That is what I’m taking about. My 2016 Powerwagon has the 66RFE and had a 68RFE in a 2018 2500 Cummins. Both great, tall ratios but smooth and durable. But having a ZF 8HP70 in the Hemi’s and now a ZF 8AT in the Cummins is gonna be just fantastic. Gonna really open up that Cummins. Thank you for all the news, updates and opinions on all the new stuff coming out!
@@braddenr.4778 agree 100% on all points. Glad ypu are enjoying the vids
i have owned Rams, Fords, Chevys and driven Toyotas as part of work. by far Ram for me, is the best truck. I like the tradesman packages single cab not a lot of digital dash, i like traditional gauges that i can replace individually IF they fail. a digital media unit i am ok with as it also can be replaced on a individual basis. too much tech means the same thing too much power means, it means failure comes sooner. it is the law of the automotive universe. more tech means more failure means more down time means less value for money
agree on every point
The Current high output has the Aisin transmission not a zF, the 6.4 has a zf behind it currently.
@@Alloutdrs1 thanks
Yep. And the standard output has the ZF68RFE or something like that
68rfe....no ZF in front. 68rfe is a Chrysler built transmission @@Drg24800
5.7 hemi has 8 speed ZF as well
Love Ram HD, hate the shift knob.
Agree on both
Had a '22 1500 for 2.5 years, shift knob was great. I also don't miss it haha.
My Volvo truck flips out when it detects school zone speed limit signs when they aren’t active, speed limit signs on the service road and other speed warning signs that aren’t actual signs. These things still aren’t ready.
exactly, and the speed warnings do not detect on the ground issues that changed that very moment, where you are driving. BUT, my waze does that with driver input and gives me the option to be cautious, slow down etc. We don’t need this tech bolted on the vehicles, when an app already does it
I will drive my 1972 f100 pickup till the day I die. It is my daily driver
@grimmjusten amazing and outstanding! Love this.
also, there is no guarantee your premium will be lower, why, premiums are not only based on accidents, they are based on claims.. claims are not always accidents, theft is a claim, parking lot damage, hail damage, etc. The fact they are luring people to get on board selling a false claim it would lower premiums. Call your insurance company and see, there are so many other factors that lower insurance like ‘paid for, vs financed’ the most stuff they bolt onto your car the more expensive it is, the more your insurance will have to cover, the higher your claim.
true
10 sec 0-60 actually sounds pretty good compared to my 2.4 4 cyl Liberty. 85 mph flat top speed. Hit 95 down a hill with a tailwind once.
Love the little liberty suvs. Priced well and run a long time.
All good for the “components” (engine and transmission) but the problem is almost never with those but the “surrounding” parts. Electrical wiring, harnesses, computer modules, fuel, oil and water pumps. You can have the most reliable engine and transmission of the world in there but if you use the cheapest Engine Control Unit on the market then your truck still might not start in the morning. Also, if Quality Control is lacking when putting together those million-mile capable parts then you will have a final assembly that only lasts a hundred thousand miles.
True with all vehicles. Personally I trust ram to do better quality control than many others right now
Turbos need to be warranted for 200,000 miles
Agree. Would help people feel more comfortable about them
That will definitely never happen lol.
Wouldn't be surprised if the diesel warranty mileage does DOWN eventually.
there is a reason they are not warranted for 200,000 a warranty is supposed to be a seller’s guarantee to replace if it fails before that time. they fail before 200,000. can they make them last longer? yes, but at what cost. plenty of aftermarket turbos outlast OEM turbos.
My guess is the 6.7 gasoline Cummins is eventually going to replace the standard output diesel Cummins and potentially the 6.4 Hemi. The different output for the chassis cabs doesn't surprise me at all. They are often used as fleet vehicles and let me tell you as a guy that managed a 15 vehicle fleet. Guys beat up vehicles they have no ownership in.
As far as antispeeding tech goes I think its inevitable. As mentioned earlier I have spent two decades in the logistics industry so I spend a lot if time on the roads. The amount of drivers I see going 20+mph faster than the pace of traffic has gone up dramatically. Speed differential really is rhe biggest killer. The libertarian in me hates this but people generally have less respect for the safety of others than in the past. Blame the moral rot of the West.
All great points. As a guy who has averaged 40k miles a year for the last 26 years I spend alot of time on the highway and agree 100% with you. People are horrible drivers today.
I was totally against driving restrictions until I see the majority of drivers who never put their phones down. People literally watch movies while traveling not really driving and the increased fatal accidents has supported this. People should have taught their children there are consequences to their actions.
Society as a whole didn't so we lose driving freedom.
Anti speed tech: I'm not a fan of being controlled but I would like the speed change warning for sure. If it is forced on me then make it for excessive speeding like 15mph and I'm fine with it being enabled on every startup as long as I get an insurance deduction. Just give me a button to disable it like my auto start stop button disable.
Slowest cars: They're economy cars, did we expect anything different?
Ram: I do like the new Cummins engine and transmission combo. I hope that streamlining the build process helps keep price down. I trust they will do this right. I never expected the Hemi to go away or the Hurricane to be put in a HD truck because I don't believe it's up to the duty cycle. The only thing not being changed is the cab, so what? I'm NOT a fan of trying to fix what isn't broken. Everybody loved the old 4runner for this very reason.
@@Scroll_Lock well said and agree with all points
ISA doesn't work. It'll pick up the yellow signs and say you're speeding all the time. Truck drivers are the test dummies for all these bs systems, way before the public gets their hands on it.
I didn't know they were making a HD Ram that is EV. All I knew about had engines.
ISA - All the more reason to keep my old truck.
nope. At the least you failed to keep your fellow motorist from not putting their phone down while driving. At worst you are one who never does. Thus everyone loses the pleasure of driving with minimal restriction.
@@davidporter7051 who said anything about using the phone while driving?
@@tacomafan5186 you said all the reason to keep your old truck. You and everyone will lose the privilege of driving because either A you can't put your phone down or B you allow everyone else to not put their phone down.
@@davidporter7051 ISA - Intelligent Speeding Assist….please tell me what in the world that has to do with the phone????
For the record I only use hands free Bluetooth calling when I do use the phone.
@@tacomafan5186 if I need to explain what that ISA has to do with the distraction you use when you should be driving this discussion isn't worth my time. Respectfully.
waze does that, this is all soft sale for upcoming remote engine kill switches
so tired of the tech and abuse of our privacy
I’d hate the anti speeding technology!
Agree
Comment for publicity 👍
If it comes with anti speed tech, I bet Z Automotive will figure a way to remove it 😂
@@wolf-bv6lg love z auto and my tazer
speed limiter = floor it all the time
🤣
First of all those tech things on speed are already in vehicles with higher trim levels. My 18 Camaro ZL1 had it even. So these cheap ass cars are now going to cost more and then people with bitch about that. And the surveys are probably people that obviously drive slow. This is first step to limiting your vehicles physically. Ford even says it bottom of article. Then we will get speeding tickets in the mail based on a GPS flagged to police. Not to mention the subscription it will take to keep vehicle updated to latest information to use for these options, that will eventually be used against you. How about some tech to keep people actually going the speed limit and not blocking the fast lane!!
Fantastic points
Manufacturers need to recognize that the middle class is poor now. Do away with options. All equipment that they offer should be standard equipment in every vehicle. We can't buy $100,000 vehicles. Prices need to be half that to even be considered for 90% of people now.

I don’t know where you found the data, but subjectively, nowhere near 90% of hotshotters are in Rams. I see plenty of Fords & GM products with hotshot signage on the doors, pulling all kinds of loads.
Was a statistic from ram fleet services that a hotshot trucking channel posted back when I was researching my 2019 ram cummins. it was not subjective it was fact. otherwise I would not of said it.
So do you want data or anecdotes?
@@Jason-Samko Okay, I’m not attacking you. I meant to pose it as a question.
From what I've seen, yeah, most hotshotters are Ram Cummins, quite a lot are duallys. .
See a LOT of Ford work trucks (like with the bed swapped out), and especially big utility trucks in F550+ size.
Chevy's are often "basic" work trucks, like painters and plumbers that have toolboxes in the factory bed. GMCs are pretty rare outside of personal vehicles.
Speaking of personal vehicles, I see a lot of Ram 1500s and F150s, not a whole lot of Silverados and Sierras (though both combined is somewhat close to the number of Fords and Rams).
Then I see quite a few Ford 250s and 350s (mostly the former) personal vehicles, somewhat less Chevy HDs, and very few Ram and GMC HDs. And the Rams I see are older (like pre 2019), whereas the Fords I see are newer (2020+).
@@SliderFury1 good insite and Info. Thanks
I hate this big brother in my vehicles or in my private life!!! The industry is already in trouble and this will make it worse.
