31 years ago, I left my hometown in Sinaloa, Mexico for the United States.
I spent Christmas and New Years at the border chasing a dream.

That small voice that was inside of you that we both know with the Holy Spirit who is guiding you and protecting you was your father up in heaven… Very few young people that actually listen to that voice deep down and you were one of the chosen one because you listen and because you let God direct your feet and look at where he took you look at how far you have gone because you listen to the voice that’s inside… I’m certainly sure that the spirit has already told you that you are more than a dog trainer you were more than a people trainer you were here put on the earth to inspire to teach to educate and to execute the vision that he has for you… Well done… remember the story and Daniel with the three boys were thrown into a furnace and not a hair was singed they didn’t even smell like smoke and when the enemy looked inside the furnace instead of seeing just three boys they sort of four and one resembled the son of God… He travels with you he directs your feet continue on the path that he is chosen for you and you be nothing but a complete success with everything that you do with everything that you touch with everything you say… God bless happy holidays 👍🤟✌️

I love the voice of God. It’s taken me a long time to not be afraid I would fail. Because He always carried me through. I ran away too and a cousin found me. I should have stood my ground as a girl, but was scared. Your family sounds precious to me. I ran from being harmed. You ran toward a better life. I’m old now, but looking back, I see that Hand Of God in so many places in my life. Many Blessings, young Sir! And Merry Christmas. 🎁🎄

yes you are correct and he is not like the onces crossing the border now who live off of handouts and bitching that they don't get appropriate food for their ethnicity. Cesar worked hard to get where he is now.

I think that his mother is a woman of faith as well. The way his parents sent him off without any argument says that they were hearing from God as well. While I think they were concerned and prayed for him. I do not think that fear played a role here for God did not give us a spirit of fear but of love, power, and a sound mind. 😉

Without my dogs I’d have crumbled yrs ago.
You trained my wife & I to be reasonably good pack leaders.
I’ve never had to struggle in my life the way you did.

I too have benefitted. And so has the Rottweiler rescue we brought into our home. Without his teachings we may have had to give her up cuz she was attacking our other female. She is really becoming a happy family member.

You never told us why you never came over legally since you were 21?
@@jerryhiggins6222 Do you know how long it takes for an applicant from Mexico, central or South American countries? If they don’t have an advanced education then it can take a minimum of 12 years, often longer. Plus, many poor folks don’t have the money for the fees or skills/knowledge how to access the forms or complete them.

This fact is one of those many things (another - there is only one Race: Human Race) that once we realize them, our whole perspective on who we are relative to God and each other, changes dramatically for the good.

Amazing to think if any of those details were slightly different (Life savings, the guy who came to help and paid for the cab, not getting noticed on the way out) we might not know who Cesar Millan is today. Glad things worked out the way they did!
With Drive, Determination and God, whether the life savings or the $20 for the cab or the gift of $100 are there or NOT, the Success STILL happens, if one DOES NOT GIVE UP.

So glad you made it. My husband came from Mexico in 1989 in a similar way ( even though his story changes, lol) I know it wasn't easy. Now we have two beautiful daughters and the youngest has a way with dogs.

That "sense of happiness, gratitude, love and creativity" you speak of I can relate to, although I never tried to put it into words. It's so nice to hear. My daughter struggled for her life for weeks leading into Christmas. Despite her struggle, I felt that same way. She made it, and is now 6 years old. She loves dogs, and begged for another one this Christmas. We have a German Shepherd already and they are the best of friends. The miracle of Christmas absolutely exists, and your story validates it even further. Thank you for sharing.

Many times I have encountered people coming across the border as I lived very close to it on the US side, not too far from where you ended up. I know firsthand the struggles many have encountered. What a beautiful story, the people that crossed your path were Ángels sent to help you out at the most difficult times that you were experiencing away from your love ones, not only being alone, trusting strangers, with an empty stomach, no money and the fears to be found and deported at any time. One of the things that we shall never forget, is our roots, and your story, reflects that, the pain and suffering of so many that unsuccessfully have tried and couldn’t make it, we can only hope and pray for better times to come for all the human kind, not just the few.🙏🏻🌈🌅🌎🌍🌏♥️.

Cesar Millan changed my life. I am a vet, when I became a civilian, like most OIF vets I was angry, unsure how to operate. Learning how to be calm-assertive for training dogs changed how I see the world, and how I operate in it. People in my neighborhood call me “Dog Whisperer”. I know I’m 20,000 leagues behind this man. But every time I hear it, I feel so much gratitude for his contribution to the world.
What I’m saying is: I’m so thankful he chose peace and hope in the water. I’m so grateful for the impact he decided to have and how his actions throughout his life have helped me become a better version of myself.
Cesar, I’m going to find a way to thank you in person. But for now, from the bottom of my heart:

I had that same voice tell me to help horses. I did this for 36 years. I just retired last year. I truly believe that God imparts to us each a gift. For my sister, it is singing, for my brother it’s being an electrician, for me it was horse training. I unfortunately had to fight with my family ( especially every time I had a horse hospitalize me) to live my dream. I hurt like crazy now, but I can’t regret a single day, year, or injury. I spent my years fulfilling the gift that God gave me. Thank you for recognizing your gift and sharing this with us! Love you Sir!

Cesar I think this angel man who took you across the border gave you the gift of seeing and recognising how we ‘broadcast’ our emotions - but put you in the position of what most animals are in that need your help. This man knew you were fearful, long before you did, he was your pack leader and knew the water would calm you and knew his actions would influence you. You didn’t perceive that, and to this day this water is a question for you, but looking at all your work, that man is you now. He showed you how to handle fear and knew what would be needed to get you across that border, gifting you the perception of total reliance and trust that an animal needs with its owner. You are using all the skills you use now. What a beautiful and important story.
