The follow-up to Tot Taylor’s YOKO, OH, - FEATURETTE is a two minute slam about schooldays.
Written in Cambridge in the mid-70s, the song finally got finished in one continuous two-day session at RAK London 2019.
Says Tot: “My teacher said to me, 'You think you’re gonna be a big thing boy, but you’re not. You’re lazy, you’re thick - and you’re dim-witted. You’re a real waste of time! You’re gonna be nothing - just a ‘featurette’.
It’s backed with another song from the same period - THE ACTION-PAINTING BLUES - a 'boogie-woogie poem'. Tot is currently in the studio with VIRNA LINDT, BOB & ROBERTA SMITH and the chanson singer DAVIDE mixing their next records for release in 2020.
Tot Taylor: vocals, piano, Hohner pianet, harpsichord, clavinet, Hammond, Vox organ, Farfisa organ, Vibraphone, EMS sequencer, Alpha Looper, 12-stg acoustic, bass gtr, Moog Model D, Kurtzweil string synth, percussion, zither.
Paul Cuddeford: rhythm and chord electric gtr
Shawn Lee: drums
Film animated and directed by Chris Gavin

This is amazing. It's absolutely perfect.
Beautiful !
Tot.... you might remember me. I worked with you and Paul at Compact for a while back in the mid 80s. I've recently downloaded "The Surburbia Suite". I've always loved the album, in fact I've loved all of your music. I'm a musician/producer and I just want to say, the mix/production on your albums are top top quality!
Truly analogue feel to it, very well done indeed
