@@riseandalpine Probably will! Recently received an X3 and I am planning to use it when I’m carving - just need the weather to hold below freezing so local resorts can blow some of the good stuff!
Subscribed bro, I saw this video because I am willing to buy the x3. But it seems you are still actively posting vids even tho you don’t have millions of subs!
working towards a million! From what I've heard from my friends the screen is the biggest difference on the X3 - which doesn't matter too much in my opinion. Hopefully that helps you make your decision. Happy to help with any Q's about mounts or the X2 :).
Honestly? That unicorn mount had the best angle. Fantastic view and the stability even at a 36”-48” extension is pretty impressive. Other than that, I just have to say I’m happy you’re a getting better quality camera! Note to self: never get a Hero 7 Silver 😂
I was scared you would say that LOL. I like the unicorn mount too but there is no way that I could shred hard with that thing attached. One faceplant and I would have carbon fibre up my nose 😂😂😂😂
I like chest harness as always gave me my skis and a decent view when on 1440 aspect too and was the most stable shot prior to stability tech advances. Looks like you are actually there skiing as the best angle I reckon too. Newer Go Pro etc have more view options and stability now enabled on super wide views etc so vids can come out even better.
I like the chest harness as well! I find it to be the most comfortable and I like seeing what the skis and knees are doing down below. It also doesn't mess up the skiing experience like a pole mount!
work you put in here. You’ve earned a sun from me. I’m curious around 4:26 you mention that you can have it capture your face more so you can capture reactions and such. I’m curious, i like driving around playing my flute on my bike with no hands haha. Would it be possible to capture both my face playing the flute and the audiences reaction as I ride my bike through town? And display this on one screen? Thanks haha
Okay firstly... playing flute while biking. That's insane! Where can I watch???? In my recent video where I biked up a mountain to ski I used an extended unicorn mount off my helmet which worked alright. You can see it here. ua-cam.com/video/3KidxbXJfoo/v-deo.html. Check out 6:25 mark and you can see what I'm talking about.
Andre!!! Hope all is well man :). Such a crazy camera!! It's like having a film crew in your pocket. Also super easy to edit the vids on your phone and upload to socials super quick.
Glad you enjoyed! Unicorn looks great but you would need some sort of counterbalance to make it comfortable to ski with. Putting the unicorn mount out of a backpack is a decent option as well from what I've heard.
Hey Shane! Oh man.... The app took some serious frustration before I figured it out LOL. I wish they had a similar (simple) interface for the computer. Editing on a tiny phone is super annoying. I finally figured out how to reframe shots and that option to track a persons movement makes things a bit easier!
Battery is fantastic I think it's better than the Max especially in cold weather! One charge has lasted me through a whole day of ski filming and some!
Hey David The unicorn mount and selfie stick could give you some decent angles to watch your skiing. However, holding a stick really offsets your form and the unicorn mount sucks. The camera takes awesome footage and it's better than nothing. But best bet to review your own technique is to have a friend film you from below!
🔥 For 360 go two poles and magic stick held off one pole, either hold both together or I drilled a hole in my grip to hold it easier, it almost looks like you’re not filming yourself 😅 here’s what it looks like: ua-cam.com/video/jakfHsziTI8/v-deo.html
Drilling a hole in the grip sounds interesting! Holding both poles definitely looks ideal! If I'm really charging hard I find it pretty hard to hold a pole in the first place. I tried holding my pole and the camera stick and ended up dropping the camera and it went flying down the mountain LOL. Maybe drilling a hole would help.
Would love to see backpack shots. Something wide where we can see your car in technique 😜 there are a couple of recommended settings in the camera. Check out ‘best360’ and ‘eatsleep360’ channels for some tips. Also ‘onecutmedia’ Rick Meloff from Squamish is doing some cool stuff on whistler. He is loading full VR capable 360 videos, great for People with VR goggles.
Fantastic video showing nearly all of the skiing mount options. Love this. Thank you!
Thanks Brian! Let me know if you have any action camera skiing mounting questions!

@@itstheBMAC Right on!
Blow some good stuff?
You must be on the east coast somewhere?
For me, the invisible stick is so cool. I would love to try filming while skiing by Insta360 One X2 too. Love your video. It’s generous.
I love the insta360 invisible stick too!!

pretty cool... i will have to check out your other camera video
Let me know if you have any questions Darin!
I will always perfer first person chest shots over everything, almost makes you feel like you are the one skiing the terrain
Totally agree!
Skiing with a chest mount is the most comfortable option! Will totally be filming alot of chest mount footage.

@@riseandalpine facing you, it’s the best view, but facing forward I think I like the basic helmet mount without a pole.
Keep up the great work!
I liked your fast review👍🏻
Glad you liked it. Let me know if you have any camera Q's.
one viral video and this man has 200k

Hey man, I am interested in whether you received the insta360 x3 and wait for you to review it.
Hey Yun,
I have not received it!
But if I did have it it would be very fun to review :)
Thanks for the video man! I’m thinking in buy this one!!!

See you at the flute bowl
Ayyye Flute is pretty nice right now!!!

nice comparison! unicorn view was good as drone

Now we can do a goofy 360 mount skiing collaboration video 😂
Would be some serious cameraception....
Does that mean we would be filming in 720°?
A Unicorn mount jousting match on whistler could also be epic LOL.
I have the same camera, although I regret not buying before I visited whistler last December 😕
No way! Would have been awesome for you to have it for your visit. It makes the iciest of days look smooth 😂😂
Hey just wondering, what skis do you ride?
I ride head I-rally 176cm for carving and Saloman Rocker 2's 190cm for powder!
Did you use the phone app to edit the footage? I thought the editing software had a difficult learning curve 🥴
Hey Shane!
Oh man.... The app took some serious frustration before I figured it out LOL. I wish they had a similar (simple) interface for the computer. Editing on a tiny phone is super annoying.

I just use Imovie
How is the battery compare to MAX?

Helmet weight gets to be a big deal. I'm picky.
I hate helmet weight as well. I much prefer the chest camera for comfort/enjoyment of riding.
Is this a good setup to learn and review your own film to improve carving, shapes, angles, etc?
Hey David

The camera takes awesome footage and it's better than nothing. But best bet to review your own technique is to have a friend film you from below!
Or have a friend follow you with the selfie stick... that would be ideal for closeups
