  • Very quick video just to show that you don't need a stereo "split" pedal or an ABY box to run both sides of the 120. And you can listen the result...yes it's worth it!

    This works with my older JC-120 (c.1985) also, acting as a blend control for both channels and to add more bass and mids. The jump can act as an effects loop too!

      I would like to know too. I just got an older like 1980 JC 120 and I’m learning/ searching for the best way to run it. All my effects except 1 Vox wah are in Boss GT 6. Please advise if you have time. Thanks:)

      For years I never even used CH. 1. You see how he is patching a lead from Ch. 2 High to Ch. 1 Low to get the bass definition. Take that patch lead into your effects chain first, before plugging it into Ch. 1 Low. Thats what I did with a Zoom GFX-707 for delay and boost. Play around with the impedance.

    I just received my brand new JC-120 a few days ago and have been playing my Epiphone Lucille stereo output electric guitar into my JC-120, each separate output jacks of my Lucille guitar into each separate input jack of the amp. Great stereo.
    Nice to know that by jumping as you showed us I can get stereo with any one of my single output jack guitars as well, as this indeed does work with my new JC-120. I tried my mixer yesterday and it worked but it was a hassle and I had to use multiple cables. I was sooner or later going to jump some cables into the send/return jacks on the back of the amp as from experience this works as well. But I like your method the best only one extra cable and very easy to do because it's on the front face of the amp.
    Mind you, Lucille can in and all by herself control the volumes and tone of both channels of the JC-120 at the same time, no reaching toward the amp to make adjustments and that is still the most direct and simplest way so I'll be using Lucille a lot. But now I can play in stereo with all of my other electric guitars and that's a big plus.
    I Subscribed because your video is truly helpful and I want to watch more of your videos.

    Thanks for this... I got a whole other JC-120 now that I have learned of this and it sounds better when it already sounded awesome before, this just added another level of awesomeness to the stereo image making it even fuller and the sound pops out like a neon sign saying I'm JC-120 and I am King of solid-state stereo combo amps!🤘😁

    Maybe a silly question but did you use a stereo 1/4" male jack cable or a mono 1/4" male jack cable? I would think mono and I don't want to blow out my new JC-120 amp. The best one I own now! Thank you for sharing as the book for the JC-120 is typical, JP guidance.

    I just bought a JC120 new - do you notice that when you engage the Vibrato or Chorus that one of the speakers becomes slightly louder than the other? And one of the speakers becomes a bit more hissy? Just wanted to know if this was normal or not

    • @TheSpaceGuitar
      @TheSpaceGuitar  Рік тому +1

      It’s normal if it’s subtle, if it’s an hard volume drop or an analog whistle from the modulation there is something wrong. This amp captures everything so it’s also possible that the hiss depends on the ground of your house electric circuit. The volume drop is normal if it’s unnoticeable if you don’t pay that much attention

    Hi my Friend, i'm Eddy. Got any advise for running my Boss GT-Pro and my JC120, i see you jump the channel, sounds good. Please elaborate to us what this exactly do. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheSpaceGuitar
      @TheSpaceGuitar  2 роки тому

      Hi Eddy, jumping channels works on modern JC120, at least on any 120 with stereo fx loop. When you jump channels you make both sides of the amp working together without the need of a stereo pedal, you plug straight in the amp and you can even have chorus and reverb from channel 1. Why doing so? Because the amp sound fuller. And remember that even.if you plug to both channel through a stereo output pedal, you are not having a stereo effect but a dual mono. Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already mate.

    I have just about every JC ever made ( my personal fave being the JC90 2 x 10 combo ) since this is an old solid state, aren’t you essentially just boosting the 2 Nd channel? I used an old DOD BiFet preAmp with much better results especially since this is a true Solid State, so you’ll have ZERO compression or SAG!

      Congratulations for your collection. Today I bought my first vintage JC an Italian JC85 and it's beyond great! I had the chance of buying a 160 some years ago but honestly was thin and subtle. The channel jumping is basically a way to play the full amp without a stereo splitter.

      What if i want to clean blend it but i want the sound comes in mono?
      Ch1 for clean, ch2 for slight distortion, both independent in eq and volume, but the sound is summed mono, equally in both speakers
      Can I do that?

    • @TheSpaceGuitar

      @@midianoctav yes you can. You need a splitter though, to have independent tones, eq and volumes. You won’t need the splitter if you use the internal distortion.

      I jumped both channels of the Jc120 to play with both amps (60+60w) without using a stereo pedal as a splitter. The result is a fuller sound and you can use the internal effects. This feature works only on the latest generations of the Jc120. Please subscribe
