My mother used to deep-fry everything and feed us sugary/fatty snack and then was upset when we put on a few lbs. She became really abusive, almost taking food out of our mouths. I remember being so confused, angry and hungry. Later I realised she had an eating disorder which unfortunately she passed on to us children. Finally 3 years ago and in my 50s I discovered WFPB eating by chance and I've become healthy and slim, I look better than ever and enjoy wearing clothes, I so enjoy my WFPB food and making simple meals in batches. It is so important for parents to educate themselves and give good examples when it comes to food as eating disorders/obesity can affect all aspects of your life, from relationships to work, from the way you look/dress/come across to health.

Don't blame your mental illnesses and failures in life on your mother lol take some responsibility. But if you're an ill woman in her 50s it doesn't really matter what you do lol ngaf. Time to drink some more wine and buy another cat.

this is a topic Dr. Barnard has called out as a problem to be seen in the future long long ago and now the physician's committee is on top of it! Awesome :)

A family member works for a investment firm and was tasked with investing in companies that are involved with childhood diabetes medication. Now it all makes total sense.

I work in school where snacks consistent of wheat and sugar products that increase inflammation. More and more young people being affected. Better more holistic approach should consider functional nutrition and more holistic approach to good products

I love listening to Dr. Rahman! She shares information with a calm conviction that makes one want to sit up and listen. My family enjoys her cookbook, as well.

The problem with all of this is, giving Dr's permission to give little kids more and more drugs. Where they should be focused on giving the families the education they need to help their children be healthy.
Like suggesting instead of 1600-2200 a month on meds.
Spen that much a month on fruits and veggies and let the kid eat all they want!!
Hopefully this type of info that is put out on the internet will reach people who are not educated in nutrition, to start to learn more and be a healthy example for their child.

Correct. However, they don't make money that way. You need to research and care for yourself. Get out of the system.

Most doctors are legal pill pushers! They don't learn nutrition in medical school and only learn to prescribe pills...... Lifestyle medicine is the only safe medicine. Eat plants!!!

This is such a sad video! What is wrong with our country that people feel surgery and medications are better for children than guidance and discipline? Look at the parents and that will probably answer the question. The SAD diet is destroying this country..

I have seen situations whereby a mother is lean and fit but her children and spouse are obese that it makes me wonder whether some parents do not even try to guide their loved ones onto a healthy path.

McDonald’s was the standard in elementary school food program when I grew up. Of course I became a diabetic from this cause that’s all I wanted starting from 5 years old. Got into wfpbd when I became 50 and reversed the diabetes. Thanks to our country’s school system they taught me capitalism starts with our bodies

It is so hard for me as an adult to resist junk food if surrounded by it - how much harder must it be for kids. My kids are surrounded by junk food wherever they go (sports, youth group, etc.). It's almost impossible to eat healthy when going out to eat.

I feel that deforestation has led to the decline of biodiversity and rise of fast food - because people aren't going into hte wild anymore - so they live in urban areas - and urbanization is what comes of it.

Can you explain this paradox? Why is obesity increasing in children, but there are children not getting enough food.

    • @kate60
      @kate60 Рік тому +1

They are eating processed chemical nonfood. Lots of calories with no nutrition. There is enough food for everyone. Health requires Veg, Fruit, Beans, Grains and lots of water. Sleep and get some movement. No one needs snacks or sugar foods or soda. Eat food as grown.

Why do you dear Americans eat junk food and you don't know how to prepare a healthy meal? Nowhere in the peaceful world is like here..unfortunately the SAD diet spreads so fast..

    • @kate60

Junk makes money. Medication makes money. Surgery makes money. That is the issue.
Eat food as grown. Nothing with a label. Delicious veg, fruit, beans, rice, pasta. All cheap ingredients that are easy to prepare. The truth has become crazy to insane people.

It's spreading everywhere, UK, France, Italy, obesity & junk food are the new normal, being lean and trim is virtually unknown in the UK, it is normal to consider chubby "slim" and not politically correct to call a spade a spade

My God, operating and drugs on a child for weight reduction is almost as bad as operating on a child for gender change. Kids need to put down their video cames and phones and get more physically active.
