you never explained the principle behind grids, it just seems like instructions for a specific logo not understanding the principle of logo design using grids
I think 💬🤔 he saw many videos and decided to go ahead and do one
I've been using the MX Master for years. Hands-down (no pun intended) my favorite mouse ever.
Nice!
This is gold! Thank you for sharing, it really feels like unlocking the formula to perfect logo shapes. As a graphic design student, this video absolutely blew my mind. Wish they taught us this at school. Definitely following your channel, and I love my Logitech MX Master 3 mouse. Absolutely recommend it for creative professionals! 😊
You're very welcome!
This single tutorial should have been shown in first year in Art colleges rather than a 3 hours lecture in which still we didn't know how to make a freaking simple logo 🤷
Sorry mate. Art schools are for meeting people. It's like a very expensive real live dating app. You should have studied something real and learn your craft on the side.
True
@@copypaste3526 dont say bs like that. many art schools have great professors who have a lot of experience and can save you from a fuck ton of struggles, with great lectures and even greater textbooks accessible to you. yes, you can meet people there and make contacts thatll ease your future life, but its far from the only thing you get from it.
Ikr. I'm in second year and we hand't be taught shit. xd
Exactly 😂
This is what in my entire design career wanted to learn and for the first time, someone explained it so well that I am commenting in middle of this video. Thank a million.
You went your whole career without learning grids?
@@liamcalpine I am not a Logo designer particularly, I am UI/UX designer and my major tool was Adobe Photoshop. Illustrator is my favorite free time.
I've had a curiosity for this kind of logo design recently. Thank you for this!
Happy to help!
Just revisited your channel such a big glow-up! It’s amazing and I hope success for you and this channel!
Dude I’ve been waiting for someone to make a good video on this for a while. Cheers
You explained the grid system better than everyone out there. I have been looking for this for ages now. Thanks for the great tutorial.
Glad you liked it!
Super helpful. Thanks for breaking down how to build out the grid. Incredibly useful.
Hey Will, superb Video, I was literally waiting for this one, Thank You very much!! 👍
This method is so simple, but it's a GAME CHANGER. Thanks so much for showing! I am learning to use Illustrator as a hobby, or possibly as a career.
Thank you ❤❤
It's pretty simple, you're my mentor(graphic design). well detailed, point on point and you got me something into my brain, i am a beginner. Thank you.
Thanks for this video. Interesting to see different way to develop logos. It would be interesting to now if there are any special considerations to take into account when selecting a grid. Are there any special grids?
Thank you so much Will, this was really helpful ❤️❤️
You're so welcome!
I started logo designing recently. Your video helped me a lot. Thanks for that.
This was mind-blowingly helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for this Will! It is super helpful and u explain it really well🙌😊
You're insanely helpful! Cannot thank you enough for sharing this for free.
Thanks i just got the idea! Ur way to explain this make it very easy for me. Best explanation ever for a grid logo ^^. I appreciate ur hard work :).
Thanks for this great video on grids Will!
This is a really amazing video I have ever watched in my entire life.
to get my grid to look like yours i first had to go into preferences>guides & grid> and then change settings to "gridline every 36 px" and make the subdivisions only 4. why not just show what hitting the preferences button looks like...
Life saver man thank you
I always love your designs. Thanks for sharing your ideas
Thanks so much 😊
i learned a lot more from this one video in 12mins than from my graphics design teacher in 1 and a half years lol
cool video, insanely helpful and very easy to understand! you're a lifesaver ^^
Same. Going into my 2nd year of my design studies and they never showed me this method. Could have save me so much time the first year
Coolest Technique Ever, You make my work easy Man, Big Respect From Pakistan
The university i attended never taught me this and this channel might be better than the knowledge I’ve learned these past 4 years
Very helpful Will! You earned yourself a new sub. Thanks!
Thanks for this, great tutorial!
Wow great idea helpful for me. Thank you.
Thanks. Really informative
Thanks will I will experiment with this for sure 👍
Thank you 🙏 this is very helpful
i agree about the mouse. it's hard for me to use anything outside of the logitech mouse after so many years. great video. i learned a lot. thanks.
Awesome, wholesome and easy to learn, thanks will!

Thank you for sharing this video. 💕
Dude, I got the MX Master 3 around the same time last year, I think, and even now it's hands down it's the best mouse I've ever used.
Thanks for this amazing content! :)
No worries!
Thanks man, it really helped me!!!
Really learned a lot from your videos and specially discovering new terms such as white spaces, negative spaces, etc. I Hope you can do more stuff on Typography and Monogram but those that looks timeless not trendy. Cheers for amazing videos.
Awesome content bro! Thanks
Thank you so much! You're great!!
Wow i learn a new thing today, thank you will sir
Best UA-cam Ad ever.
Highly recommend trying their ergo mouse (roller ball). Love it
So cool to watch.
Thank you so much! This helped a lot! :)
I'm so glad!
Thank you so much ❤❤
Already have that mouse. Love It
it was awesome to watch
Thank you very much.
video was out less than 10 minutes ago and the duration is 12:30, that's weird
This is a great video Will! The only question I have is what measurements did you use to set your grid as mine is a lot bigger. :)
I am new to Illustrator, but I am advanced with Photoshop. And yes, there is a difference and just a bit of a learning curve for Illustrator coming from Photoshop.
You are by far, hands down - the utmost helpful UA-cam Illustrate user that I have found and is incredibly kind to post free tutorials, tips & tricks videos.
Thank you, so so much for all of the amazing videos and tutorials that have taught me incredible amounts of invaluable knowledge.
Question though, what was your "Grid" setup? Is your Grid setup standard, as in: Gridline every: 72px AND Subdivisions: 8?
Thank you again for everything!
- Your newest Fan! ;)
You are amazing! Thank you,
Shape builder is life 👌
You're such a great teacher

I would love to share my work for your reviews.? Where I can share my portfolio.?. I want to learn from you what mistakes I had and what best I done on that.?
thank you for your help!
top video as allways :)
Another great video! Good job, Wizard!
Glad you enjoyed it! You’re a legend :)
@@willpatersondesign haha not at all!
Awesome video....Thank you..
Hello, Thanks for this video!! What's the shortcut you used to create a new artboard right next to the current artboard?
Great video! Just note that when you shrank the icon, your stroke size didn't scale down with it (can be changed in preferences). Good video though for anyone creating logo/symbols :-)
I love your all video
love this
nicely presented as a pro ,
nice work
i like your style
Great video keep up the awesome content
Thanks! Will do!
What's your grid settings?
Its awsome will..😍
Be blessed bro! This is gold!

You're welcome!
Interesting...entertaining...enjoying....amazing and ever green....👌👌👌👌👌
Many many thanks
Excellent tutorial
Glad you liked it
You are my mentor .
thanks man
Loved the video.
I noticed that in the B roll videos he’s using his tablet instead of the mouse, because of the gesture he uses to zoom in with the magnifying glass 😂
I thought it was funny, cause it’s a seamless transition.
Thanks from Iraq🌹
Thanks
cool tecnique.
Nice video dude!
Thanks!
Great job thank you!! 👏 What are your grid preferences set to??? My gridline is set to 72pt and the subdivisions are 8 but they don't look like yours and I want to make sure I am following this properly 🤓
Same issue, found any solution yet?
Just split it by 2. Go to the Edit -> Preferences -> Guides and grid, and there u should have Gridline every 36 px and subdivisions 4
@@sumayyamalik381 Check it right here body
Thanks for that!
tThanks for the tutorial, showing how to set the grid would have been useful.
I really love this your video
Thank you so much!
What a tutorial. Dammmn you good
I tried to do this method in Vectornator and couldn't figure it out, do you know if it is possible to do in Vectornator or could you make a tutorial about it?
thanks for the video, its really good. sadly i still suck at illustrator
The MX3 is one of my wisest purchases.

Ahora quiero ese mouse y teclado 😋
Is it a good idea to draw the logo on the grid paper before photographing and editing it in Illustrator? It seems easier
