I either charge over night (at home), or I plug into a supercharger while i run in the store. I don't wait, i just unplug and keep going when I come out. You can add about 100-150 miles while making a 10-12 minute store stop. Supercharging is still cheaper than gas.

Takes too much time, I will stick with my conventional car that I can refill my tank in 3 minutes.

FREE CHARGERS level 2 are like 7kwh; 4-7 hours--longer in winter. Type 4 chargers are even faster.

The power cord needs to be standard. It’s got to be stupid to not include a cord. 7:29

How long does the free public charging take from 20% to 80%?

  • @stephtraveler7378

All hypothetical. In real world, you get a couple hours here and there at low powered chargers and your decisions on where to go for the evening are based on having a charger available someone nearby. Sometime walking from a charger to your destination goes through some sketchy areas, at night...
EV's are great for 9 to 5 m-f commuters. Anything else is just use an ICE vehicle. Don't belive the hype, we have plenty of stored energy in the earth that will last 100's of years.

Can’t travel too well through Iowa in a gas vehicle either. Just have to plan your trips. Between the Tesla charging network (15,000+ chargers), EVGo network of non-Tesla chargers (30,000+ chargers), and the mobile charging kit with all adapters (any flow of pixies will do, especially RV parks)…. Traveling is definitely possible. There are a change in habits from my Silverado 3500HD and my Model 3, but you just have to think ahead.

😂😂😂😂😂 are you delusional??? I travel from Chicago to Portland Oregon. Please educate yourself. You know what is hilarious that people that always complain about electric vehicles are just hating on them because donald trump open his mouth and place his 2 cents opinion about them. After that everyone started being sheep 🐑. The most hilarious part is that people that complain about traveling don’t even travel. They lucky to even go out 100 miles out their house.

Just an observation from an undecided, possible, future Tesla Model 3 buyer: the message I am getting is, you HAVE to purchase the charging cable or you can not charge your car at home. Which means you are buying an electric car that you can not even charge. That is like buying a home appliance without an electrical cord. You provide some good information.

Exactly, and great job noticing that. They used to include the home charging cable with every car, but now they stopped including it because of a corporate decision. I was just in the sales center yesterday and a new owner was asking the same question, he had just taken delivery a couple days ago and didn't realize the charging situation (and the sales center doesn't sell the charger so you have to order it online!). Needless to say, this is a quirk with Tesla right now (maybe pandemic related) but it's fantastic that you are aware of it ahead of time. I ordered mine at the time of placing my most recent Tesla order, and it came in the mail 2 weeks before vehicle delivery.

You can still charge at Superchargers. The jury is out on whether supercharging all the time is a bad thing or an acceptable practice.

Hi! I have 2021 tesla model 3 long range. I used level 1 all the time. However, is it possible to charge twice a day? Is it okay with the battery? I usually charge my car to work which is level 1 and when I got home I charge level 1 again.
