I met Steve Clarke today at the Brimsworth House for retired Artists in Twickenham..hes 92 and looka amazing..still dancing and boy can he play the piano
My GREAT pleasure to work with these two gentlemen in 1987 for summer season, then Stage Managed them at various charity shows in London over the next 10 years - With HOURS of practice they made it look for effortless !
I had the pleasure of meeting Stevie Clark approx 40 years ago. He was working in Majorca, singing - playing the piano. Truly amazing and a wonderful human being. I thInk I spent the entire two weeks in that club....
I miss Uncle Mac (James Clark). They are truly inspiring to the young ones in the family. I will definitely enjoy sharing their stories with my children as they grow older.
Hey...I think we are cousins. My Aunt (Rhaziah) married Steve Clark and they had three kids, choreographer, Russell Clark was one of them. Big hugs, Fam.💜
Steve Clark's son, the great dancer and world-class choreographer, Russel Clark, was my dance teacher (and very dear friend) for years. - Seeing this is a joy. Thank you so much for posting it. ❤
I just saw these guys on Killer Diller, a movie from 1948.This is the same routine used in the movie. They were phenomenal! I had only seen The Nicholas Brothers who also were great! Great Vid.
How well I remember these two guys, and met them several times when my father worked on stage with them, two of the very nicest people you could ever meet and their act was timed so superbly well
@talkingfeet Jimmy Clark is my grandad and was the best most polite man i know. It is hard to belive that he is no longer here. :( R.I.P Grandad I Will Never Forget You And You Will Always Be In My Heart love you xxx
Steve is now 87 and lives at Brinsworth House in London, the retirement home for showbiz performers. A true gentleman, with so many incredible stories to tell.
I saw these guys around three years ago at there final performance before they retired. They were both in there 70s but man could they still dance. Incredible stuff.
Just experienced that Jimmy has gone to higher level. I was fortunate enogh to witness them both as an act in London 2005 (or so) and they were still doing pretty good. No one were unfortunately able to greet them as security was huge. RIP JIMMY.
I met them several times in a chinese in Dunstable..and one of them danced round the table for me as he was perturbed i did not know who they were...they told me they knew Norman Wisdom and they passed a message onto him for me ..bless erm xxx so great to see them and yes now I do know who they are and I will never forget my lil private performance..xxx
These guys are amazing. Love that fact that they mix in some fairly simple movement that just looks cool with the fancy stuff, as opposed to tons of flash and trash.
Saw these guys in Australia with the johnnie Ray show, I was just 4 years old, they made such. A big impression on me, loved tap dancing because of them,
Now that's great hoofing! Minimum effort...maximum effect! What great feet! How very cool..... Love a band that swings with the original arrangement too. WOW
I see a little bit of 'can't touch this' in the dancing! You can see the influence of John Sublett starting to take hold where the use of heels was included in tap.
Clark brothers are good tap dancers but the berry brothers and the Nicholas brothers blew me away it's like their in a whole different world of talent like what the Clark brothers do is what the berry brothers and the Nicholas took to a whole new level
When I was a child in the seventies in Asia, I grew up around showbiz, I used to play with a 'Robbie Clark' his father was a Clark brother, his mother was from East Germany. Over the years my mother, also a showbiz dancer in Asia, kept in contact with Robbie's family, and they had returned to West Germany, and Robbie had become a competition-winning dancer (breakdancing, hiphop). Does anyone know more about this family background of the clark brothers? would like to know more. Thanks.
If you notice, America only had the stomach for one black dancer or group for widescreen appeal. After Bill Bojangles Robninson, we had The Nicholas Brothers. As such, The Clark Brothers, as well as Atkins and Coles, were probably on The TOBA Circuit, ( also known as "tough on black asses" . They were not featured on Broadway nor in major motion pictures. And when Sammy Davis Jr. came along, The Nicholas Brothers went to Europe.
When the Clark Brothers did a season at ABC Regal Gt Yarmouth UK in 1962 with Lonnie Donegan I delivered a large box of groceries to them ... I worked in the Fine Fare supermarket opposite the theatre. They gave me a 4 shillings tip (20 pence in today's UK currency) ... at the time equivalent to 3 hours wages. I'll not forget their generosity and their SMILES :)
Those were my great uncles.
Nice tapping skills 👌👌
It is like there the same
Me and Anthony
what about you and Anthony?
Ricarda Mills Wow! did they teach you any steps? bet they had a few stories to tell

AMAZING clip. I'm better off for having seen this.
Are you Kidding ?
they have a smoother style than the nic bros but its still impressive
they were "Hoofers", but Nicholas Brothers, they were not.
The song is awful. It's also way too loud and drowns out the tap sounds.
