Just bought my wife a new Lexus hybrid SUV and love it. Remote start the car during summer hot days and the ac is running on the Hybrid battery without the engine running. Had all the windows tinted with the best 3M crystalline series including the windshield as well.
I usually open the windows and the trunk for about 2 minutes and let the breeze remove a lot of the hot air, then start the car, run the windows down for a minute, close it up with one window cracked...works for me...😊
A white vehicle will deflect the UV rays of the sun , making it less hot . Also , the paint will endure years of the detrimental effects of the sun , unlike colored vehicles . Of course white vehicles are must easier to see as for safety during darkness , etc.
Wow, these morons kinda glossed over the fact that when you're MOVING, more air blows the heat off your radiator, THE THING THAT GETS RID OF HEAT! It's always so hilarious when "experts" say that what EVERYONE is doing is somehow technically wrong. You get in, turn it on full, drive with the windows down until you're blowing out the cold instead of the heat, then just roll up the damn windows...
Correct. I go one step further; with my car “baking” in direct sunlight, I direct the fan for about 15seconds at the lowest speed towards the defroster so the hot air doesn’t blow on me. Cold air comes out that quickly…
1. Use a reflective sunshade 2. Drive for a mile or two with the windows down, then turn on the AC. 3. Once the AC is on, ask your butler to dump ice down the back of your shirt.
From a Phoenix Native; after parking, roll down all windows an inch or so. When direct sunlight passes through window and strikes the interior the wavelength is longer (infrared). Now the sun's energy can not escape through windows but can easily pass out open window. Last comment. After entering car immediately roll down all windows to let outside air enter which is cooler than your interior; driving this way a while helps to.
naw hommie, i aint' getting in a hot car, i am gonna remote start that bish and let it cool down. it's only 98 here in texas, but once i step foot outside my 75 degree house, i am sweating bullets. i ain't goona get into a hot ass car and sweat for 10 minuets for the ac to get my vehicle up to cool.
Im against puffing because it wastes gas and is super annoying from people with loud vehicles. Just tough out the heat for 5 minutes until the A/C gets circulating. (And I live in western Colorado where all of July and august are pushing 100 degrees every day)
Auto stop/start usually automatically cancels itself during hot temperatures. At least my Audi does. When the weather is mild, that's another story. Putting it in "S" mode eliminates that headache.
Yep. Remote starts are fairly commonly now on new cars. My wife’s new Lexus came with it free for 3 years. As soon as it expired I will install an aftermarket ones.
So that by the time your car’s interior starts getting cold you’ve already arrived at your destination 😹
But keep sitting in that drive thru for 20 minutes to get that $18 value meal.
Tinted windows also help

@@jml9550 I have all my windows “legally” tinted and their is a big difference, definitely love it
@@jml9550bro just bought a 2024 Lexus and the tint on these are nuts!!❤❤

Tint illegal in California. What a joke California is
There's someone in this comment section that hasnt changed their air filter at all yet!
I got 60k miles on the original cabin air filter in my car. Just blow it out nice with the air compressor and stuff it back in the hole!
Done what to the what???

I'll NEVER use auto stop. What a Ludacris idea. It will cost you in repairs far more than actual savings ...
No more idiots that know nothing of how auto ac works should be giving people advice. Buy a older car there more reliable anyway.

I've already forgotten it 😂

Ummmm...ok.
I'll spend more on gas! It was 92 feels like 107 yesterday & it's forecast to feel like 110 today (Bradenton, Fl). Burn the fuel folks & live longer!
ANY gas used to cool your car down is gas well used.
Climate over heat protection and turning on the climate via the Tesla app, has you stepping into an already cool car.
I put a solar umbrella on top of the car too keep it cool.

Roll the windows down for a few seconds.

Not rich, comfortable. It is still quite nice.

Is there another way to cool a car, other than “down.” You sure as H can’t cool it up.

Mass media at it again
Not an issue with an electric car. 😝
Which is why real vehicles have a high idle feature.
