The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
These are the types of videos ABT needs to make more of. Speaking of more, we welcome more of Chris M.
God bless the ABT for not playing politics with preservation lately like everyone else 🙏
Thanks for all you do
I was there just a few weeks ago. I couldn’t believe how much new housing and traffic was so close to where the battles took place. It made the driving tour a little difficult to figure out. Because it was later in the day, when most people were trying to go home and the traffic flow was becoming annoying and clustered, I decided to postpone taking the driving tour for this battle. Hopefully ABT is able to obtain and preserve more of wherever battles like these took place.
Thank you Chris. Amazing it’s not saved. Appreciate your dedication to the American Battle Field Trust. 💕👊👍💯
There already so many people in that area it's sickening we loved from there and there's been homes built for decades and it is like Manassas and Fairfax already to late
Thank you
Hidden gem, up off the main road. Nice area.....
Ditto from Australia
Thank you mate
Thank you!!!!
Amen to that.
I was there a few months ago for the first time. Was saddened to see all the development around it. Lots of traffic in that area. The GPS had a hard time finding the entry point. At the top of Lee's Hill is a house pretty close to the historical markers. Nice place but needs help to make sure it doesn't get overran more than it already has.
✌️
They came up under a flag of truce and spied on Early's defenses. Very dishonorable. Then Wilcox came up with his brigade and slowed Sedgwick down until Lee could send help and Early regrouped to drive Sedgwick across the Rappahanock.
“Ditto”
Please save historical battlegrounds so that rich yuppies may never settle a home or worse corporations lay claim over a hallowed ground that they care nothing about
Only the battlefields that the US Park Service own are protected. All the land surrounding Chancellorsville, Wilderness, Spotsylvanila Courthouse are open for development. It's really getting developed around Mayres Heights, west and south of it.
Nobody learns from any mistakes if you make history disappear
Amen to that.
