Eric I cannot thank you enough for your help with me. I always think of you when I do plants now and it makes me work harder to do things right. I have a long way to go but I am getting better.
I've watched a bunch of "identify poison ivy" videos and tried to apply it to the woods near our house. This was the best! (But I'm still struggling a little with the box elder).
Yeah it is definitely necessary with poison ivy. I have had beginning students think it makes good fire tinder before. I am thankful they came to class so i could help them with that.
Thank you, sharing this because I am always asked...hard to describe! Was told when I was in scouts 'Leaves of three, leave it be'.
You are welcome.
Great work. You are right. There’s so many three leaf plants out there.

Making a wash with Black Walnut leaves will help stop the itching and break down the urishorol oils down quicker..
Great video! Important to know. Thanks sir!
I was looking for the jewelweed.....!!! great show...!!!
It was actually behind where Jennifer was filming. We should have showed it to.
What about poison oak, poison sumac, and other plants which do - or have a high propensity to - cause contact dermatitis?
We decided to do another video with various problematic plants, and then do another one with vines. Stay tuned.
Any plant in the toxicodendron family will hurt ya, Sumac is the worse of it though from what i've seen on people..
A cool wash from Black Walnut leaves will help break down the urushiol oil and relieve itching from poison vines..
Amazing video ❤ Thank you 🙏
You are welcome! 🤗
Good idea.
Do you have any recommendations for an identification book(s)?
Found this while searching for an image that I’m now pretty sure was just a young hickory. 😊
In New England we say : " Leaves of three, let it be. " We are an odd lot.
You can miss a lot of fantastic edible and medicinal plants that way.
Leaves of 3 leave them be...
