    This guy just broke it off at ground level. With some finesse you can get the root and the vine.

      Agreed. And even then. Pulling that specific root out of the ground doesn’t mean you got rid of it. You’d have to find the mother plant.

    A lot of them also have a leaflet in the middle whose stem is longer than the two at the base. The stem of the middle leaflet of mature plants is harder to see because the leaves are bigger and rounder
    It’s almost like a human in that a human has a neck

    Did he really just tell me to use a bag to get rid of it? I thought he had some helpful advise.

      Use Vinegar+Water in ratio of 20:80, spray it on the poison ivy, leave it for a day and check next day.

    I'm sorry but the part about the plastic bag is bad advice. Plastic bags orphan and easily get holes in them which could easily expose someone's hands to the poison Ivy. Much better to use gloves, long sleeves and definitely long pants.
