Honestly first thing that made me want to subscribe is that there's no loud cringy dubstep background music. Also, the pace of the talk is so easy to listen to and I understood everything! I'm making my first logos and this is my favourite channel from now on. Bird chirping is so calming!
Honestly, one of the most clean tutorials i've seen. I'm no expert or anything, but your tutorial is in self, an inspiration to experiment and to just enjoy the process along the way. With this i found a lot of ways to use the tools provided. Thank you good sir :)
I was trying this technique and learned using values to mathematically imitate this 1st square - 560 px 2nd square - 350 px 3rd square - 210 px 4th square - 140px 5th square - 70px Use these values for the circles and align them
Amazing tutorial. I've been looking for someone to explain this process for a long time. Most of the videos of this on youtube, are time lapsed videos with no explanation. Thank you.
I am speechless, as i only have experience of illustrator 6 months, sir you have made me mind blown, now i am thinking how many years will i need to achieve this level,, well done
Now this is it! While other tutorials provide quick sketch using those golden ratio circles, you explained in details about the design process. It is really helpful!
today is my first day in design but my teacher once said about this spirl(golden circle in the computing intro class teaching the concept of fibonacci sequence) i love the way how you teach the basis and core of the golden ratio
Love this Tutorial Sir.... I'm also a designer.... i have seen so many logos designed using these circles but i didn't understand how to use these circles for designing a logo but your tutorial made me to understand. It just perfect Sir. Thank you for Sharing. :)
This reminds me of the circle stencils I had as a child and teenager. I used them to design on paper of what we now call fonts and other stuff. This is very helpful with creating design.
Hi Mohamed, I am a video editor and motion graphics animator who is trying to develop better design acumen. I stumbled across this tutorial and for the FIRST time I have understood how to use the golden ratios. Very excellent demonstration. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Mohamed, that's a great job you do and I really appreciate sharing it with us. I'm an IT student and I love designing. Now I started learning Illustrator instead of using Photoshop because of you so THANK YOU.
The robot voice almost made me click away from the video, but something kept me watching... and I'm glad I did. I'm a graphic design student, and I haven't been able to understand the golden ratio concept yet, but something about this video showing the process of you making the golden ratio from scratch and applying it to the logo helped me understand better. So thank you! Thank you for creating this video from your jungle computer haha
@Shroom King This tutorial is about using the circles in YOUR OWN ART, the turtle is just an example, he also shows coloring layering and tools techniques, PICK UP your brain before commenting...
This blew out my mind. It's so weird that the universal concept of beauty can be summarized using a ratio. I'm not an artist nor designer (I'm more into science) but this is truly fascinating
This video is excellent. You start from the very basic and go all the way trough the process. You are an excellent master. Wish I had found this video weeks ago would have saved me alot of time and pain.
In the name of the whole watchers UA-cam students from the MA channel, I'm honored to give you the mention with THE OUTSTANDING GENEROSITY ALPHA PROFESSOR for your Illustrator teachings and contribution to the general UA-camrs public.
Exactly! In Fibonacci sequence ratio between two selected squares is close to 1,618 but not exactly it. Can be smaller, can be bigger. In GR it is constant. But from point of view of building a fast grid in AI, indeed, is simplest way.
Don't you think it would be a much easier process to get a bunch of circles in golden ration relation just to follow this algorithm: 1. Make the first circle with 100px in radius or diameter (doesn't matter which). 2. Make a second circle with 162px in radius or diameter, the same you chose for the first. 3. Put the first circle inside the second with center aligned. 4. Resize both circles until the larger circle is 100px in radius or diameter. 5. Repeat steps 2-4 until you have the amount of circles you wanna use.
Congratulations and thank you for your tutorial, excellent content and a clean and very professional video. The rhythm of your video is excellent, it contains the elemental elements and it is in good taste. A question, which program did you use to make the video, in particular to show your sound wave type voice? Thank you.
Close to all larger companies have logos that incorporate the golden ratio to an extent. It's used mostly to assist branding guidelines rather than "aesthetics".
You are really good teacher . you know that what kind of explanation students want . Thank you so much from heart you taught every thing very well . No one teach this . They just like fast and fast .

I was trying this technique and learned using values to mathematically imitate this
1st square - 560 px
2nd square - 350 px
3rd square - 210 px
4th square - 140px
5th square - 70px

Thanks m8 !
Yo you're smart
you can do it with any number as long as goes with the Fibonacci sequence (x=xn-1+xn-2) so, 3rd square= 140 + 70
These values don't adhere to the ratio though. The golden ratio is ~1.618, and 560/350 is not equal to that ratio.
Why is Stephen hawking giving me a logo tutorial at 1 a.m
Hehe
He dead bro this is his conscience
Also watching at 1 a.m. SYNCHRONICITIES
The nature sound in the background gave this a special touch
If you double-click the scale tool and set the value of uniform scale to 161.8% you can easily increase elements by the golden ratio.
and to decrease elements, the value of uniform scale is 61.8% ? right?
@ 16.18
yes, this is what i do
I simply divide by 1.618
thanks
Amazing tutorial. I've been looking for someone to explain this process for a long time. Most of the videos of this on youtube, are time lapsed videos with no explanation. Thank you.
+Nate Bartlett You Are welcome, happy to help.
So far the only tutorial I've seen that takes it slow and doesn't require prior experience to soft design.

I have nothing to do with logo designing but TBH this video with that clear voice was surprisingly satisfying.
This voice and that birds singing, man, I love it
Glad to hear that, I enjoy designing while listening to this birds.
I'll try it too then
Mohamed Achraf I just open my window and I'll hear birds
Artistically its kind of nice because there is a certain contrast between a technological voice and the sound of nature working with each other.
the voice is google translate lmfao
You taught me what my professor seems to not able to for the last 4 year
For real, the amount of people who don't know how easy it is to make money when you have this tutorial mastered is astonishing...

At the end when you were adding shadows and highlights with the pen and arc tool, why didn’t you use one of the golden circles?

Thank you for this simple-to-follow tutorial without too much information! ❤️
Never heard of this, but wow!
New ideas for designing.
Btw, I'm learning designing and Illustration only in UA-cam haha.
Great, Someone like me at least!

This was an amazing tutorial. Been trying to find a resource that explains this so simply!
Awesome video mate. Professional :) Looks like you have made some awesome logo's from your dribbble account. I love your style. Subbed :)
Thanks a lot dude, I appreciate that.
I bet he is sitting in the jungle
Lol
With his robot friend who is talking while himself is designing.
I live in the jungle, I don’t notice the bird sounds until I read the comments as it sounds like that here.
Sure))

You are an excellent instructor. I will stick with you.
Sir you are amazing and I believe that you are my Teacher. Thanks a lot.

Nice video and great work. Not to be pedantic but this is a Fibonacci sequence which is not a golden ratio rectangle. But none the less great job!
Yes. Correct ratio around 1.618. Of course, do not underestimate a beautiful tutorial. Congratulations.

Hi, teacher. May I know when designing a logo must use golden ratio or just depend you want to use or not? :)
It depends

The twitter logo is also made out of golden circles isn't it?
Yes
Close to all larger companies have logos that incorporate the golden ratio to an extent. It's used mostly to assist branding guidelines rather than "aesthetics".
No its not. You cant just take the grid and rearrange all the circles in each other and still call it golden ratio.
End result has nothing that indicates golden ratio. You cant just slam circles randomly in each other and think the ratio is preserved.
Nice point
