    How do you use such 140 - 160 dpi screens?
    - Do you use it in 1x low-dpi mode and deal with the small ui?
    - or do you use the 2x high-dpi mode and let mac scale it down?
    For me, mac os requires either 100-110 dpi for low-dpi mode or 200-220 dpi for high-dpi mode. But I'm really sensitive to none pixel perfect screens and I know that others don't notice the scaling artifacts, but I do. And a lot of guides recommend these 140 dpi 4k screens which look a lot worse to me than a 1440p 110dpi screen.

Not really), Ultrafine is not without its problems (build quality and WiFi issues) and the Samsung Viewfinity S9, when it comes out, will no doubt be on par price-wise with the Studio Display (do I need the smart TV features? Hard no!). A dumb 5K bare bones screen with that iMac's panel can be done for a grand, I'm sure. I'm all over that.

    This might be a stupid question but if the imac doesn't have target display anymore, how are you using it as a monitor? Thunderboldt to Thunderboldt? If that's the case I wonder if I can use my 2019 imac?? Just got a new laptop and need a monitor for video production ASAP.

    Samsung M8 issue.
    Hi there, thank you for the video 👍🏼 3:00 I do have a question that i hope you can confirm or have an answer for my problem. It concerns the M8 connected wired to the latest ipad M2 pro 12.9. When the connection is wired and lets say i’m watching the UA-cam app (or whatever i do on the monitor) of the samsung i can still use the ipad to do something else with an ipad app, but i don’t have sound on the ipad. I also can’t move the volume sliders of the ipad. I can use ear pods or a bluetooth speaker, but the speakers of the ipad i can’t. Am i missing out something? I did tried the samsung settings and searched the inet but can’t find an answer.
    Hope you or someone here has a solution for this. Thanks in advance!

    Must admit, the Alogic clarity is the only monitor there that doesn't bore me to tears.
    There is something about cheap plastic things that turns what should be a thrilling 10 hour day of creative bliss on the computer ... Into a boring stretch of neverending numbness.
    And then there is cheap and nasty keyboards.... Don't get me started on keyboards, or you will never hear the end of it

    What model LG ultrawide are you referring to? The link you use isn’t what you describe. And you said it was a 32” but I’m guessing that was an error. Im very interested in the monitor you showed here, but I can’t seem to find it online.
    UPDATE: this must be the 40” model. That one is curved with two thunderbolt ports. Happy accident is that the model you linked to is something I didn’t know existed and might be exactly what I want!! Thanks!!!

    It’s annoying to hear people say the Apple monitors are overpriced but no one can make a monitor with that level of quality and pixel density for anything close to the price
    This happened with phones too. The moment other manufacturers started going for fine finishes and quality build their prices matched Apple
    I do wish we could get the Studio Display for like 1200 instead of what it costs but I m not sure anyone can make that monitor for that price

    I just purchased a Dell Ultrasharp U3223QE and so far, I am very pleased with it. Honestly I don’t understand why this monitor is not getting more attention. It looks good, has a fantastic display, has pretty massive hub functionality, is not overloaded with pointless features and has a very solid build. Best part being it was a bargain compared to the Studio Display.

      Great to hear you're pleased with the U3223QE! I agree it's one of the best alternatives to the Studio Display with the larger screen, thin bezels, improved contrast ratio and USB hub. Obviously the lower PPI is the main drawback but if the PPI of a 32" 4K is good enough for a user, then this monitor is a really worth considering.

      How can you justify spending over a grand on this crappy LCD monitor when even a 55 inch OLED like the C1 costs less. I will never know

    • @murdockscott
      @murdockscott 2 роки тому +2

      @@lennylennington A quick search seems to find the 55" C1 costing on average about $300 more than what I paid. (I'm guessing they go on sale regularly?) Regardless, I am not into the TV as a monitor thing. I just don't have the room to sit that far back from a screen. Also, I am doubtful an OLED can match the color accuracy of an IPS panel and I am a photographer whose clients demand good color. I see people doing the big TV style monitors and have been curious, but I can't see this working for me and my workflow.

    • @sergiostockfleth823
      @sergiostockfleth823 2 роки тому +2

      @@lennylennington While I agree with you that OLEDS are awesome, I would, for professional use, also choose something more along the lines of the Dell 32" monitor, or any of the monitors mentioned in the video, rather than trying to fit a 55" OLED display on my small height adjustable table in the office. My colleagues would roll around on the floor laughing...... It would also be troublesome with the protective auto dim feature, to be able to safely tell colors apart, and for extended hours of CAD work, I would be a bit worried about burn in.
      However, I would consider an OLED when they make them in or around 32" 🙂 At home I have a 48" OLED with 120Hz as a tv/streaming screen and for that it is perfect.

    I really want a 5K display for my Mac to have that crisp sharpness I've been used to for ages on my iMac but I also have a gaming PC and only have room for one monitor. But neither the ASD or LG Ultrafine 5K work well with a Windows PC and a pain in the *** to connect having to rely on special cables etc and then have to manually switch between the Mac and PC will just be a further annoyance.
    Because of the above I'm forced to find a monitor with lower ppi.
    The new Samsung Viewfinity S9 5K display could be an option as it has multiple inputs, but its still rather expensive for my budget. Maybe it will get cheaper for Black Friday or just have to take a chance with a lower ppi screen and hope it will be okay...
    For reference I'm a graphic/UI designer and also a music producer using Ableton.
