Massive points for Ferrari for introducing the car with a naturally aspirated V12! Ah, Cortina d'Ampezzo. Brings back memories. Forty three years ago, just before Christmas, I ventured there with a few friends. Late one evening we went to the town centre and saw something quite strange... British workmen fitting windows in a shop front, so we had a chat. They told us they were making the shop ready for an action scene in a James Bond movie. Basically, they were installing special 'sugar glass' for actors to smash through the following morning. If I remember correctly, guys on motorbikes were going to crash through the window. Anyway, we then decided to go to a Disco. The moment the staff heard us speaking English, they asked if we were with the James Bond crew, so we laughed and jokingly said yes. To our surprise, they thought we were serious and provided us with free booze all evening. I think we tried every cocktail on the menu. Good times! Oh yes, the Ferrari... very nice, very nice indeed. I think I'll have three 😂
I am dreaming of a future, where car-manufacturers offer to chose: a) between a `home-office incl. playstation on wheels full of nonsense informationfloods out of ugly squared cockpits... and b) analogue, round instruments in an old school designed cockpit, being arranged around the driver like a dress. Harry, difficult to produce an interesting video from a Press Drive Day, but your imagination and cinematography quality knocked it out of the park. Just wonderful, thank you.
'Cinematography' might be a tad overblown... All things considered, normally, the camerawork (videography?) is quite unimpressive, oblivious of it being taken in the car or outside, by Mrs Met or golden haired son, in the shed/garage or rolling through the south of France. At least with some of the Italian Alps backdrop, it's easier to get a pretty nice shot.
Very nice tour, Harry! Apart from that glorious engine noise, I’m not sure what to think of the beast. What I do like is your balanced reviews. I’ve seen a couple of UA-camrs lately talk about incurring the wrath of manufactures for failing to blindly slobber all over their offerings with nary a quibble or concern.
Harry is on a VERY short list of REAL automotive journalists. Nowadays, 99% of automotive 'journalists' are just brand ambassadors for whoever's car they're reviewing and repeat the EXACT SAME talking points as everyone else. I think he's the best.
Glad Ferrari let you have one of the first goes at this car. Along with the 296, a really good looking Ferrari, which I haven't thought for a while. Still pretty silly and impractical but mostly in a good way, and if you can afford it, you likely don't care nor should. I'd have one. Great filming on this trip - you could give a little nod to your camera person occasionally.
Ah the top of passo giau / passo falzarago. Cycle up there every summer on the maratona dles Dolomiti. Always in tears with the emotion arriving after 4000m+ climbing.
I know you dont mean "natural" in a literal way, but I find it quite funny that as a percentage of the total production, only a miniscule amount of them will ever see climates (with any snow etc) like this in their lifetime. Middle eastern dunes and steep hollywoodd driveways is more likely 😄
I started watching this in FHD on my laptop, but the scenery was so breathtaking I just had to change to my desk top computer with its 27"4K monitor. Wonderful! Oh yes, I think there was a car in there somewhere...
I love, when Harry brings out the map! My neighbour has a Lusso, and I think he, rigth now, is driving his footbaler wife mad by looking at Purosangue videoes. He will get one, no doubt. Awesome video, Harry, it made me feel like an Italian playboy. And that is the biggest praise of a car, I really tried not to like!
One thing for certain, this is definitely not a 4x4 suv. It’s a Ferrari for people that can’t get into a sports car. They nailed it with the looks though, it’s stunning. If I had the money I’m not sure I’d buy one. I’ve had some beautiful expensive cars in my time but all I did was worry about people keying it. Beautiful car.
There's the car, and then there's the video. I now take for granted your succinct and relatable summaries of the car itself, highlighting what makes the car special (or not). But the video quality here was very special. All the different shots from in & outside the car. Hearing the V12 from inside & outside of the tunnels. Watching and listening from behind a thick stand of tall pine trees as you carve a series of S curves and come into the clear. Watching from behind as the suspension works to maintain grip when exiting corners. And, throughout it all, the glorious sound of the engine. Kudos to what seems like a small army of camera people, support staff an video editors. Or is it just you, your son and your wife? Although one of your best videos, it's a crushing blow that it's sold out and I won't be able to trade in my 2008 Honda
Great review Harry! …and in such beautiful mountain scenery in the Dolomites! The cable car takes you to the top of the Hidden Valley ski run..it’s the only way to get to it and is so beautiful..
Well done Ferrari for going with a naturally aspirated V12 - real class - and a really high-tech suspension system, probably better than anything else on the road.
SO much better than the reviews from the established publications which are all the same and approach everything with a modicum of disdain. Thanks Harry!
Thank you Harry. Great video as usual. I'm not a fan of SUVs in general and balk at paying £100k+ for a Jaguar SVR you tested recently, let alone this stratospheric price. In preference I've always bought fast estates (as well as Ferraris and Porsches - have a 991.1 turbo at present) and have an Alpina D3 which is outstanding. IMHO a big omission on Harry's Garage: you should ring up Gary Lott the Alpina boss at Sytner Nottingham and test these Alpina Tourings: super quality, fast, frugal, now all 4x4. I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised.
yes just taken delivery of a B3 from Sytner Nottingham.......absolutely brilliant car to replace a Panamera Turbo a and rare 5 star Autocar test to boot !!
Thanks Harry, I will be lucky to see one here in Melbourne Australia, but your honest appraisal (as usual) gives me a feeling for what is unatanium! More over you have given me a new destination to drive when my wife and I finally get back to Europe, after our drive to the Artic circle, thank you. Congratulations on the shooting and editing as well.
What an epic drive in a truly exceptional car. Call me old but the idea of having a performance car I can drive and have room for the family not just to get them from point A to point B but to actually be able to share the drive with them is becoming more and more appealing to me all the time and this Purosangue hits the mark perfectly. This is the Ferrari for me. Thanks again for the video. Well done as always and well done Ferrari, Well done indeed.
Interesting about the cabin noise. We just purchased an Alfa Romeo Stelvio TI, it registers quieter on the sound meter. We got on to the sound meter app after watching your videos. Fun to watch you rev down the roads from Pinzolo over to Cortina. My wife is from there and we have been down those many a time when we visit. Our rental car transport was never near as elegant but we enjoyed the drive.
This car more than likely features the pre-production door seals. Long story short, I asked about them at the Scandinavian launch party in November because they looked odd. The Chief Marketing Director told me that the Euro certification for the final design was something they were waiting on as there was a backlog on some of those things. I suspect that these early pre-production cars feature this door seal. Looking at how silent a Lusso is inside, I know Ferrari knows how to make a quiet cabin.
Obviously loads of videos from the usual channels on this press launch, but this is the only video I need to watch. Excellent review as always, and puts a honest perspective on it for us folk who can only dream rather than over relations, up to the "why have I ordered this car" look at me videos
Mrs M the real star of the show. Great shots, great review as usual from Mr M. Not really a Ferrari man myself but nonetheless a superb Harry's garage video.
Toyota Soarer V8 in 1991 had true active suspension, 4 wheel steer too. It is still the best active car ever made, Porsche adapted the Toyota system for PDCC. I had one and it was just as you describe the PURO... Ferrari are 32yrs behind Toyota on that. It's a sort of oddball, quirky looking thing to me, too much like the silly Urus to be anything other than a rich person's confection.
Mercedes also has had their ABC fully active suspension in production for a couple decades, with a production debut (well after Toyota) on the 1999 cl class.
Really impressive thing this car. Years ago when i first heard about the rumors saying Ferrari also wants to get in the market with their own SUV i was kind of shocked that every sports car manufacturer now is losing their DNA just for the sake of sales. But Ferrari took the extra mile on developing this Purosangue and it turns out that was the right decision i think. They managed to keep the special Ferrari looks, the soul and also the V12. If you cant see whats coming and only listen to that godly sound you probably would never think of a SUV coming down the road. Absolutely stunning this car.
Awesome video as usua Harry. Never been to Italy or in a Ferrari but loved the views and sound of both! Price tag is expensive but then there's no such thing as a cheap Ferrari!
Wow, that's amazing. I've heard about this. I think it's called a "map" - it's a large, foldable paper device with roads marked on it...:) But seriously, nice review Harry.

"It should cost 70% less". Seeing as it sold out at current price Ferrari are probably glad you're not working for them. Also the endless "This is not a Ferrari" whine from people who'll never ever ever own Ferrari, dear god, we're still doing that? Past the point of cringe by now.

@@assininecomment1630 - holding a tiny camcorder at freezing temperatures doesn’t make for the most steady of hands!!
That aspect is definitely understandable,@@charliemetcalfe6222. 🥶

UA-cam appreciates exhaust music, niceeeee!
I absolutely love the paper map. Amazing. More of that, please.
A map lol ,not seen one before ? - how old are you
I'm stunned at all the comments pointing up a map. It's just easier to visualize on a paper map and easier to film.
I'm living vicariously through Harry once again.
Man...wow!
That induction sound at 14:12 is magnificent 😲👍
@HarrysGarageUA-cam. Oh- Ok!
🙄
I wasn't sure how I felt about this car, until I heard that V12. Wonderful sound. Having said that, the LM002 remains my favorite "exotic SUV".
Finally a long awaited driving test video and I'm glad you were one of the first to make it since your reviews are always on point
Cheers Harry! looking forward to another episode. Your video's are way better than regular TV, even big budget productions like top gear.
Harry is on a VERY short list of REAL automotive journalists. Nowadays, 99% of automotive 'journalists' are just brand ambassadors for whoever's car they're reviewing and repeat the EXACT SAME talking points as everyone else. I think he's the best.
TopQweeeeer.
Sublime car heaven! That sound, that glorious engine...
Another great video Harry. Love the fact that you are still a schoolboy at heart, flooring the throttle through tunnels. Why not!!
17:54 "There's this lump of plastic that doesn't look very £314,000 Ferrari to me."
You got a great laugh out of me! Well said.
314k??? Oh, Ferrari, gimme me a break 👎
Really appreciate heading up to the snow, those shots look SO good !!
Ah the top of passo giau / passo falzarago. Cycle up there every summer on the maratona dles Dolomiti. Always in tears with the emotion arriving after 4000m+ climbing.
Nice one Harry, well done for “escaping “the preferred test route and using the car in what will probably be its natural environment 👍
I know you dont mean "natural" in a literal way, but I find it quite funny that as a percentage of the total production, only a miniscule amount of them will ever see climates (with any snow etc) like this in their lifetime. Middle eastern dunes and steep hollywoodd driveways is more likely 😄
more like, Harry is allowed to do that. Most reviewers are not!
I really like your comment 😄👌
Lusso! I love them!
A lot of angry people out there , that's for sure.
What a great surprise on this gloomy tuesday night, thank you Harry!
Ooh a tunnel! ….. floor the throttle 😃 Harry is still like the rest of us 😂…… Fantastic filming by the way loved it 👍
I was hoping to see the snow slide off the tunnel roof in time with the the car ripping along 😎😃
That's a seriously GOOD look'n rig at first blush. Fantastic styling for what it's worth.
That had me laughing right off! Thought, "This is why we connect with Harry."
SO much better than the reviews from the established publications which are all the same and approach everything with a modicum of disdain. Thanks Harry!
Harry is the best an honest non biased reviewer and unlike some an engineer and knows what he is talking about another great video Harry
Just one of those tyres, is equal to the net value of my last four vehicles combined!
Harry, your videos are just peerless! Always factual, engaging and enjoyable. Thank you 🙏
I heartily agree 👌
Good word peerless. 👍
It doesn't matter what Ferrari says, the world, his wife and their dog knows it's an SUV...
An ugly one at that!
@@CaptainHoratioPugwash no where near as bad as some of them, look at the new BMW XM for instance!
Yes it’s an SUV, I think it’s looks alright, though not a fan of the genre.
I drove an Alpina D3 for 4 days, really liked that car, it just did the job. Lots of grip and feel.
The rear end is just mean, love it.
You will see one in Swan st Richmond for sure.
Thanks to Harry taking his rolls to the Arctic circle, wife and I plan on doing the same route next European winter.
Thanks Harry for the inspiration
What an epic drive in a truly exceptional car. Call me old but the idea of having a performance car I can drive and have room for the family not just to get them from point A to point B but to actually be able to share the drive with them is becoming more and more appealing to me all the time and this Purosangue hits the mark perfectly. This is the Ferrari for me. Thanks again for the video. Well done as always and well done Ferrari, Well done indeed.
Fantastic looking car! The color, or the type of paint, looks unique, especially when it parked next to the snow plow.
„Ferrari invited me to test drive their new model in Italy“…I don’t think life gets better than that!
EPIC car, EPIC scenery, EPIC video!
Haha, Harry is a true gentleman. Only lesser men, like me, would not resist dropping a gear and revving that V12 engine in that tunnel 🤣 5:50
Obviously loads of videos from the usual channels on this press launch, but this is the only video I need to watch. Excellent review as always, and puts a honest perspective on it for us folk who can only dream rather than over relations, up to the "why have I ordered this car" look at me videos
A direct comparison between the FF and this would be really interessting
Been in the Dolomites in spring and summer often but seeing it in winter scenery....just stunning...with and without the car
Thanks Harry, always fun to see your perspective!
Excellent and interesting review: detailed and precise, not to mention the scenery - nice one Harry - that's quite some car!
Wow this really helped with my decision! Just came home with a 80k mile chrysler pacifica from 2003
Yep, you wouldn’t want to accidentally buy one of these instead!
Awesome video as usua Harry. Never been to Italy or in a Ferrari but loved the views and sound of both! Price tag is expensive but then there's no such thing as a cheap Ferrari!
Ferrari should Make an offer that Harry cant refuse for making these fantastic videos that every future owner is going to watch🤓
Wow, that's amazing. I've heard about this. I think it's called a "map" - it's a large, foldable paper device with roads marked on it...:) But seriously, nice review Harry.
That's actually the only Ferrari I've ever fancied owning. Epic!
Extraordinary that they're all sold out! Great review as ever. I think if I was in a happy place to afford one, I'd have a Range Rover and 355 instead...
What a fantastic car, I'll "dream on" and stick with my Mini Cooper-S. Thanks Harry. all the best Bob
Steady wind noise on a more than $450,000 car is completely unacceptable.
thank god harry exists as the antidote to the forever positive vloggers.. ahem shmee!
Always good to see a Harrys garage review.. you know you're getting an honest opinion lol. I know they 'had' to do it but dear god its not the best looking thing and if you want a Ferrari...is this what you think of?? No matter how fast this is or luxurious this should not be more than £150k....it really shouldn't.
"It should cost 70% less". Seeing as it sold out at current price Ferrari are probably glad you're not working for them. Also the endless "This is not a Ferrari" whine from people who'll never ever ever own Ferrari, dear god, we're still doing that? Past the point of cringe by now.
@@toggtlas7099so if I go buy a clapped out Mondial for dirt cheap, will I be able to voice my opinion? Just wanna make sure.
so less than a mercedes gwagon?
@@toggtlas7099 And tbh for engine alone this is way more Ferrari than Urus is a Lambo
@@toggtlas7099 Thing is, just like the urus this things will be going for 500k or more so the guys that got an allocation are already making money. 150k,that's gtr or m3 price this days,a carbon fiber, active suspension v12 FERRARI should be worth as much as some turbo kits or tuning packages around, jesus, what's wrong with people
Wait a minute 😳 😂😂😂
This dude really pulled out a paper map while he's about to drive a car that cost over 200k! 😂
Talk about old school love it!!!
That's a beautiful car! Harry is the best reviewer in the business, bar none!
Dare I say I like the scenery more than the car!!! both are lovely
I love Harry’s reviews because he’s very thorough and he’s gonna tell you the good with the bad… 🍻
Harry “ drive it like you stole it “ great vid 12/10
This is the review we've been waiting for
The disengaging of the driveline to coast is something that's in most modern HGVs.
It works quite well when you've got so much weight behind you to keep up your momentum, don't quite know how well it'll work in a Ferrari.
Great informative video as always Harry. V12 does sound amazing.
LOVE that you still use the map to show where you're going.....the best! No tablet...paper maps! I do use Waze though myself....but my wife loves maps! LOL
Thanks for the drive! It is beautiful in winter, spring, summer and fall. Your are right the cable car a great ride and what a view and great hiking starting point! Also a great historical WWI war front where so many died in the frozen landscape. Personally I will take a Porsche GT. Thanks again for the memories!
This reminds me of taking the Jazz to Aberfeldy
