HVAC Condensation P Trap installation | Stops Leaks!

- My brand new Air Conditioning unit was leaking a ton of water and after checking for cracks in the condensation pan, changing air filters, messing with the pump, etc etc, I found out it was the lack of a p-trap the entire time.
This was also after a couple of check-ups from HVAC companies who couldn't really figure it out. This was their 3rd guess and something I had found online as well - turns out this was the issue.
The trap is easy to make or buy with costs around $10 total.
Includes 3/4" PVC pipe with a few Tees, a cap, and a trap.
You'll want a cleanout section just incase and a vent for smooth flow.

How do you change the filter if the trap in on the way?

@KellyConcepts I have the exact same setup with a P trap but both my cleanout and vent are not capped. When I ask my HVAC technician if I should cap the cleanout, he told NO don’t cap it. The problem is that the cleanout is venting out a lot of cold air into my hot attic. It does NOT have negative pressure but rather positive pressure. Any ideas why I can’t cap my cleanout and why cold air is venting out of the cleanout?
I had similar set-up without "vent" past the p-trap, and the negative pressure (sucking inward) (fan on exit side of condenser) pulling air through the condenser, stopped the draining function. You may be having "positive"air flow, air blowing through from the front, thus pushing air out through the pan?
That’s not a p trap. P trap, S trap, V trap, refers to shape of the trap itself. New pvc will not crush by using a sharp ratcheting cutter. Only old brittle pvc will crush. You don’t need to debur it. If you use a saw your thumb will remove Al the pvc dust.
The purple primer is left (not cleaned) so inspectors can see you used it.
Remove drain to Replace filter 😅😅😅

No need for the trap, the pump acts as one
Then why was it leaking? The pan overflowing? Maybe without the vent there was a vapor lock between the pump and condensation line? And the pump only activates when the "float" reaches a determined height.
I don't believe the problem to have been a real issue as you draining strain into a condensate pump 2 inches away from the drain pan but keep us posted
