People do forget how Max was pressing and overwhelming Poirier in rounds 3 and 4 until that knee to the face. And how he ran straight to the centre to duke out with Poirier in round 5. Cardio will never be an issue and if he's hitting harder, this could mean war.
Dude his strikes were doing nothing to Dustin. He cut his career even shorter with this one.

Max reminds me of Robert Whittaker in terms of what his trainer was saying where people have started to talk about them like they're old because they've been around forever, but they're both still in their early 30s which is often the prime of a fighters career. Ya, they've both had a lot of fights and wars, and damage can catch up to you, but they're not old by any means
Irony is Gaethje has taken more damage, been dropped and TKO'd multiple times, and he's 3 years older at 35
Idk why they say the early 30's is their prime, but the moment they hit 36 all of the sudden , theyre old lol. The way i see it is there is a prime for their body/athleticism. And a prime for their fight iq etc but they barely happen at the same time. By the time they get the knowledge. Theyre already beat up

I’m honestly glad that this fights happening now because Max has enough time on his hands to bulk up to lightweight, unlike when he fought Dustin, which was in short notice if I’m not mistaken
That fight was signed in February of 2019 and the fight itself was in April so he had about 2 months . Not enough time to bulk but it wasn’t short notice

You have to remember that he's fighting someone who's cutting more than him, so they weigh more on fight night. When you go up a weightclass, people get heavier

I lived in Hawaii for a while so I have to root for Max to win, plus I pull for the underdog when it's someone I like, but when it's all said and done I'm just glad the fights going to happen because it would be super epic if Max got the BMF title, if Justin defends it in a war then I'm not mad at all either.
