Hello Kristie My grandad, “papa” bought the lot and built this home. I spent every summer here growing up and have many happy memories. My grandmother passed away some time ago but papa is still with us. My mom helped him get to see this. He was so very thankful it belongs to someone who will restore the home and bring it back to life. A very heartfelt thank you from me as well.
Jason. I was sooo pleased to read that your Papa has been able to see this restoration. Time weathers everything including we humans too. What a joy it must be for him to know that someone has taken the time and used their expertise to continue what was once his own place of tranquillity. God Bless both your Papa, and Kristie Wolfe.
Just discovered Kristie on UA-cam, she is soo talented. I didn’t like them mixing cement without a mask, but she works hard. She needs a show on HGTV, instead of those older shows that have gotten boring.
Kirsten, I'm in Love with this "Shipwreck", as well as All of Kristie's work. There is only one thing .... Too Short. I could have watched this for hours. Please promise to bring us back for a part two, when it is more finished. Big Thanks to Kristie for the content and time she afforded for this video. Another Big Thanks to You and Mr Dirksen for your photography ability and time, as well as your very adequate editing skills. This Wreck made my Heart and face Smile.
@@Kristiemaewolfe Get yourself a UA-cam channel already, you can see there's high demand in the comments (could help pay for swim lessons, also in demand!).
Hi Kirsten. Thanks to you this wonderful restoration has been recorded and the sheer brilliance of Kristie Wolfe has been recognised and acknowledged. I say well done to her for the refit and re design of this awesomely located property. P.S. If anyone who lives near Kristie knows how to teach her how to swim, Then Please Please approach her to offer her the help to learn how to. purely from a safety standpoint. But also so that she can feel more confident on and around the water. I'm in Coastal Western Australia, so being able to swim and surf etc... is a way of life here.If I were there I'd offer to teach her myself, otherwise.
Kristie is such an artist in everything she takes on. She goes ALL OUT!!! There are just not very many "unique" properties like that, that are "grandfathered". Most gov't lakes have large setbacks. So BRAVO Kristie, for finding this! AND thank YOU, Kristen for bringing it to us!
I get it! I was raised cruising the Great Lakes on my parents yacht and have owned boats…but I can’t swim for the life of me. I sink like a rock. It doesn’t stop me from boating! Absolutely incredible Kristie; every time I watch this I see something new. You are unbelievable!
Literally the most glamorous laid back builder in the history of glamorous laid back builders. One of the best videos I've seen on YT in ages, props to Kirsten for capturing, and of course, Kirstie, and mum and sis, what a team! Follow all of Kirstie's projects and this one is a beast... huge project, super cool and looks to have been executed perfectly, massive respect. Can't wait to see the next one.
So much to love about this story Kirsten. The location is breathtaking. I love that she chose to save and rehab the home rather than tear it down and put in something modern which would be out of character for the landscape. How she took the time to salvage and repurpose things. I also loved seeing this family of women doing the work rather than contracting it out. I will definitely check out the links you provided to other projects she's done. Her energy and can-do attitude and determination was infectious.
I am absolutely obsessed with Kristie, I’ve been binging any video of hers I can find for hours now. It amazes me what she can do and does. She is extremely talented, brilliant minded and a great personality, she seems very humble, frugal and not full of herself! I wish I had even an 1/8 of her talent and skills!
I would love to see this place again, completed.I love this area, great night skies, the camping across the lake is lovely and that very cold lake, even in July, is a great recreational resource! Love to see the Pirate Ship being renovated - wonderful!
You and your family do great work. Many thanks for the hours of travel and architecture you have delivered to me. Kristie is my favorite. She is so creative. The barn venue was awesome. I wish I was her brother. I always wondered how much of her own work she did. Now I’m even more impressed. How do we go stay in one of her creations? I am curious about her business model. Sometime it would be nice to hear her business model challenges. You ladies really know how to live life. Tranquility is order of the mind and you two are a good combo. Peace be upon you sweet ladies.
I love the way you present your videos and leave the majority of the talking to the owners, really get some good information. This is such an interesting home and a credit to the owner’s skill and determination! Amazing video
This girl is incredible! She has the eye for architecture, design and repurpose stuff. This is the second vid that I have seen with Kristie. Great vid Kirsten, loved the Shipwreck.
I think this build is so fascinating! The way that this lady has reclaimed This Old House on the lake is so wonderful. But what amazes me the most is that she doesn't know how to swim.🏊♀️ 😯 I would like to see Kris come back when this work is finished, and see if she has ever learned how to swim too 😊🤣
I watched Kristie on her other projects. What an amazing eye she has for all things repurposed, eclectic, forward thinking. She's fearless. I really admire who she is & what she's able to do. Thanks Kirsten, for all you do, as well.
That young lady is a pure genius at what she does. She has an eye for what could be and a flair with imagination. Then she does what she needs to to make it happen. She learns stuff in order to make the project happen. She's not letting any adversity get her down. This one is gonna take her awhile though. That structure has so many levels that she is completely remodeling. Up to and including moving the kitchen from one floor to the one above. And she's as frugal as she can be about the whole process. When that is finished a few years from now it's gonna be awesome.
From Hawaii's swing bed, tower in the jungle, hobbit house, giant potato suite to this, there's nothing Kristie can not tackle. Thank you Kirsten for showcasing wonderful inspiring talents and places. I'm a long-time fan of your channel. Great work!
I’m proclaiming Kristie Wolfe as one of the most fascinatingly impressive human beings currently on the planet. And dangnabbit, as if the Fire Lookout and Potato projects were the ultimate pinnacles of her construction and design skills; she still surprises, inspires and even instills another small helping of envy-I’m sure the German language has a word that succinctly expresses this combo…😜
@@drinkingpoolwater the work she does is beyond inspiring, ill always watch the walkthrough of any property she touches. But, yeah, no arguments, shes as gorgeous as her restorations
So many good ideas to preserve this space. I thought for sure the entire kitchen was original to the house, just repainted. The oil cans, the drawer fridges. All just brilliant. Her ideas are so special. Location so special. Sleeping inside the project while its under construction? YES. Dedication. Is she single?
I'll say it: Beautiful location - Beautiful view, what's not to like. Hell, a pup tent and a outhouse would be a winner there, but am confident by the time Kristie is done it will more than compliment such an ideal spot.
Great project, the original owners would be proud that she is refurbishing their once loved wrecked house...a follow up video when finished would be very interesting, also that lake and view are priceless 👌❤👍
Kirsten, this is inspirational. Very grateful for your documenting the wonderful undertakings of Kristie Wolfe and so many other creative and daring DYI builds.
Wolfe is total amazeballs! I don't know about construction, but she seems to work so fast and efficiently! I guess it's like she said, she doesn't wait around and subcontract stuff out. Can you imagine how long she would have had to wait for those giant windows? I cant. probably months and months. I love her design aesthetic: functional and practical but still with a flair for the dramatic, a touch of whimsy, and even glamour.

This is so cool! I had a great uncle who built his cottage to look like a ship. My great aunt and uncle “christened” it Ship to Shore. It was renamed and extended after a fire, long before I was born. My siblings and cousins all knew it as the Boat House. It’s really fun to see that there are other people who have the same idea of building a boat/ship next to a lake. :)
