Your videos are great! Very informative on a niche subject but not too long. I hope more people get a chance to see your stuff!

Hey I really enjoy your videos, as I was exploring the countries you usually cover over the course of the last year. I was wondering what your relations / inspiration is to talk about South East Asia particularly. Have you visited the countries and got interested in the culture so now you try to educate others about the history?
    Love from Germany

Very informative. I actually was surprised, as I was expecting the video to have many inaccuracies given the title (Jayavarman VII wasn't the first Buddhist king, but I didn't hear you say that he was in the video, just the title seems misleading). Aside from the title, the video itself was great and I'll check out more from your channel.

Love your vid as always, although I do like it when you cite your sources and further readings in the description. Makes for more reliability and integrity.

Our first buddhism was Mahayana Buddhism that was adopted since 5th to theravadi but it wasnt official yet as khmer buddhism society lives have been facing criticism over religion between hindu and buddhism until angkor wat was started to build in 10th but it was delay due to protest of khmer buddhism so king jayavarman7 devoted himself to buddhism to support khmer buddhism and the religious get united as angkor wat first project was nokor temple and when it get united it call angkor wat(nokor pagoda) and when angkor wat was almost finish in building king jayavarman7 declare himself to buddhism-hindu

Looks like a royal domestic scene with siblings in a box bed, queen (?) and new borns await the prince . He has horse and retainer - presumably not all in the chambers at the same time. It looks like a medieval composite illustration.
Really interesting account which bears on some of the world's greatest monuments.

@@causewaykayak Hmm, yes. It makes sense now. I'd thought the siblings' were outside the main room as some sort of servants' chamber. Perhaps the horse waiting nearby gave me that impression. But thanks!

@@brassendon’t listen to him, I am Cambodia. , in this scene , it is a story of Gautama Buddha’s past lives, when he was prince Vessentara in his previous form before he became the Buddha in recent form. This is a story of Prince Vessentara, in this scene , it is quite similar to Siddartha Gautama when he left his palace to rode his white Horse . You can read more in this Buddhist text, it’s called “Jataka Tales” or “Vessentara Tales”
