The left always has this infighting rendering them ineffective most of the time. The right has infighting too but more on leadership, while the left always is divided on different tiers progressiveness, we share the solidarity that the right lacks but when it comes push to shove the right will stand like a solid concrete block not budging, as the left is heading in all kinds of directions.

I think 'infighting' on the left is pretty fundamental, I don't think we can ever fully escape it. Just because the media is shit does not mean that Trump is not. He is. He politicized a fucking virus and the most basic bitch solutions to limiting the effects of that virus because he was a fucking moron and got rid of the institutions in place that were there to handle such a thing. He destroyed all discourse in this country and divided us for generations. He made being an asshole something people were proud of. That's not to mention that he continued the warmongering we both have an issue with, made global warming worse, reduced quality of air and water for millions of people, separated families by keeping kids in cages (I am aware Obama built those cages and Biden is currently using them though for different reasons). I don't care if he's a racist or not (though he has absolute enabled racists to be more vocal and active; look up hate crimes against Asian-Americans). I don't care if you can technically classify him as a fascist or not (he just hit a lot of those checkboxes and again enabled real fascists). I care about the effect he's had on people and our country, and it's not been good. I'm aware that he benefitted from the upward trend in GDP and a slightly better unemployment rate than Obama. I'm aware the stock market went up under him (as it trends upward pretty much all the time). He was not terrible in every way. But I'll be goddamned if he wasn't still terrible. I've been watching both of you guys for a long time. As a steadfast lefty, I was unconvinced by your initial arguments to vote for Biden. It got me heated and I ended up eventually unsubscribing. But I've always been a pragmatist, and when I watched one of Vaush's videos on the subject, where he went into great detail about the contrast between Biden and Trump on climate change and fascism, and the real-world, long-term implications of various other policies... I came around and resubbed. I can't say I like Biden. I honestly don't. But my motive has never been to be a contrarian, to make false equivocations, or to wittingly miss the forest for the trees. It's to meaningfully change the world for the better. I don't agree with much of Biden's politics, but I do see a broader picture, and how he fits into that, even if I would consider voting for him almost strictly an act of harm-reduction. I was Bernie or bust because I legitimately, deep down, did not believe that it would be possible to make the country better under Biden. I'd say I have a much more nuanced view of politics now. Radical change is what I want, but incrementalism isn't something I'd so easily toss out like a dirty diaper anymore.
There is NO contrast between Biden and Trump on climate change. lol Seriously, WTF are you smoking dude? I have an interest in social matters and like to think that I construct well informed opinions on political and societal issues. Each time I watch Vaush, my mind gets blown. He is one of the most intelligent people online and I highly recommend everyone check out his takes. They are filled with humour, extremely intuitive and well informed takes on human rights, personality types, political perspectives, anxiety and fear, also mental health issues. As you can see in this video, he has some well refined speaking/engaging skills, persuading skills and listening skills and we’re very lucky to have him on the left. We need him now more than ever. Spread the word.
Generally agree he is good on social issues. However, he sometimes promotes baseless and dangerous conspiracy theories. For example, he said that Israel is eagerly waiting to genocide all Palestinians, and if it was up to him there wouldn't be Jews in Palestine. Plus, he uses the word "fascist" way too often and way too liberally and it just loses any meaning.
I completely agree. I was new to his content weeks before the election, but I'd be happy to recommend him to anybody if i could. A few of his takes on certain issues can be wrongheaded and we should be quick to point them out. But they seem so small in comparison to all his other good takes that they might as well be nitpicks. Overall, he's very knowledgeable, light on his feet while streaming, and he's a great poster boy for the Left. We do need more like him but his streaming talents are unmatched, unfortunately.
The nice thing about Socialists and Social Democrats is that we generally agree with each other on the broadstrokes of how things should be, and its the more nuanced details that we disagree on, which makes it better for both of us to open up a popular front and work together against a common opponent in the far right wing of the country as they try to consolidate power.

The idea that a socialist state imposing democracy in the workplace is somehow more authoritarian than a capitalist state imposing tyranny in the workplace is lost on me...
Socialism and Authoritarian systems in general have a nasty habit of turning tyrannical very quickly. Too much power in one persons hand with little to no accountability. Soviet History is filled with that kind of stuff. Socialist states are usually similar but in my opinion can more often be saved than the Commie states. Might have to do with the differences between them or something. Like Venezuela, I believe they can be saved. But if they were commie, then I don't think anything beyond total collapse or a revolution could save them then. Let it die and move on, or force it to change. Comes down to how desperate the people are.
@Joey.....” Like Venezuela, I believe they can be saved.” What do you mean by “saved?” The Venezuelan people disagree with you. Maduro pissed off America because he wanted to nationalize Venezuela’s oil reserves.......real socialists are supporting this effort. I think 'infighting' on the left is pretty fundamental, I don't think we can ever fully escape it. An ideology based upon progress rather than stagnation is by definition going to have many different 'flavours' and degrees of progress. Conservative and neoliberal ideology has a kind of efficacy that leftism can't take of advantage of. Its a pretty grim reality but I guess we just gotta work twice as hard to achieve our goals.

Pathetic Political games, all of congress should be kicked out for even considering such a thing. Worthless bastards the lot of them.
@@joeyginise6051 Look buddy, I spent four years gaslighting myself that Trump wasn't everything I was afraid he would be. I saw what the media did with the Iraq War and anybody who even remotely tried to put in policies that would help people. They're awful liars who have no incentive but to make money through sensationalism and propping up the power structures in the United States. I recognize all of this and still have to come to the conclusion that Donald J. Trump was a threat to the very existence of the United States.
Just because the media is shit does not mean that Trump is not. He is. He politicized a fucking virus and the most basic bitch solutions to limiting the effects of that virus because he was a fucking moron and got rid of the institutions in place that were there to handle such a thing. He had an allergic reaction to any hard truths about himself, and would never admit fault to anything. He conjured up an immense distrust in the foundation of our democracy because he couldn't handle losing to a useless piece of shit like Biden, and then when people reacted in what is actually a very logical way to hearing that their country had been stolen, he threw them under the bus while still maintaining that the basis of the insurrection was true.
Biden isn't fomenting civil war. I'm done gaslighting myself that Trump was just another Republican president.

This is a valuable guest. Please have him on more often
Ok well this was highly unexpected... David Liberal Pakman and Vaush...I'm hyped!!
Vaush is a liberal too... he’s a Destiny boy
@@cezarcatalin1406 Vaush is an anarcho-syndicalist.
I wouldn't call Pakman a liberal.
At least not in the American sense. Because he (and Vaush too) certainly has very liberal views on certain issues. Many liberal viewpoints are independent, social, and with few sensible restrictions. In return, many socialist positions are very liberal. Depending on the topic and the circumstances. There is no general recipe. This binary approach, so widespread in America, is often too simplistic.
@@radiatormike anarcho-bidenist actually, get it together buddy
@@benschmitt7035 Not anymore.
Fact to keep in mind; The idea that society should function to benefit a few people at the expense of the remainder of society; is just plain damn stupid !
Great convo! Love to see the engagement. Together, we will beat these fascists back into the pits they crawled from
Why is everything always titled “URGENT”?
Manipulation
Yes he likes to lead with drama
😄
The clickbait is real. Vaush does it a bit too. :/
Pakman is the master of clickbait titles
Thank you for introducing Vaush to your audience, David. I've been a fan of both of you for some time now and it's a pleasure seeing you too collaborate.
Me two.
I'd always heard of Vaush, but hadn't ever heard him. He's great; I'm a new subscriber for him, after several years with you, David.
welcome comrade
This is what we need more of;
An honest conversation about complex issues.
Big fan of you both.
AYYY HE HAD THE MAN ON
YAY!! Two of my favorite political minds!! David's strength is guiding the conversation and Vaush explains things so clearly! Well done guys!
I love my parents having a civilized discussion about socialism.
Are these your two daddies?
YOOOO vaush on pakman that's pretty hype as a fellow left wing libertarian close to socialism
fuck yeah!
You are a left wing libertarian but not a socialist? What system do you propose then?
A decent and civil discussion of ideas is so heart warming. Thank you to both of you.
Good glob this should have been a 4 hour conversation. Pakman, talk to Vaush more please. This was excellent.
Really like this Vaush dudes reasoning I have to say! He's a real thinker
I like how Pakman immediately raises the level of conversations he's in. One of the reasons why I listen to him despite him not being as left leaning as I am.
Hell yeah! Vaush is based and epic. Love the interview, David!
Thank you for the discussion and introducing me to Vaush. Will be interested to check out some of his content.
his debates are amazin
I can just see DPak practicing on the mirror... "Vaush... Voosh... Vuash... Vowsh... Vaush"
My favorite milktoast SocDem and my favorite edgy Anarcho-Socialist in one place!!
"Milquetoast" brotha
@@-boost- milktoast sounds like a delicious pastry
@@miggydoms I want a delicious pastry 🥐😋
HOW did I miss this?!? David and Vaush are my favorite thinkers on the left for succinctly reasoned opinion. They’re legitimately the only forces in the LeftTube sphere who could take each other on. Please have Vaush on again to discuss some topics.
I miss having civil conversations with like minded people, very wholesome.
@Joey.....” Like Venezuela, I believe they can be saved.”
What do you mean by “saved?”
The Venezuelan people disagree with you.
Maduro pissed off America because he wanted to nationalize Venezuela’s oil reserves.......real socialists are supporting this effort.
Privatization and extremely harsh sanctions, which WE put onto the Venezuelan people, is why they are in such dire straits economically.
I have no idea why this fact always gets overlooked by supposed “leftists” online...🤷♂️
@@anderseckstrand7033 Thank you for making the response that I didn’t want to lol. I don’t try anymore.
Well under capitalism, you are free to establish a cooperative.
