canada.

    I love the look of your yard. I don't suppose you've got a detailed track plan with labels for the yard itself? I saw you posted toyour blog an overall schematic but I'd love to see something zoomed in to the schematic of the yard.

    Yes, the push-pull trains have the locomotive facing out from the station. If it was the other way, you would be wasting platform space, and diesel fumes and noise right at the station lobby

    you got the METRA right Daryl according to Dan at the Utah State Railroad Museum it is Cab Car/Cab Locomotive coming in to Union Station Locomotive coming out to Delkob or in your case Wheaton. So you go that right only thing wrong is METRA uses EMD F40s they are starting to convert them to MP36s but MP36s are used the North Line they are not used on the Geneva Sub except in several sections where METRA branches off to serve the other the stations in their network.

    Daryl, Nicely done, 2 yard crews working in unison can really get trains broken down and resorted in quick time. I like the way you make use of the white board to keep track of the trains and when they are due to depart.. Does the Computer issue a new print out for the yard crew to sort the cars every day. Also once a train is made up do you have to tell the computer the make up of the train, so it knows what the trains consist is and where the train is going or coming from? Many Thanks, Cheers, Chris Perry.

    Very nice vid as always. Two questions: 1. How do you remember which trains are in the arrival/departure tracks? 2. Is it an optical illusion or does the mainline dip lower along the yard?

      At one point he shows a board with magnetic bars that have the symbols on them. He puts them on the appropriate line for the track it's on.

      CP368 Productions Ya, but I didn’t see a place representing the arrival and departure tracks. I’ll have to watch again maybe I missed it.

    I’ m no stranger to switching scales over the years but I don’t know what your reason is, comparing the two scales, you should have stayed with the n-scale. So much more going for it. But that’s my opinion and if your happy, that’s all that matters.Too late now. Enjoy. 👽

    • @EvanstonSub
      @EvanstonSub  2 роки тому

      Correct. Your statement should be "I would have stayed with N scale" instead of "you should have stayed with the n-scale."
