As a photographer who also always cherished this place so much (my family has been in Tokyo for many generations), it's so cool to see it through your lens! Stoked you got to make your dreams come true ~
Beautiful video. As someone living in Tokyo, I always look forward to your work. I’m truly moved that you came to Japan, a place I love, and created such a wonderful piece. Thank you. I hope this becomes a cherished memory for you. Thank you.
5:03 is one of my favorite photos from this video. And - wow - such a great rainy day film sequence from 7:38 to around 7:45. But you are always on the lookout for the best motifs for your photos, both in color and in black and white. Especially since in this big city you have to keep up with the hustle and bustle and the rapid flow of time. It's a pleasure to watch. Thanks!
Wonderful point of view of Tokyo. Inspiring me to go look for more shoots while I live in this amazing city. Thanks for the video Faizal. Keep them coming!
Excellent video and photos. Tokyo is indeed a photographer's dream place to be in. Capture moments, aesthetics, reflections, colors, mood, lighting, just about everying is there.
I just got back from visiting Japan for the past 2 weeks, if I saw all you guys just out and about I would've flipped out haha. Can't wait to see the rest of you photography from this stay of yours!!
Every time I watch your videos I think to myself, “man, Faizal really needs to get himself to Japan!”. I’m so glad you’re there now and I look forward to seeing more of the fun times I’m sure you’ll have. 行っていらっしゃい!!
Lil bro's having the time of his life. Enjoy! Such a great city, but make sure to get out of it too - the nature and rural towns of Japan are just as incredible!
Amazing work as usual. Really love the ton you give on those pictures, Im a fujifilm user and im trying to get a similar vibe with some recipes? Any advice please? Thank you
Fantastic city and you expose it well. I was there way back in the eighties, before smart phones and digital cameras. I remember it was very hard to find my way around, since, at that time at least, the signs and everything was in japanese, and I could not read it. Also nearly nobody spoke any english!
As you started showing images, I thought: “There is no better UA-cam photographer than Faisal - well perhaps Ulysses Aoki.” And then he appears later in your video. Just awesome seeing you in Tokyo and connecting with Ulysses, Alex, and Roman (at least who I recognized). Keep it up. You’re inspiring.
Such a nice walk to watch 🫶🏽! What parts of Tokyo would you recommend, to have a nice walk? I’m travelling to Tokyo in a week and can wait to be out in the streets! 🤩
There is something about the light in Japan that is so different from anywhere else in the world. It's not for nothing that so many camera manufacturers are based in Japan. I wonder if you've come across In Praise of Shadows by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki?
No disrespect to Faizal, I look up to him and deeply love and admire his work, but a commentary on photographers and street photographers specifically…I really feel like the creatives in this space are either just bored, or too caught up in hive mindedness to notice, but as of late, everyone seems to be focusing on and talking about the same things. It’s really made the content redundant. Every street photographer wants to upload a video covering the X100V/VI (or really any Fujifilm camera in general), talking about doing photography in Tokyo or NYC (obvious choices for a street photographer), reviewing the Ricoh GR iii, or giving advice on how to achieve “that cinematic look.” With so much gear out there, so many locations, and so many shooting methods, it’s makes no sense for everyone to only be focusing on such a criminally small demographic. I know social media algorithms play an important factor too, but even so, it just seems like the same gear, philosophies, and locations are passed around. Really would like to see more people in this space branch out a bit more.
Great comment- you're right, algos are a big part of it. Putting together a video (especially something like Faizal's) takes lots of time and effort. Street photography also doesn't pay the bills by design, so something has to... With all this in mind I 100% agree with you and comment taken into account.
As someone who lived there for 4 months. I highly recommend going out into “Old Japan” the country side (Nik-Ko/Kyoto ect) as well as coppin a short cheap flight to Okinawa as well to see a completely different side of Japan. Truly a remarkable place that is vast in its aesthetics. Cant wait to to back simply for documentation. Best of luck out there. Great work as always.
In the reflection on the train it looked like it might have been a DJI Pocket, but I didn't pause to inspect. I initially assumed it was a GoPro or similar but it had autofocus.

who asked?
From the music, if you like Japanese fusion I recommend bands like Casiopea and T-Square. ❤
Beautiful video. As someone living in Tokyo, I always look forward to your work. I’m truly moved that you came to Japan, a place I love, and created such a wonderful piece. Thank you. I hope this becomes a cherished memory for you. Thank you.
As someone who's been living in Tokyo for some years now, I'm very impressed what you've been able to capture, both in video and in your pictures.
So special! What an epic week of photography in Tokyo, great video Faizal.
Love the selection you have about music in your videos. It fits so well.
Your shoots get super emotional. And me too. Thanks

Words cannot express how excited I am to see the rest of your Tokyo series!
It was a very interesting video how people from other countries see my country!
Cinematic x Westcott x Tokyo 🇯🇵
A perfect combo
Mate! Thanks a lot for a video, and especially for jazz soundtrack, you have a really good taste for my opinion. Thx, I become a new subscriber.
Wonderful point of view of Tokyo. Inspiring me to go look for more shoots while I live in this amazing city. Thanks for the video Faizal. Keep them coming!

Lil bro's having the time of his life. Enjoy! Such a great city, but make sure to get out of it too - the nature and rural towns of Japan are just as incredible!

Very much appreciated 👍🏻🏴
9:20 What I loved [love] about Tokyo is that it's so densely populated [and I live in NYC]. Yet it has this calmness to it. I can't wait to return.
this video is what I've been waiting for the whole year
wow, it's nice to see other street photographers who i also follow on your video 💪

This vlog was so good! Look forward to more
Wow, ur getting some portfolio shots fs in Tokyo!
Thanks Faisal , well done , nice guest star with Roman !
Nice timing. I’m going to Tokyo myself in about a week. I expect to shoot tons of pictures. My fourth time there though, eleven years since last time.
It’s nice to know you are in Tokyo.
I’m not sure if you’ve already been, or planning to go, but you might like an area around Nakano station.
I really wanna visit Tokyo for the photography, so thank you for this video
That single tree between all the concrete at 05:45 is a really nice catch and picture.
Such a nice walk to watch 🫶🏽! What parts of Tokyo would you recommend, to have a nice walk?
I’m travelling to Tokyo in a week and can wait to be out in the streets! 🤩
Loved this! What camera are you using for POV?
Hey Faizal. How are you enjoying the XT-5. Would you recommend buying one?

Nice video, what is the tripod used in the intro? (Looks like a freewell or a photopro) I’m looking for a lightweight and fast opening tripod
Amazing video, I loved it 😍
Maybe you could discuss sometime how you plan and pack for a two month stay in another country?
Man that photo at 0:39 is insane!!
Very nice quality video!!!
my morning has been made !!!!
Hopefully Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be your next destination to captured everything do you want 🥰
Faizal the GOAT !
Great one Faizal! Seems I transfixed to Tokyo for 10 odd minutes! 😅
Wow, welcome to Tokyo.
Faizal and Aoki, that's a painting
Hi Faizal, when will you visit Australia and photograph Sydney?
Night shots so much better than day time shots.
Great video. I love Tokyo, but when I was there I was just thinking like a tourist. My next time there it will be all street photography.
for the POV video, did you use OP3 on the chest mount?
Love this video! How did you achieve the effect at 7:48?
I've just got here in the the few days ago!!! Wish to see you man!!!
Out of curiosity, what's your native language?
Did you all get together and go on a group UA-cam street photographers trip? Literally the amount of you guys posting vids there is insane
eyy, Roman Fox and a whole gang with you!
Rainy Tokyo is the best
Great set!
I'm reminded of.. 'Senses Working Overtime'
Damn the whole Japan street photography gang is there. So cool

Wow you were with Roman Fox there!! 👀 7:31
I'm thinking about getting an X-T5... but the size of the RAW-files worries me.. How do people feel about that?
So cool
do you use a chest mount for your osmo pocket 3? for pov shoots
Yes! Tokyo! Yes!
Thanks!

Hello, I would like to know what video camera you use to do P.O.V? Thank you great video thank you for sharing!
In the reflection on the train it looked like it might have been a DJI Pocket, but I didn't pause to inspect. I initially assumed it was a GoPro or similar but it had autofocus.
