How to perform Judgement Cut
R1 + ↓ + □
Lockdown + back or forward + Square (PS controller)
Lockdown + back or forward + X (xbox controller)
Pros:
It's Vergil
Cons:
The Mod is buggy since it's the boss Vergil not an actual playable character.
He can only walk straight or forward if there are enemies on screen. Once you kill all enemies he will walk in only one direction make it hard to control.
Limited move set, as you can see on top.
Vergil has block button once you press the block button he will wait for Dante to hit him and will be stuck forever.
Sometimes sword dissapears.
Only playable at some levels with Nero, if you try with other heroes it wont work and dont try to use for final fight. It will freeze the game on Vergil
I love the sound effect of judgement cut.
I like it better in dmc3, it sounds like the space around the cut is being manipulated and then the slashing noise comes after

Try watching it again at 0.25x speed, he actually draws his sword and puts it back in a flash, and that blue sphere animation is actually aftershock caused by that burst of speed.
I think there's also definitely some weird space/warp stuff going on based on the sound effects and the the Yamato's power
The yamato can slice through dimensions and that localized orb of destruction is the result of Vergil's mastery over the blade. Dante has his own version of Judgement Cut in Dmc4 called Slash Dimension but since he lacks his brother's precision, it's just a wild and inaccurate barrage of slashes instead
Fun fact: Yamato (Aka. Vergil's Katana) is so sharp that, it's actually able to cut through the pillar of time and space itself. According to this information, Vergil is not just cutting down his enemies, but also the time and space they're existing in with each slice. So theorically speaking, even if you survive after getting a single cut wound from vergil's Yamato, you do not exist in what we call "reality" becouse you don't belong to any time and space in not just the universe we know, but also ANY possible parallel universe that ever exist anymore. Which is a curse indeed, that is most likely worse than losing your life or your soul.
Vergil is not cutting you out.
He erases your very existence from the earth.
Hope now you can understand where his "attitude" is coming from.
There's a lot of ways to interpret how the attack works based on conflicting info sources. The way I see it is that the blade's ability to cut space-time makes it so that the cuts will manifest wherever Virgil simply wills them to. When he "charges up" for Judgment Cut End, he's not only channeling power, but meditating a vision of every area he's going to strike. When the technique (and the power to propel it) is unleashed, the blade's force is applied to all areas focused on by the user at once. Quantum juxtaposition.
There was some math and calculations back in the day about how fast he swings his blade in dmc3.
He actually pulls the Yamato out of the sheath strikes with it and puts it back into the sheath all faster than a blink of an eye, or possibly even faster than the speed of light because when he uses judgement cut end you can't see him at all.
Maybe griffons last words about god speed were a reference to that
He needs his own playable story part in the game.

No dude, the DMC 1 horizontal slash was where it’s at. I loved how the flame effect looked and sounded, also the fact I could easily dodge it.

I hope Vergil has his own Campaign perhaps before DMC 5 or when him and Dante have to destroy the Qliphoth.
Better yet, Vergil fully embraces his humanity and gains Devil Sword Vergil and he and his brother fight through Hell to return to the human world.
Prior to dmc 5 would be impossible since he wouldn't have the yamato as much as i would love it.
Him and his bro rampaging through hell and destroying mundus once again would be spectacular.

This is boss Vergil it is very glitchy and he can only perform 2 3 moves only. Wish he could perform Judgement Cut End or even multiple Judgement Cut slashes.

It is already confirmed that he will not be a playable character.
Personally I think we're witnessing the end of the franchise. DMC5 is already devoid of its characteristic eastern style, everything about this game from dialogues to plot and graphics seems to be "westernized" and designed to be appealing to a wider audience.
Introducing Nero to DMC4 as the main character has (among other issues) already alienated the more loyal part of the fanbase. After the DmC fiasco with Donte being even more lacking in the character department than DMC4's Nero I really doubt that the people who played previous entries make up even a 1% of the total player count of DMC5.
DMC5 may be a good game by itself but it's a terrible, terrible sequel in nearly every aspect.
