    Although this is on a Ryobi pressure washer with a robin Subaru 7 horsepower engine on the repair that I show will work on anything that is a 4-stroke horizontal engine such as Briggs & Stratton or Kawasaki. The pump is a standard pattern design and is easily removed as shown in the video so you're able to make the exchange of the pump usually within about 30 minutes total time. Sometimes as mentioned in the video the pump likes to stay connected to the engine output shaft but you should get lucky like in my case and it will come right off with no trouble. This repair also will work on Honda, Karcher, Generac, Devilbiss, Campbell Hausfeld, and many other popular power washers. The pump that I used in this video is good for 3000 psi and 3 gallons per minute. I hope this helps you out thanks.

    Hey, this was a great video! Seriously one of the best I’ve seen on UA-cam! You explain things extremely well, with lots of great tips along the way!

    Many thanks for this great DIY. Just about the same as replacing pump on my 10 year old XL 2600 Honda. I do think these pumps require oil change although I got no instructions, bolts, or parts bag of any kind with my pump. I'll run the hell out of it and maybe sell it next year. On the positive side, mine will now blow the chrome off of a Ford bumper. It's a beast, watch your hands!

    The word you were looking for (dissimilar metal corrosion) is galvanic, not caustic. Always a good idea to use never-seize on steel screws going into aluminum, just like you did on the shaft.

    I have the same machine (engine and pump) that I inherrited. It hasn't ben serviced for about 7 years. It started up on the first pull so engine is fine. I will replace spark plug, engine oil, and air filter. I will keep using the pump until it fails. in the meantime I'd like to extend its life as long as I can. Do you have any information about changing the oil in the original pump (type of oil, oil quantity, etc.) or any other pump maintenance that I can perform?
    Thanks.

    Hi I just replaced my older pump with one just like yours and it works great! But I got a question for you! Did you install the thermal valve on yours because I didn’t see that part! Does it works without it?

    • @Foxboss9
      @Foxboss9  5 років тому

      Yes, it won't work without the thermal valve the problem is is that when the pump overheats there will be no protection without the thermal valve so it will burn up

    It looks like the new pump is also sealed like the original. How many hours is that pump rated for before it goes bad?

    careful using copper no-sieze on what appears to be a machined aluminum on the pump. copper will eat aluminum! use the silver stuff
