To get over top rated on eBay, you have to offer free shipping and free returns. So I am fine with just being top rated. Most items I do flat rate shipping of either 7.99 or 9.99 for heavier items.

The problem with getting to be a super duper whatever rated seller is you have to agree to ship in one day and I’m afraid I might not be able to do it occasionally and then would get dinged. I almost always do same day or one day but worry about what if I got sick, etc. But then again it very well may be worth the risk. I keep thinking about it and that gets me nowhere. lol
Ohh yes I switched to 3 day shipping when Goldie was born and have yet to switch back because having that buffer is so nice. But I think it's probably time anyways... I agree with you though--when you don't have someone else to do your shipping it can become cumbersome and risky
For your podcast may I suggest that you also record it and post it here to UA-cam? I personally have such a hard time just listening to podcast and honestly only listen to the ones that include the actual video. I know I’m not alone in this and a lot of people prefer it that way, it feels more personal rather than just listening to the voice. You actually get to see the person it could be included in this channel or maybe on its own channel and that will also provide you with extra income because you can monetize it.

Pretty sure you can do returns with the caveat that buyer pays shipping. I seldom have a problem with returns but have had a couple of nasty inads and they can do those regardless.
The problem is everyone is getting low-ball offers these days. I don't want to entertain it because then they continue to send them so I don't accept it if I know it's not worth my time.
@@MogiBeth On Mercari I usually just estimate and put 1 pound for clothing items and then choose USPS ground advantage. It comes out to 6.99, and the label says "up to 1 lb". If I think it's going to be over 1lb I just put in 2lb and choose UPS Sure Post for $7.99 - and then the label says "up to 2lbs".

So you put most of your listed inventory in plastic bags? Do you weigh those items in the bags before you put them away in storage?
I use reusable ziploc bags for storage but I don't ship them in those bags! I don't weight items beforehand. I do flat shipping on eBay!

Interesting! It looks like it has to be 30 day returns and I offer 14 day returns so it might be worth the switch.
I hate that the Poshmark labels aren't in order. If I have a lot to ship I go into each order and print from there because it's so annoying to me. Lol

Why are you paying shipping on Mercari. You should not be pay for shipping any platform, unless it is Poshmark.
Because I don't want to have to weigh out every item! That's why I do flat rate shipping on eBay too. But Mercari does not have that option.
