Classic nissan
It's a used car. No idea what was done how the previous owner used the infotainment...
@@DMCarReviews how they used the infotainment??? Like abused it by turning it on. Come on-don’t be creepy
That glitch happened in my 2020 Nissan car as well. Apparently it’s a common issue thats fixed by removing the volume knob and cleaning it out.
On my way tomorrow to pick up my new 2024 Versa S manual . Woot ! ( lol )
how’s the car now?
@@ndnd. I absolutely love everything about this car except that they didn't give it to me for free lol . Outstanding gas mileage , great looks ( I got the electric blue metallic ) and just plain fun to drive .
@@5675492 i just got a blue manual last week i love it more than i thought tinted it lol if this car gets close to 200k miles its a homerun man
@@5675492how is it standing still? I’m looking at getting one at end of the year hopefully beginning of next for a good deal if I can find a manual
I have a 2014 versa 5 speed manual and it’s fun car to drive get to go through all gears no tech which I love and no power windows
Leider i Deutschland nicht zu bekommen.Wurde ihr kaufen
How is it with downshifting?
@@Tragick_Sin smooth I always rev match
this is one of those cars that you can slow car fast!
Exactly 😂
Although the little Versa is only a small 122hp (no doubt crank power) mine is such a joy to drive. I bought mine new in 2020 I currently have a little over 44k miles, and I STILL love driving it. I do have to admit, it does NOT like "speed shifts" I had a 2006 Sentra also bought brand new, THAT didn't mind speed shifts at all. The 20 Versa is really a fun little car to drive and is NOT hard to drive with the manual which I have.
I know the new gen sentra also has the crazy rev hang (the rpm not dropping very quickly), it’s emissions reasons so I assume that’s what’s happening in the new versas as well.
I had the auto for a rental it was honestly a great little car obviously overwhelmingly slow but who gets a Versa to speed around anyways
Plenty of zip around town.
@@DMCarReviews I felt accelerating between 25 and 50 mph around town wasn't bad. I didn't have a chance to drive it on the HWY but I did get the one I was test driving up to 60 mph. I'd imagine HWY driving wouldn't be as good as around town though.
@@irongoose3865 It gets up to 80-90 just fine.
@@irongoose3865 i cruise at 100 at 1800rpm
@@sauldelamora6712 with a CVT transmission?
NA is the best. Predictable and more reliable than something with a small turbo.
From my research, it seems like the push button start was discontinued in 2021 (for the manual transmission).
They are good but I totaled mine and the accident avoidance failed and the airbags also didn’t deploy so 😬. What makes it even more sad is that I only had it for 5 months 😢
I am so sorry to hear that.
How fast was the crash? Modern cars won't deploy airbags at lower speeds unless certain parameters are met.
Add the SR trim with that transmission and it is fun. Add a cold air intake then its really fun
That’s what I’d wish they’d do. My mom has a 2018 SV and the CVT then was mostly dreadful to deal with in spirited driving of any nature. I would’ve much preferred basic CVT behavior rather than this new era of “simulated shifting” with almost every car equipped with one. The third gen seems better in terms of CVT performance, but not entirely remedied.
Handling actually felt strangely confident when pushed hard, but was otherwise not very noteworthy in casual driving other than the small artificial weight to the wheel.
Just calm commuting was it’s strong suit; it could maintain sub-2000 rpm on the backroads if driven gently. Glad to see the success of the new generation Versa, but I wish Nissan would manufacture a manual transmission version for every trim…and add a sunroof. That would be the most well rounded subcompact one could buy today imo.
Only the versa s has a manual :(
They don’t offer a manual in the SR trim…
Trunk release is right beside the driver seat in the left side
Thank you! Great to know :)
Please test drive the refreshed 2023 Altima 2.5!
I will! I do have a 2023 Altima 2.0T on my channel though.
@@DMCarReviews Out of my price range sadly, I can only afford the base model S
Are you able to rev match when down shifting? I read somewhere on Reddit that it’s almost impossible to
Not sure
@@DMCarReviewsnope, this transmission you just get down to speed and put it at a lower gear, theirs no downshifitng in this one
Just picked up a used 2017 5 speed and enjoying it, so i've been watching videos like crazy. But man, I really hope Sheehy didn't watch this video! Clutch release at 3k+ from a red light like it's normal? Chirpin tires in first... That's not something i would have recorded. lol
So you think they sell such bad cars that fall apart after a 3k clutch release? That's not something nice to say about Sheehy. This video is called a test drive, and not a sunday drive.
@@DMCarReviews yes that's exactly verbatim what I said. The car will fall apart into pieces while releasing the clutch at 3k rpm.... Or maybe, it puts a ton of wear and tear on drivetrain components for the person who actually buys it. It sounded like maybe you just weren't very good at driving manual, and you blamed the car. "It's hard to launch", and chirping the tires at 3k rpm during every takeoff.
You probably lost a second on the 0-60 because you short shifted. Fuel cut is close to 7K RPMs.
Not really. There is nothing there power wise after 6500. Short shifting is actually better so its in its sweet spot.
lol With the way you drive a stick at the very least you'd need a new clutch in 20,000 miles. If not an engine. Lol
I just looked at a 2023 with the new ugly front end and sadly the rear seats on the base model still don't fold down.
I also lately test drove a 2020 model with the CVT and I have to say it was surprisingly zippy around town. One will have no problem passing slower traffic in the city and the car will go faster then most people drive so power is adequate. Just don't race anyone, at least not for money.
What is wrong with my stick driving? Care to explain?
@@DMCarReviews Looked a little rough to me. All that high RPM shifting will ware a clutch out faster.
@@irongoose3865 there was nothing wrong with his driving. You literally have to wind the crap out of a car with only 114 lb-tq.
@@irongoose3865 The launching is rough, but he is not going to do that all the time. It's only a demo. As for the high rpm shifting, you have to give it full throttle and shift at high revs...or this car will take a year to reach 60 mph. The torque on these engines does not peak until 4,400 rpm, where even there it's only 114 ft-lbs. People used to driving higher-powered vehicles will often press deeper onto the accelerator only to find out it's already floored.
I think its fine, he shifts it like its a motorcycle. The engine seems happy enough. @@DMCarReviews
Nothing says a realistic example video like cruising in fourth gear going 75. Everybody does this. I do it everyday in fact
Turn the traction control off and ease off the clutch. I have done it (0-60) in a spit above 10 seconds at about 96mph in a quarter
That’s slow but I’m looking at the 24 or 25 wanna get rid of my Acadia for a small manual car or something and thinking about a versa lol
I turn off everything for a "true" driving experience.
Point A to B car
Yes, it is.
Only 14k? Used or new????
It was 14K for new.
Damn.
It's 20k new where I live.
I'm picking up my new 2023, manual shift, on Mon 27th. It just arrived at the dealership yesterday. It's $17,240. That includes destination charge, splash guards, and carpeted floor mats. Of course state taxes will be an additional cost of 7.25%... that's $1250... then the dealer fee of $250... plus the title fees... should be out the door for right around $18,800
@@dougroberts3643 Very nice!
Rest assured, it is NOT "hard to launch"
FINALLY, I agree!!! YES, the little guy could benefit from a small turbo.
Reliability would suffer
@protectork9831 this is true, I just wished Nissan would make an AFFORDABLE Nismo version of thier entry levels though and WITHOUT the crap CVT transmission
Turbo it yourself then, the 1.6 is fine just as is
@Tragick_Sin can't, this little thing has to be reprogrammed after something as simply as a cold air intake. Believe me, I found out the hard way
@michaelmoore6776 damn no way it's hard,it's a super simple engine. What happened with yours?
Trunk release is on the floor. Little pull handle. Drivers side.
Thank you!
Push button too?!
Was gonna buy this then went with the kia forte instead. Both manuals but the kia has a 6 speed manual, an arm rest, and doesn't feel shaky at 65 mph+
The motor looks less quality than the old one. The old one had the 1.6 with a cast metal valve cover motor was all metal this looks like very plastiky at least they fix the stupid intake manifold on this one. The old one had a very odd and stupid design
For it's price, there is nothing to complain about
Trash this fake car transmission is not good
Womp womp I’m getting this cad
Just because a car has a 5 speed manual why do people always treat it like a muscle car? The Versa is a fuel economy car not a muscle car! So stupid seeing people abuse economy cars as if they're built for racing!
You can have fun with any car!
i got 19k in cash and might just get me one of these...rather than put me a down payment on a overpriced junk of metal thats going to get me to work and back and groceries
got the 24 manual 18k before tax
Just get a manual! 2k cheaper and Nissan CVts are known for reliability problems
not sure if you’ve already made a purchase but i would recommend getting a used toyota/honda because nissans depreciate a lot
@kpdapoo1066 don't care about depreciation, I care about a nice new cheap car that's going to last years and years. I'm looking at few manual versas that just got to my local dealer
@@golfguy25only unreliable if you don’t do maintenance on them on recommended 30k cycles. We have 200k+ mile altimas and everything coming in on original transmission
