I'm so sorry. I froze a week ago only for a nite & then a month or so ago for 3 days. Then I got more heaters, electric blanket & realized I could turn up the heaters because they were on separate circuts by themselves each The Propane was off I had no idea it was all done in rv trailers through a computer little box & I wasn't watching the weather. It's never dropped that low ever since I lived here in WA. So I'm nervous when it drops another 2 days when they just said & we had 2 days. So having to adjust the heaters till the temp. outside stops dropping keeps me up all nite & worried. I do also have a generator & the landlord will know & run over to turn on. It's all set up outside with a cover over it and fuel jug as well. On a farm. I forgot I had the generator glad I remembered it. I feel better now. Ok good nite & thanks for being out there. Peace & warm nite for all.

Honestly, if they want to go to Cancun in the midst of it when it's impossible to do anything about it anyway, I don't care. Just get on it first thing when you get back. If they'd spent the budget to winterize the grid system before the blizzard, people would have complained they were wasting taxpayers' money on pointless things. I live in the Adirondacks. We literally just drive on the snowy icy roads. We have huge logging trucks that make the trek everyday. These people just simply don’t know how to drive in the snow and you drop sand on the road in between salt. Also if you are someone who lives there, then pack your car with warm clothes, socks, hats and blankets…. And water and food! You can put the water between your thighs to make it melt. And cat litter is what you put under your tires to get the tires to grip!

I used to think that, having grown up in a northern state that had a solid 4 seasons. Then i moved around a bit. Lived in warmer places. Lived in colder places. Now I live in Texas.
Here, my hot water heater is outside my house in an attached, unheated shed. I haven't seen any sand on roads in my city, and I'm honestly not sure that we have any salt or sanding trucks. Infrastructure is just different. It's not better or worse. This is extreme weather. When I had family in Seattle worried about a summer heatwave, putting them at 100+ high temps for over a week, I didn't roll my eyes and throw out a condescending comment comparing it to our summers. Normal weather is relative. Extreme weather is relative. Infrastructure capabilities are relative. Comparison is a lazy way to interact with the world.

You can sit in the shade in August and it's actually cooler than sitting in the sun. You can reasonably expect several days of snow up there. That's not the case in Texas. • @IzzyKawaiichi
      @IzzyKawaiichi Рік тому

@@albeit1 What I'm saying is, WHEN THEY PREDICT IT, it almost never happens. Like, if the weatherman says "there's a 90 percent chance of ice on Thursday ~according to the computers~" what goes through our heads is "well, according to history, there's a 2 percent chance the computers are actually right, which means it's probably not happening." Also, there's no "planning for the possibility," because what happens is that if you call it early and say "Hey, everyone! It's supposed to snow tomorrow! We're preemptively cancelling school!" then there will be nothing. I've seen it happen. More than once. A snow day with absolutely nothing on the ground. That's why schools usually wait until day of to cancel around 5, 6 in the morning so they have time to get the word out, but if the precipitation doesn't actually begin until 7, 8, 9, or later, then students may already be in school, and it becomes a huge hassle to get everybody in the district out and back home.

      🤣🤣
      Back in 2020,
During my morning commute on I-75 freeway, I witnessed an SUV (that I was coming up on) doing Uncontrolled *REVERSE 360's*
      (On the freeway).
Somehow this guy musta put his transmission in REVERSE because "i saw" him do at least FIVE Reverse 360s as I slowly slid in for the unavoidable collision. (Everyone got Caught on BLACK ICE)
Then, by the grace of God, he kicked out of the 360S at an improbable 1-in-a-100 angle that allowed him to somehow cross 2 lanes of traffic (WITHOUT hitting anyone else), and came to a COMPLETE STOP *Perfectly* on the Shoulder of the freeway... BUT WITHOUT going OVER IT and INTO THE DITCH.
It will probably be the most IMPROBABLE event I will have ever witnessed in my life.
As I continued past him... I remember seeing the driver yelling "WHOOOOOOOOOOOO" at the top of his lungs (obviously still in shock from what had just happened).
I immediately started honking my horn just to let him know that he was "THE MAN" for that day
      🤣🤣

@@HughJass-jv2lt That was back in 89'
I did another one here on the insland in the rain on a 90° turn at the bottom of a wet hill. There was a little old japanese man on the other side of his rock walk raking his leaves and he saw me go into a skid right at him. So he froze, because he didn't know weather to go left or right. I turned into the skip and did a 360° plus a 270° right in front of him and exited>> stage right in my old 81' 240D. Those old Bnzs could handle.

Knowing how to drive helps, too! Drivers in Colorado don't care about anyone but themselves and where they're going. I've seen so many hit and runs. It's crazy! I've also seen people drive on the sidewalks to bypass traffic 🙄....

We are living in wicked times and violence and crime is now demonic in the streets, stores and sadly the schools. I wish it was only in YOUR area but it's not.
