Dr's Pass where you started the morning is awesome. I grew up in Naples. We have caught tons of species there from grouper, tarpon, loads of snook, spanish mackeral, jacks, and cobia. usually you can't get skunked there but yes the water wasn't looking very good. Hope you all had a great time in Naples.
Not seeing bait mean the tide is out. Best to fish in salt water on high tides. I could tell the tide was out! Oil rig plate forms, Jetties, piers, boat dock, and bridges are good places to fish for salt water fish. If the tide is out? YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO HOME ! > Salt water fish, schools with in high tides. That goes with shell fish to
Cool video, I love the South Florida stuff. I should be fishin' for rainbow bass, cousins of peacock bass, in Costa Rica Tuesday. We're going next to a live volcano in a big man-made lake. Then I'm going to the Pacific beaches for snook, snapper and rooster fish. Should be fun. I'm thinking about filming if the fishin' is good. Might make a good way to start a UA-cam channel. Check out guapote in Lake Arenal if you want to see what the big cichlids are like.
If you're by Naples you will be catching Bass and Cichlids in addition to Snook and or Tarpon depending on the location Fracahatchee/Picayune Forest.. Seems funny seeing you guys fish where I've fished. lol Matt, I think you are the most like me out of that group. lol I'm heading over to the Everglades Feb. 3rd, always a fun trip and loads of Big Pecocks.
Great peacock bass. Awesome vid. My wife out fish's me every time we go fishing. Hope yall have a wonderful time down there and I will see you on the next vid
I’m getting ready to do some freshwater fishing myself, one day hope to catch some peacocks. I do t think they are up where I’m at in NE Florida, so I’m have to find time to fish when I head down south FL. Thanks as always for the great content. SO GLAD to see Courtney out there with you! Go Fishin’ Girls!
I am jealous... Always wanted to fish those canals for peacock bass. It is always ironic, taking the wife fishing, and she pulls out a lunker fish! Looks like you guys had a blast. I have seen that peacock bass love to smash a top water poppers, & even a top water spinner bait! Very aggresive fish. You guys should try them on the fly rod!
OMG it's bloopers live LoL 😂 thanks 👍 also when Bank fishing for all us pro's 😂 know how to use a net worth saving The stress of dropping phones And fish 🐠 Nice catch Courtney
Love that kast master, caught so many salty critters on it and was able to get a 45lbs striper to the kayak here at Lake Powell UT. Thanks for the great videos, you're my favorite click baiter!
This is awesome and definitely on my bucket list!! So maybe y’all will know better than me why do they get so big in the Amazon river but you never see even 10 pounders here??? Also there’s different kinds of peacock but the ones with the stripes are the biggest reaching 20 plus pounds in the Amazon (I think)!
That jetty in the first clip is actually a great fishing spot on the spring/summer. Usually loaded with snook, tarpon, pompano, mackerel, jacks, and sheep’s.
Docs Pass? Caught my first Snook there on an outgoing it was loaded with bait. Awesome feeding when I was there Snook had the minnows pushed up to the rocks Dolphin had the Snook Pushed up. Saw a Dolphin eat a Snook 3 ft from my feet. On the walk out that morning I also saw a Trail where a Turtle came up and nested. Confirmed the trail when the guys came and marked it after sunrise. Another trip my son(8) caught his first Mangrove there off the channel marker! Shame it did not work for you that day. Good spot to try though.
I'm not sure where you're fishing back when I was a young follow. Every backwater canal in South Florida looked just like the one you're fishing at 67. This brings back memories. My father built the bridges through alligator alley. I think it's called IH 75 now.
A lot of my friends are still picking up a lot of glass on the beaches here in Fort Myers. Be careful & good luck. Wish I wasn’t so busy with work or I’d try & join y’all.
Hello bamabeachbum I live and fish not too far where you were all at. Its been tough on the beaches with all the wind and cold fronts coming through plus after Ian theres been nothing but lizardfish, you might have better luck further south or in the back bays
Sent you & Brant a link to an auction that has a bunch of retail displays & equipment from a defunct Gander Outdoor store... you might find some things for your store...
Peacock Bass (not actually a bass, but a cichlid like oscars and tilapia) were introduced by FWC as an attempt at biological control of invasive species and an alternative sports fish. The ones you were catching are worth about $100AUD in the aquarium trade here in Australia.
It is against the law to transport a live peacock in Florida so they definitely aren’t going in an aquarium. I think you can buy them through a pet store you just can’t move live ones you catch yourself.
great video as usual. thank you. So were you able to go by your old secret spot or is the damage still too bad from the hurricane. I was going to check it out last year but the hurricane hit 2 weeks before I went down there to see my brother. I went fishing for peacocks once several years ago down in Miami. This makes me start to get the itch again. As usual our wife's catches the bigger fish. lol
There are places in Florida, where you can eat, banquets every night, from land. The only things you have to buy are things like butter, a few vegetables, and CHOCOLATE😂! If you know what the different wild vegetables are, you may not even have to buy vegetables. I love Florida.
Yes, peacocks are not native to Florida. However, they were intentionally released in the late 80s or early 90s by FWC. In an attempt to control the tilapia population that was out of control. You couldn't keep them back in the day, and only in the past 20 years have they become sufficient enough to target and catch regularly. So you shouldn't treat them as evasive because they do serve a purpose.
I need a solid casting spoon as I’m headed to HI in a few weeks. What spoon was that, and can you hook me up with one? I’d pay, and shipping too friend!
I’m a Naples local and a fisherman that was a grouper that Jerry has a lot of big snook and the water was super dirty when y’all were here which isn’t good if y’all ever down here again, let me know and I’ll let you guys know where its been good
Great video you and your beautiful wife she is getting better and better I think I might have 2 heroes now ohh and don't cut your hair it's so dam cool
I wouldn't worry too much about Cougars. They're pretty smart and stay away from humans. Most Cougar encounters in my area happen when a duck hunter is hidden in the reeds and is calling in ducks. The Cougar thinks he is jumping a duck - then runs when he realizes his mistake
Nothing personal here, but while you are manning the new Tackle shop, is Courtney going to be do the "Bikini Beach Bum" show? I think she can up your following numbers! Just saying... 😁
I was just wondering, Florida has a lot of invasive species the optimal word is invasive.. why do you return them free instead of dispatching them? I live in Maine and if you bring in any invasive, be it fish, animal or plant the state will take your house , your firstborn and hopefully your wife.
Dr's Pass where you started the morning is awesome. I grew up in Naples. Courtney's excitement makes me so happy ❤
It's nice seeing y'all occassionally fish together. All couples should do this. If nothing else, you get a meal or 3, and time to just be natural.

Great video Bama & all! Some great catching going on and awesome to see Courtney getting some big ones.

Fun stuff. Loving the dynamic of this trip. Keep on fishing! Thank you
Wish pa had places like this 😞
Courtney needs to start her own channel. “Bama Beach Girl”
"Bama Beach Babe" keeping it with the triple B lol
@@hunterjohnson8202 was gunna use Bama Beach Babe. But, Matt would have got mad. 🤪
@@stripermanly lollll nahhhh!!! Just gotta keep that 3 B name with him! Lol
When I got into bass fishing, I always thought it’d be cool to catch one of the peacock bass.
You go girl
Another great video Matthew. Congratulations to both of you and Courtney on your new PB peacock bass. Y'all keep up the great work

Entertaining as always! Congrats on the first peacock! Still on my bucket list

I’m getting ready to do some freshwater fishing myself, one day hope to catch some peacocks. What a great time you guys and Courtney are having.
Really enjoyed it.
Great Video, thanks!!
One of your best videos. 👌
Thank you for the video. I wish you great success with the new bait store,
Flip flops on those rocks, sphincter factor 11. Encountering Panthers in flip flops, sphincter factor 0. 0 = poop your pants.😳

i was just over by that pass a few days ago down in Naples its real slow, yall should try the marco island or Bonita beaches
Love that kast master, caught so many salty critters on it and was able to get a 45lbs striper to the kayak here at Lake Powell UT. Thanks for the great videos, you're my favorite click baiter!

She 100% walkin on them rocks like a 95 y/o woman😂😂😂😂 at first I was like who tf is that?🤣
some great fishing.
Ive got my everglades trip for this year scheduled, you guys are getting me fired up!!
Looks like you guys are in Picayune state park!
"We're on a salt water fish'n excursion". OK, but you're fish'n with shiners in afresh water canal. 🤪😜😝😆🤣😂😅
Looks like a mayan cichlid aka atomic sunfish I catch them when I'm backwater pond hoping for micro tarpon in central Florida

Good vid BumMeister! Agree with the comment that Courtney should start a channel. Love it when you guys do a collaboration!
Awesome, what part of south Florida was this?
Awesome video. Those were some amazing fish
Love the South Florida trips!

No flip-flops when fishing away from beach. lol 😂
A lot of my friends are still picking up a lot of glass on the beaches here in Fort Myers. Be careful & good luck. Wish I wasn’t so busy with work or I’d try & join y’all.
Are y’all going to be here next week? I got a good spot.
Dropped off is right. Down there 3 weeks ago and deeper water hard to find and parking not at all what it used to be in Naples.
You need to try the "Quarry Lakes", on the road between Everglades city and Alligator Alley, check the maps there are multiple lakes, good place.
Brant is hilarious with the tiny rod. Does he do any Florida ice fishing with that?
That was so cool 😂

Courtney was doing awesome today!
Coutney is a trooper!
That 2nd spot yall went to is my go to spot

Rocky start to the day!
Great video too bad she kicked your butt LOL glad you guys finally got your peacock bass
Now that's true fishing with all the little hiccups 😆
Matt how come you can handle the rocks on the Cape Cod Canal but not some sandy beach in Florida 🤣🇺🇸🙏😎
great video as usual. thank you. So were you able to go by your old secret spot or is the damage still too bad from the hurricane. Now it's time to try one for supper !
Pretty fish 🎣 th Matt cheers Ricky 🧜🏼♂️🦐💦🦀🙏
I think the flip flops were not the best of choice in the shoe department!!! Great video.

This 👍 is for Courtney and her 1st peacock bass!
were you fishing on 41 or offshoot roads?
Thank you , Brant for not wearing flip flops.
Thumbs up for coming down here.
I need a solid casting spoon as I’m headed to HI in a few weeks. What spoon was that, and can you hook me up with one? I’d pay, and shipping too friend!
Oscar's are just as good as bream to eat ,, my favorite fish to eat,, salt water is big crocker, the bream of salt water
I’m a Naples local and a fisherman that was a grouper that Jerry has a lot of big snook and the water was super dirty when y’all were here which isn’t good if y’all ever down here again, let me know and I’ll let you guys know where its been good
Don’t give ‘em ALL the Naples spots 😉
Nice peacocks y'all, WTG Courtney
Nice release of the phone! 😂
Great video you and your beautiful wife she is getting better and better I think I might have 2 heroes now ohh and don't cut your hair it's so dam cool
Oh, put me in coach I am ready to play today!!!!
Aquarium fishing woot
Dudes you should check out the Colombian peacocks those things are monsters. A 9 lb peacock over there is considered small.
Just saw Ayo & Yak Pak talking about the tackle shop on their Reel Deal Podcast.
Why did you put a black panther in your thumbnail ?
Only have to be faster than the slowest person in a Panther situation! Lmao
Great vid Bamma. On a side note, how goes the life of the surviving duck?
We used to catch those Oscars down in Panama. They are tasty!
❤
I wouldn't worry too much about Cougars. They're pretty smart and stay away from humans. Most Cougar encounters in my area happen when a duck hunter is hidden in the reeds and is calling in ducks. The Cougar thinks he is jumping a duck - then runs when he realizes his mistake
Oscars are cichlids, and cichlids are aggressive fish. I had one in a fish tank years ago.
Hey guys next time you go through town some different shoes might save a fall.
Nothing personal here, but while you are manning the new Tackle shop, is Courtney going to be do the "Bikini Beach Bum" show? I think she can up your following numbers! Just saying... 😁
Out over everything to pack... forget about the shoes lol
steep banks are a challenge, to be sure, be safe, avoid the gater bait stance...
I was just wondering, Florida has a lot of invasive species the optimal word is invasive.. why do you return them free instead of dispatching them? I live in Maine and if you bring in any invasive, be it fish, animal or plant the state will take your house , your firstborn and hopefully your wife.
