Perfect, raw, loud, imperfect!! It's real, not fake like a lot of todays music.
yes sir well said ramones always put 100 percent in their shows brought you up 3 chord tunes that sounded awesome they are missed may they RIP

more great songs than the beatles. joey was one of the best singers ever.

The original punk band, before the pistols
Kick out the jams mf
@@acidead97but this was the first true punk band. That was just one song. MC5 did all the psychedelic stuff to so they aren’t a punk band.
I saw dee dee at the venue in Edinburgh 1994. What a great gig. Travelled up from Manchester in a stolen metro.
This is just how they played in concert. They were a punk band. They didn't bother very often with musical nuance. They weren't what you'd call great musicians. They just wanted to write & play short, loud simple songs & make money doing it. They didn't care if they didn't play or sing everything perfectly. THAT was the Ramones.
I greatly appreciate your honesty. To the uninitiated, their studio albums are much more accessible, & you can even notice that their songs are actually all different from each other.
Still not an excuse for gawd awful music. The record executives played a joke on the willing followers.
@@gr.vo.3058 That's exactly what many people said when rock 'n' roll started to get popular in the '50s. Nothing but horrible, awful noise. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but millions of fans over the years disagree with you.
They're actually one of the most influential bands in the history of modern music. Maybe check out their Wikipedia page.
@@deepermind4884 Well said my dude.
@@deepermind4884 Checked out the Wiki Page. They do have a strong cult following. But seem to be a one trick pony, after setting the stage for punk. This is a song that came fast and furious BEFORE the Ramones. The song is called the "Knife". Let me know if you've ever listened to it before todayua-cam.com/video/v719eZmXRdE/v-deo.html.
@@deepermind4884 I agree with you too. To understand what punk is, you have to have been there. It is almost impossible for someone born after 1975 to understand this.
Ramones were an iconic experience!! No one went to a Ramones concert for the musical integrity of mankind. If it wasn't for the Ramones, there would be no Green Day
There would be no ramonescore
green day is a ramones rip off fake punk rock band.
or many other bands. the Ramones gave rock n roll a much needed boost as compared to the boring long drawn out rock and roll ballads of that time. they gave new life to rock n roll. GABBA GABBA HEY!
This live is SOO POWERFULL!!
I'm willing to bet her record collection really sucks
You should get your ears tuned
I have a Ramones story from 1978. I was there when they opened for Black Sabbath at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino California.
Punk rock was despised at the Swing; the promoters didn't know or care.
When the Ramones took the stage the chants of "Fuck You" nearly drowned out the music. The Ramones played on.
At about two minutes into their set, the garbage began pelting the stage. The singers hair was wet from being hit with a full cup of coke. The Ramones played on.
At about six minutes into their set the empty bottles began flying. This sucked for us in front, only most of them made it. The Ramones played on.
At about twelve minutes into their set the folding metal chairs began flying at the stage. One knocked over part of the drummers kit. The Ramones ran for their lives.
Two things happened after that: the Ramones never played the Swing again and all the metal chairs were permanently removed.
The next day in the newspaper the Ramones said: " I guess Black Sabbath fans aren't our fans".
That show always puzzles me. The night before, in Long Beach, Van Halen opened. Swing would have loved that.
Parents didn't care but man It was FUN!!!!!!
It's funny because it doesn't cause you much emotion, however, I tear up every time I listen to the Ramones xd
great great GREAT vocals Joey Ramone, RIP
and of course nice reaction as usual Rebeka ^^
Dee Dee Ramone is legendary AF
She's too normal she never was a misfit you can tell shes got pretty privilege
They also have another 20 mins live video. It's from Feb 1980 live at theatre de empire, France. The performance is superb and solid.
Classic Ramones!!! Ohoo yeahh! Gabba gabba hey!
You change your hair like most people change their socks, Rebeka. 😉
Friends, beer, weed and punk rock. This is the Ramones. To understand what punk is, you have to have been there. It is almost impossible for someone born after 1975 to understand this.
Played a concert at my college in 1980.... Never stopped for over an hour. DeeDee would just yell "1-2-3-4" between each song.... Brilliant.
HEY HO LET'S GO..... BEST LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL BAND EVER!...and what a BOARING!!!! Audience!
Their 1st album came out in 1976 & their last studio album came out in 1995. They went through some stylistic changes over the years, usually in a desperate attempt to get better commercial success. They had a hard core following, but their albums & singles didn't do so great in the charts. They were known mostly for their live shows. Unfortunately, all the original members have passed away.
Because of their history, it's hard to pick individual songs & say "this is the Ramones". But I'll try.
Blitzkrieg Bop, 1st song from the 1st album.
Teenage Lobotomy, from their 3rd album
I Wanna Be Sedated, from their 4th album, the 1st album they had a change of personnel on: new drummer.
Poison Heart, from their 12th studio album from 1992. This song was a decent hit in England.
There's so much more to them. These are just 4 songs I think you might appreciate.
Cheers!
It's not a good idea to start listening to a band like the Ramones by listening to a live performance like this... 1. The Ramones revolutionized music by writing inventive, clever pop melodies (basically early British invasion type songs like early Beatles, Herman's Hermits, and Dave Clark 5), and playing them with a very heavy "Iggy and the Stooges" instrumentation... it is the instrumentation that is the same, but the melodies are actually quite different, and in fact full of variety.... so you should start by listening to the recorded songs... 2. The second thing is that this concert was not a typical venue for the Ramones, who mostly played in small clubs... it is odd to Ramones fans to even see them in daylight!! 3. I suggest you watch a band called the New Piccadillys perform a Ramones song called Judy Is A Punk the way the early Beatles would have performed it ua-cam.com/video/9gl-HEUo-Js/v-deo.html ... and then listen to the Ramones recording.... ua-cam.com/video/BlvXQrdm-rw/v-deo.html and then listen to the Ramones perform it live... . ua-cam.com/video/2ELedMtfaFA/v-deo.html .... it's hard to hear the melodies until you have an ear trained to hear them (the way you have to educate your palate to like whiskey), but the melodies and rewards are there, and there is a reason the Ramones are called the punk Beatles and why they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility..once you know the melodies, the live performances become awesome because you can then appreciate the sheer power of the instrumentation.. 4. Here are some other songs to try, but listen to the recordings... "Swallow My Pride", "Carbona Not Glue", "Why Is It Always This Way". 5. And if you do want to try another live show, a great one is in London UK on New Year's Eve 1977 6. Hope you find this helpful.
Gotta love The Ramones.
My favorite band for years. You seems to understand their bla bla bla...
if you don't want to make that face of not understanding what he's saying, that's what headphones are for.
Next to the Beatles....no one influenced more art.
Kraftwerk is up there with these guys also. Also hard to grasp for a simpleton like the reactor I guess.
they've been described as the punk beach boys
Saw them live in Ljubljana/Slovenia. I regret i didn't seen them more times
You just dont undertand what is punk rock about.
Punk rock saved my life, and the Ramones were my point of entry into the punk universe.
Steve Wozniak, cofounder of Apple intended the US Festivals, with Bill Graham's (rock promoter) participation, to encourage the 1980s to be more community-oriented and combine technology with rock music. The first was held Labor Day weekend in September 1982, and the second was less than nine months later, over Memorial Day weekend in May 1983. Day Two of the '83 festival was Heavy Metal Day. I know you don't like heavy metal but would like to ask you to consider reacting to Judas Priest from that day. Honest, and fair analysis as always. Thanks Rebeka.
i have all the shows from that day and JP and Motley Crue sounded much worse!
This is the best live concert from the Ramones after the one they had in London 77'. This lady couldn't handle singing like Joey even after they mess with the mic on "gimmie gimmie chock treatment" he kept going. Amazing concert I watch over and over again
Especially rockn roll high school n teenage lobotomy.
it's my second favorite band after The Misfits... 😪 but I get it, it's not for everyone. The live album Ramones - Loco Live, literally change my life. When I heard it, i just found my place. 2 minutes songs, barre chords, leather jackets, shouting 1-2-3-4 between songs... that's why I play guitar today. That's why I consider myself a punk. It's the attitude of the whole band more than just the songs. oh and my favorite song is she's the one... and thanks for your honesty ❤
We are 138!
my family friends all laughed at me when I bought the first record. now all of them including
their kids and nephews all listen to the ramones!
Ramones were not really a festival rock band, they played mainly night clubs. I saw them several times and this is possibly their worst performance, technical problems etc. maybe check out Ramones in London 1978 that’s a better show. You are right about their songs all being similar in style but they were fun to dance to and gave a solid jolt of energy. I understand why some people aren’t fans. Great reaction, it great to see you 😊
Thank you.:)
I don't know what the heck you people are hearing but they are tight as heck and marky
is playing hungover from books I've read and Joey had mic issues. They sounded great.
I played on big stages and it's not easy. Nobody sounds perfect playing outdoors.
God i love the Ramones
Hey ho LET'S Go!!!!!
Having seen the band 20 times over the years starting in 78, this is not a particularly "great" show. The Ramones needed to hit the stage late at night in a small, smoke-filled, hot club to fully achieve that sound. Outdoors? No. What was that? Woodstock? Greatest live band ever. Used to leave their shows with no hearing and drenched in sweat. Sadly, the last time I saw them they played at an amusement park in Massachusetts on the Adios Amigo Tour. Outside in the sun. They took the stage...1234!!! Mothers and kids began to run away from the stage area covering their ears. Classic Ramones til the end. The 1st time i saw them in 78 half the club in New Haven was covering their ears. Some people know brilliance, others not so much.
The only fault with this Ramones gig was that it was so short! :D
Punk allowed mediocre and poor musicians to play. It is important for all people to experience music. But as many commentors here will state...Punk is an attitude. I will admit I had to learn to tolerate it. But it is not about advanced musicianship...I think it works better in a tight, sweaty club where everyone can slam dance and get into the angst...while ignoring the off key and off beat music...
One of the wildest concerts I’ve ever been to. They were the kings of punk in the USA. Clash and Sex Pistols dominated the other side of the pond.
Great job Rebeka with your reaction to The Ramones live performance from Us festival from 82
Thank you.:)

At least this comment section has taught me what normies think of the Ramones. Yeesh.
The Ramones at the US Festival in 43 C desert heat, in the middle of the day, in front of 400,000 people is not a good way to see them.
anyone who dont like the ramones dont really like music it was up beat party tunes like neil young said ramones said up yours with your fancy records nothing wrong with 3 chord songs rhythm guitar be missed in a band far more than the lead guitar
You're unequipped, by virtue of your recent arrival on the world as history unfolds to evaluate a seminal group in the evolution of modern music, singularly responsible for inspiring the entire punk movement in Britain and beyond. Another time, another - shared - reality across the distances. When I first heard them in 1977, hanging with other musicians at the beginning of the punk scene in Vancouver, I understood them for what they were: a reaction to the gloss, excess and overblown, elitist nothingness that had overtaken rock and roll. So yeah, go to studio recordings. Honest reaction, at least, though your disinterested, disengaged expression through much of it said it all. At least you gave it a chance and are willing to hear more. Dismissive thumbnail is an undeserved disservice to rightful icons and legends. Rest in Power, Perpetuity and Peace, Joey, Dee Dee, Johnny. Thank you, Marky, hang in brother. D

If you don't like the songs Warthog and Outsider you don't understand me and never talk to me thanks
Watch Joe Bonamassa Live at Rockpalast please! my favorite intimate concert.
kkkkkk. Basically it's 3 or 4 chords at most. and from one song to another, it just changes the order of the chords. And the speed? the first show of the Ramones, the whole set lasted just over 20 minutes. even so, the purest and most perfect rock that humanity has ever produced after Chuck Berry
In the most beautiful meaning of this, I believe you have an old soul!! You genuinely get into the music that you review, and you totally get the music, performers and the lyrics!! I really really enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing with us, you're a breath of fresh air ❤️
Wow, thank you so much! Appreciate it.:)
They played punk. Have you been in a punk show? The problem here was the festival. No energy. No interest for punk music. Watch Ramones performance at Rainbow in 1976. Same music, same style, almost same songs, but you feel it was a moment in history. That show changed rock and roll. Actually, punk music is all about energy and connecting people in a tribal ritual during pogo, feeling music without any layer of decoration to get validation from the audience during the show. But don’t worry you don’t need to like Ramones or any other punk rock band. It is just not for all.
it's true, Punk rock is not for everyone, and the Ramones as well as most Punk bands tended to all sound the same. This is because at its roots, it's meant to strip away the pretention and precision of the progressive rock bands of the late 70s. It's meant to be anti-progressive and accessible to the youth and amateur musicians it targeted. A signal of sorts, that the rock music had become to complex with its weird time signatures, and it's virtuoso solo breaks. A signal that look, this doesn't have to be complicated to get up here and say what you want to say, and everyone shouldn't be fearful to give it a try. That It's OK to be basic and a bit monotonous. That there is still an audience looking to identify with that and just go headbang with their mates. ITS ok to get back to the original spirt of rock music. To miss this point, is to miss the entire point of Punk rock, and so its not for you to begin with. It really isn't a genre that cares about criticism or sales. It was always meant to be a thumb in the eye of civilized society.
i was wondering why dd is on left side of stage i figured out its mirror image
The recorded songs have a little more variety, but their songs do sound similar to each other. It’s a fair comment.
if you were a musician a songwriter or a rock n roll fan you'd hear the talent and genius!
hey, punk is not supposed to be virtuous or perfect, just basic but direct and lethal punk rock 1,2,3,4....
People say they are the original punk band, I disagree Ramones were more suited to UK rockabilly. UK and US have different tastes and some bands get labeled in the wrong genre in my opinion.I went to a gig (Simple Minds) and I was bored to the point of counting lines on the wall behind them. 3 hours I'll never get back. Ramones were at least 45 mins long - It's all I have to offer you
Lady, I have to tell you: YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
Yes I agree Looking Good ....but let's hear some punk
Ramones pretenders are The Pretenders. Chrissie Hynde is the reincarnation of Joey Ramone.
Only because she had her hair in her eyes. And their first album was semi-punk. Other than that, she's a helluva songwriter, singer & the band was excellent.
Believe it or not I was there i lived in kali for 25 years back in the 80's
Such a great show this was. So many classics in this one. One of dee dees last one with em
If she doesn’t like it, that’s her prerogative
um no stupidity.
I love em but fair enough. Maybe you'd like The Descendants? Especially their record "Milo goes to college": punk/power pop/70s pop brilliance. Good sense of humor, melodic hooks, high energy, some Hardcore crossover, love songs. Give it a shot why not? Peace✌🏽

They're as Legendary as it gets! That being said the Ramones are not for everybody. I absolutely love em but I know alot of folks hate em.
well I hate Zeppelin and I love the Ramones and rock n roll.
this video is flipped horizontal .... (???) .... they are not left handed ...
this reminds me -- Ringo is left handed ... but was forced to play a right handed drum set because in his early days left handed drummers were frowned upon ... he was already playing right handed before the Beatles asked him to join ...
don't look so excited over this band --- they are boring anyways .... MHO ...

Check out the Who Live. Next. Considered by many, as the greatest live band of all time. And STILL selling out major sized venues in 2022.
I think I fell in love
My friend was there. I had to work.
Rebeca I thought and said the same when I heard them live for the first time Today thirty years later is the band that I like the most.
Puro amor a mis ramones
The songs dont sound the same, its maybe the style but they are all pretty different. Its punk rock, its simple rock played fast
Only way to find your own favorite kind of music and songs is to listen to a lot of stuff you won't like on the way. But that's just how it is.
Love the Ramones. Those who know, know. I also enjoyed watching you Rebeka, nice and easy on the eye.
I was there
Can see where Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream got his stage persona from!
Just by your reaction I could tell the song you were into was I Wanna Be Sedated. Honestly, back in the early to mid 70s music was bland. The Ramones brought a high energy, to the point, no useless solos and in your face energy. If you wanna see a high energy concert watch Ramones live at the Rainbow 1977
Hi beautiful lady, stick to reacting to Queen and Freddie as you know they rarely disappoint. You look gorgeous ❤️❤️

Provavelmente ela nunca esteve numa roda punk na vida... Não sabe o que está perdendo!
I love Ramones and like you.
1234 lol still to this day
I'm a huge Ramones fan, and although disappointed by your review, I can definitely understand it. This was not (at all) a good way to be introduced to the band. Watch the official videos for "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" and "Rock and Roll High School" and you'll see some of their magic on display. Their studio albums are fantastic... but the thing is, when they perform them, they speed it up... a lot. So, to start with the live versions of the songs will give you the wrong first impression. Again, go for the official videos not the live ones. "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Pet Semetary" would be two other good choices. Peace.
The greatest American band. It was just seeing a rock band. It was like witnessing a force of nature. And that's all people need to know.
Love your new du!
I was lucky enough to see the whole band together. You, with your pretty makeup and prissy hair... I guess you don't get it. That's OK.
Nah, sry but the only song remotely decent I thought was Rock n' Roll High school, only because in the 80's and it had pretty good air play and it stuck in my head. Tell the truth I prob haven't heard it since 1980 when it was released. Please put them back on the shelf, Thx Rebeka :)

If you want to something good from the early 80s check out hanoirocks live at the marquee 1983. The whole show is epic. If you dont like that maybe you should stick to... i dont know
The Ramones are always great. People who dont get them cant understand.
This music is not for you. Stick to what you can actually relate to.
Also, the younger generation likes their music polished and perfect all the time. Even live, they want a band to sound like the album.
They don’t really like music/art. They just want to be entertained.
hello, you should listen to studio versions... live the ramones have the same raw style of playing, from 1974 to 1996 they played each show faithfully to their style, for me... the best rock band ever!
The antithesis of big, over produced, arena rock. It is perfect for what it is fast, loud, simple and fun. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the drivel that was being pumped out on the radio like Chicago, Kansas, Asia and so many others that were just boring copies of each other.
Sejak kapan punk harus rapi? Inilah Punk sesungguhnya baby ❤. You must see Sex Pistols from England too sweetheart..
Unfortunately, your opinion is irrelevant, as is mine.
I don't like all punk, but The Ramones and Rancid probably the only bands that fit really well with my taste. They have the rock 'n roll/rockabilly vibe in their songs, which is great. Their simple 3 chord sound became the foundation of punk rock we know now. Casual music listeners who don't 'branch out' won't understand.
They sound great!! This is The Ramones!! Short, catchy, straight to the point punk rock!! A mouth rinse of 70’s stadium rock.
