The parents truly failed to get though to Brandon. He didnt get the lessons Clark/Superman got. All they did was hide the truth from him and when things got bad, they tried to kill him.
This is why kids fail
What? They were very loving to Brandon but then when unexplained deaths started happening they got scared.
Have you even watched the movie? This is not a case of Homelander (improper development), Brandon was a normal kid with loving parents. He was simply an alien sleeper agent, once the signal hit there was nothing anyone could do to stop him from going batshit. He was a programmed weapon. His parents did nothing wrong.

Seems to me, Brandon attacked every time someone yelled or tried to hurt him. I realize he was unstable, but at his age in his state of mind, maybe people should've rethought their approach.
My thinking too, the parents should have tried harder.
@@lagranarob-3881 no, it was inevitable. Remember unlike superman, the kid was seduced by a voice to be evil. No matter what the parents try doing they'll just end up being a slave to him. Looks like brandon still love his parents/family to some extent so he wouldn't have killed them if they didnt try to kill him. But he would still enslave the world
@@TheProxy2 If they make a sequel, it will probably start somewhere in the middle of his campaign to take over the world.
That's the whole point. That's what makes it sad.
The approach should have been to never make the mistake of thinking an alien could be raised as a human. The alien wreckage and "Brandon" who was not "Brandon" and not a human at all should have been turned over to the military at the very beginning, and probably destroyed. His "parents" who were not his parents desperately wanted a child and they made the tragic mistake of thinking they could raise an alien being as a child. It is similar to the mistake some foolish humans make when they try to raise a wild animal as if it were a domesticated pet, and then it leads to nightmare situations like the chimpanzee who tore off the woman's face or the other one who horrifically mutilated and nearly killed his human "father."

When there's an impressionable child, with superhero powers, you'd think to show compassion and understanding instead, not violence. But I guess since the makers of this wanted to show a superman without the same compassion and love, so it wouldn't have been another way, but some films just have protagonist's so stupid, that it's unrelatable. If they're unrelatable, it's hard to empathise with them.
You would surprise that people are actually like that jn the world if you actually left your mommy house a d UA-cam
He killed people ??? He’s sadistic lol you libral
The ship brainwashed him. Whatever it did it erased the human part of the kid.
The kid had no empathy. A lot of serial killers claimed to have a normal upbringing and yet turn into what they are. It was clear from the moment the ship started speaking to him that he could not be saved.
Even if the ship didn’t brainwash him he still would’ve turned out evil showing compassion probably wouldn’t help because when people have time to think they can hold in the anger and amplify it and you could see through the movie the moment he was alone he was just amplifying his anger
Father: “ No no, I’m sorry!”
Brandon: I know. *Charges heat vision* That’s what’s gonna make this so much more satisfying.

2017: LOGAN. Rated R
2019: Brightburn. Rated R
Next will be The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Rated R
Logan and bright burn have severed limbs and violent deaths so it's somewhat understandable.
In fairness that is a terrifying concept. I'm surprised they haven't done an itsy bitsy spider horror movie.
