Did a time-lapse project in my house looking out the window. battery lasted 2.5 hours. Went outside in the heat to do some video and it lasted about 1 hour (charged it before i left the house). Does the heat effect Wasabi batteries that much in your experience? or could there have been another reason? i was pretty surprised
It depends on the number of shots per hour. I normally get around 450 ish shots.. But I also do most my time-lapse at night with about 3 shots per minute.
They are just protection covers to keep from anything getting in between the contacts on the batteries. Now the larger LPE6 battery covers can be put on in both directions and feature a small battery symbol cut out in the cover. Since the back label is two different colors on Canon batteries you can use that to help you keep up with which batteries are full and which ones have been used. For the wasabi batteries I just mark the labels with permanent markers.
Well I have had the 10-22 for a good number of years before the 10-18 even came out. I had got it at a really good price. Also I find 10-22mm a more useful focal length then 10-18. But having Image Stabilization would be nice.
Enjoy your holiday Joe :-) I suspect you are going to be very happy with your Tamron 70 -200 G2 f2.8 if reviews thus far are anything to go by. I only use Nikon OEM batteries in my camera however I recently bought a Duracell EN EL15 just to see how it fares against my Nikon originals. It was around a third of the price and I'd like to think I can trust a 3rd party brand like Duracell as apposed to some no name alternative. I'm fortunate that I use a battery grip so in the event anything catastrophic happens with a battery ( like expanding or leaking) it won't damage my camera directly. If I were inserting them into the main body I would only use Nikon batteries because you can be sure they wouldn't touch it with a barge pole if a 3rd party battery was responsible for damaging the camera! :-P
Have a great and safe trip Joe. All the best to the family. Have fun!
Thank you Collin. We just got back home. :-)

What are yellow caps for? My Canon batteries have them and it says to use them, but I can't find out the reason.

Question: why the 10-22 instead of the 10-18 for traveling (which is far lighter)? Thanks!
