Obligated vs. Loyalty so important. Blue needs to be loyal to self first and take care of needs.

What color was the kid who would do the homework and not turn it in? I could never figure out why our son would do that. I listened again. White

If this is the definition of motive, it sounds like any ordinary feeling could also motivate your behavior. Why does the media, the public, or the law sensationalize the concept of motivation, as if a big grand scheme can only explain some tragic events or a series of such?

      Perhaps feelings are deceptive?
This is not a definition of motive, it's an explanation as to how understanding motive can help understand why people do what they do. All people can do the same thing, they will just do it for different reasons.
All feelings creat motive but, believe it or not, all motives can be summed up into just a basic few motives. Feelings are like branches on a complex tree that connect to a single trunk. The color code is about getting to "the root" of the problem.
Understanding the motive helps uncover problems that block a person's ability to see to their own fundamental happiness.
Here's where my philosophy breaks away fron the color code. True happiness comes when one ultimately denys one's self and seeks God's Will.
Each of the 4 motivations in the color code are fundamentally evil, just like mortal beings fundamentally are naturally animalistic. To be motivated by power, fun, intimacy, etc is always going to be selfish in nature and the kingdom of God does not work that way. The natural man is an enemy to God.
God is all Powerful and his kingdom provides the most Intimacy, Peace, and Fun (in basic terms) so it should be everyone's goal to enter it.
Jesus said "I do nothing but the will of my father". Through his sacrifice he became our salvation.
His motive was God's will and he experienced a "fullness of Joy" which can only be achieved by receiving God's spirit (aka his emotions in our heart). Such a thing requires obedience to God's laws which often restrict temporal earthly pleasures (power, whoredoms, wrecklessness, selfishness) but promise happiness and peace in this life and brilliant exaultation in the eternal kingdom of Gods perfect glory.
All feelings and desires should be to God. All mistakes should be evaluated and repented of daily.
The Blood cleanses as often as men repent. No sin is beyond the Lambs ability to save from. Reconciliation, peace, humility, forgiveness, joy. These are the fruits of happiness by the spirit of him who gives hope.
Jesus said "be ye perfect even as I and your Father in heaven are perfect"... he also said many other things.
Read his holy words again with the color code, and motives, in mind to understand more... I believe being perfect has to do with a 5th motive (to do Gods will).
It's ok to sin and struggle if we continually seek God's will, repent, try to be better and more holy and rely on God everyday. It's ok to be red yellow, blue or white but accept we receive his spirit and are born again we shall be forever left to a "color" and ultimately be damned.
To be saved means to be exhaled and changed and made like him. If it were so now, the world would be filled with love instead if the hate, racism, wars, and evil it is now.
A red will feed a homeless man because it will allow him to write off expenses on his taxes, a blue will feed him because he feels sorry for him, a white will feed him because it makes the white feel good and a yellow will feed him because it's fun... like feeding fish. But a Christlike person will feed a homeless person because he loves him pure and simple and sees him the way God does.
      Amen
