- Ladies + gentleman, TODAY! We are going thrifting in Nashville, TN with one of my favorite people ever, Leah Pripps 💗 Back in August, we took a gal's trip to Nashville and did a little thrifting to see what gems we could uncover... We both found some fun things and finally, after a month and a half, this video is edited hahaha and I'm taking you along in this thrifting vlog, sharing what we came across, and at the end show you guys everything I picked up and tell you my hilarious, embarrassing, + traumatizing story that happened while thrifting 😂

In today's video, I'm finally sharing the Nashville thrifting adventure that Leah + I went on back in August! We had such a fun gal's trip, and though we spent most of our energy on the first night, we pushed on and tried to go thrifting and film something fun. Yeah, that was a 1000% the store’s fault. I’m not a confrontational person, but I absoLUTEly would have had words with them about that if that’s how they treated me. I’m so sorry that happened!
If I hadn't been so in shock and caught off-guard by the loud sound, I would've clapped right back 😠 especially now looking back because they were so in the wrong

I would have apologized but at the same time say it wasn't actually my fault it was the thrift stores fault if they hadn't of put the glass table with the ottoman in the most awkward place the trolley wouldnt have knocked into it and yes of course I would have been embarrassed jessicas reaction was a normal reaction the thrift store workers shouldn't have yelled at Jessica they should have understood it was an accident a mistake.

@@JessicaNeistadt - so sorry you went thru the embarrassment, and then the crappy attitudes from the staff. I soooo would've snapped back about the cart, and the idiots who set that whole mess up. Then telling them that THEY are lucky I/you didn't get hurt. I'm sure since then you've thought of things you could've said (well my brain does that when I've missed my moment).
So much chaos but I loved it all, except for the uber driver almost killing us, other than that 10/10 experience!
I think the employees scolded you because they knew they were in the wrong for the glass being propped up. If I had my wits about me, I would have responded with “No, YOU are lucky the glass didn’t break because this was a safety violation and you could be sued.” But I never think of the right thing to say at the time lol.
That would have been the *perfect* thing to say! I think when the glass hit the floor and made that loud sound, I was so startled and caught off guard that I just forgot all my words.
100% definitely a health and safety risk!! I used to work in a Home department and can safely say that's a risk. Completely understandable that you felt and embarrassed and panicked though. Horrible situation to be in. Whenever customer's would accidentally drop something or break something I would always try and make them feel at ease, especially if it was a lamp e.t.c or bigger peice.
As the others have said it sounds like they were trying to cover up their mistake by passing the blame onto you! I now work in Customer Service as a customer you deserved respect and to be talked to in a more appropriate manner ☺️
I am pissed off at the employees for you. They should have been making sure you were ok, not scolding you. Not cool!
Right!! Especially since they get the stuff donated to them! They are lucky it didn’t break and no one got hurt!!

The uber driver and the store employees all seem like terrible people, tryina make people feel bad. I definitely hope you complained about the uber driver. She shouldn't be driving and could definitely hurt somebody.
First of all sounds like the way they had that glass table and ottoman staged on their sales floor was a major safety violation. They are lucky that it didn’t break and no one got hurt. That could have ended way worse than it did. I hate that they made you feel the way you did. I would have made it clear that it would not have happened if they staged the items correctly in the first place. I’m sure you wish you would have said more to them in the moment, but when things like that happen it’s almost like your to in shock to get your point across. Glad you didn’t get hurt.
Those employees sound awful! I don’t know in what world you would scold a customer for knocking something over. It’s not like thrift stores have a “you break it, you buy it” policy. Uugghh I’m angry for you.
Leave a review for the Uber driver and those employees were out of line. You are absolutely correct and never be afraid to speak up. You are a well spoken young lady and I’m sure you would have been able to express yourself clearly. I also understand when you are shook it’s hard to.
I really liked the yellow long sleeve pairing! The black was cute too, but the yellow does seem a better fit

What I would of done, I wouldn’t of let them talk to me like that. Im the customer, and you are correct who does that! If anything they are the lucky ones because you are the elderly lady could of been hurt. Not your fault, it was definitely their fault. Thrift stores in TX are very friendly. At least where I live. But sorry that happened to you.

I don’t like to complain to companies. But I’d definitely call corporate and talk to them about how the store treated you. That is not ok. It wasn’t like you intentionally went out of your way to bump the cart. And the fact that they kept interrupting you. And not letting tell your side of the story and just assuming. The glass should not have been put up against the rack. What if it was a kid and not you. That could have definitely been more dangerous. Don’t feel embarrassed and you definitely had no reason to apologize. You can’t blame their killer cart on you. Lol. You hit the killer cart jackpot and that store definitely sucks for yelling at you. Sorry that you had to experience that. 💜

I live about 2 hours from Nashville and have been thrifting there a few times and never have much luck! There’s a thrift store about an hour or so away and it’s so much better! If you’re ever back in the area, would love to thrift with ya!

Oh Honey! Perhaps it is my age, but PLEASE, I BEG YOU, DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO 1) Be embarrassed for something that is OBVIOUSLY not your fault! 2) Realize that this could happen to ANYONE (And has!!!) 2) NO one should make ANYONE FEEL BAD,Y ABOUT AN ACCIDENT LIKE THAT 3) Please understand that no customer should EVER be scolded in that manner, and you have every right to state that (Clearly and loudly!) and then, if they insist on being so nasty, ask to speak with the manager!!! They were bullies, and you CANNOT internalize that! Obviously, it was not intentional, but the fact is they stored that glass in the wrong way! Besides all that, why would anyone in a thrift store scream at a customer when all the ITEMS in the store were donated for FREE! Just don’t allow people who behave like that, or even just ANY embarrassing situation, to ruin your day/week/life!!! You are an absolutely lovely, polite, caring person and don’t forget that is exactly how the vast majority of people see you! Everyone makes mistakes and accidents happen! The store’s big “mistake” was to inappropriately place glass pieces in such a way that it was an accident waiting to happen! Also, if you had gotten hurt from that glass, believe me, the court would have ruled against that store in a heartbeat!! Lastly, if the store wants to avoid problems, they could maintain decent shopping carts as well! Enough said! Don’t think about it for one second more!!!! (Or, at least, not after you finish reading all the support you will get from this video!😁). Loved all the things you picked up, but especially that paisley jacket!

Aww poor Jess 😭😭😭 if my sister had been there she would have throw that scolding right back at them not only because of the glass but also making sure to point out it was their carts (that didn't work) that caused things to happen the way they did.

Girl report that Uber driver. Sure you have to be aggressive driving here sometimes but she's lying that EVERYONE drives crazy haha. Most people in town just don't know how to drive lol.
We definitely did!! She was such an awful driver, we were like no way she should be on the road driving people 🥴

In most grocery stores where I unluckily dropped a bottle or sth like that, the employees were very friendly and cleaned it up. It's usual like this in Germany.
I would have said to those employees, I’m sorry, but my cart moved the wrong way and the glass just happened to be there..so maybe it should be moved 🤔 but anyhow loved that you guys explored together!

It was definitely the stores fault they should not have leant the glass up against the table like that. Also extremely unprofessional to keep having a go at a customer when they knew they were in the wrong. Don’t feel bad about it, you did nothing wrong! They should set the store out so it’s safe for customers to use, also accidents happen, it’s life, the store should prepare for every scenario.
