- A Celebration Overture
James Swearingen
Released: 1995
Grade: 1½
Performance Time: 3:22
An outstanding work for the youngest players by the master young band composer, James Swearingen. Ranges are modest (the clarinet parts don’t even go above the break) and it’s playable with smaller groups, but the unmistakable Swearingen touch is evident throughout. Perfect for any young band performance situation, it will be a cause for “celebration” when your young band gets to play this appealing composition. TOTALLY FIRST RATE!

Some parts sound like Cimmaron by Larry Clark
Oh. my. god. Oboe part is soooo boring. I swear i have like 40 full measures of rests and I dont play at either of the fermatas. Its like they gave up and gave oboe extra leftover/backup parts.
I KNOW RIGHT!!!
