I doubt that the toob will allow me to post this, but the Wire on the Tool is called a "Prick" for cleaning the Nipple. I don't understand what the problem is with that, seeing those were and still are technical terms for muzzle loaders?
Friggine awsome man, congrats. This is. what gets my blood pumping. It doesn't bother me a bit. that it's not me finding it, I get just as excited when you do. really, really nice finds. ;o)
Love your videos. Quick question: what’s your discount code and what site accepts it? Looking to purchase a new detector here and it seems I heard you mention a code and was it detector warehouse?
Wow, what a great find!!! My dad was a muzzleloader gunsmith and he built muzzleloader rifles from scratch. The only thing he didn't build on Many of them was the barrels. He would have loved your videos, especially this one!!
Excellente! That gun tool followed by the ramrod overshadowed the New York button! I keep sayin it and I'm sayin it again, this season looks like it's going to be off the charts! Outstanding! Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment! 👍
Chigg you are my favorite metal Detectorous because of all the cool knowledge you have about the things you find. I learn so much everytime I watch your videos so ty for that.God bless you and your family my friend.
Man Chigg, That gun tool was an awesome find. I see you were even able to show the pick still intact. That was rusty gold right there. 👍 Congrats, Doug in NC
It's a Pattern 1855 Private's Y Tool for the Enfield rifle. Definitely British import during the war. The knob on the top is the head for an oiler, as the body of the tool is hollowed out to hold gun oil. If the oiler 'head' is flat it is a first model, if it is round it is a 2nd model. See page 138 of 'Suppliers to the Confederacy' Vol. II
Hi Chig, JMK FROM THE UK here, just watching you talking about the piece of curry comb, and you saying that people didn't believe you when you said that they existed in civil war times, well I dug in the archives and found that it was first mentioned in the writing of Thomas Tusser in 1573, some agricultural thing I think, but you're right, made my day, stay safe 👍👌
Chig, that odd grooved minie ball may be a US machine stamped one made for the odd 54 cal 1854 Austrian Lorenz Rifle musket. The union troops often had this gun from local armories and converted them to 58 cal at the early days of the war. CS could have had them the same way. Gun sometimes called Austrian Humbug.
I have found a lot of those hand forged iron pieces with the one threaded end at a circa 1820-1890 site in ontario canada. I hope they have a more interesting use than a farm implement
What's interesting is so many people dig up fired bullets that hit an object. (Most likely trees) While the area is devoid of trees. So sad that we are cutting down trees with reckless abandon.
14:54 - *Congrats* Beau!!! What an amazing find!!! Question: My Friend gave me his Father's unused 'Sears' brand metal detector. When I turn it on it has a constant high pitched beep similar to the pin-pointer. Nothing that I do makes this machine stop screaming. There is nothing metal on the loop, etc. Have you ever heard of this with a metal detector before? Maybe it's broken???
Yes, as you know probably better than anyone. It’s getting harder and harder to find good places to hunt on ground, but it’s worth every minute. You never know.
Most awesome! I will NEVER get tired of watching your vids Chigg. I'm having some trouble getting out right now, but I'm using my downtime for research. Without giving up your secrets, what's your main source of reference for looking for campsites and routes of march. I'm raring to get out there, I just have to figure out where to go. Have a blessed day Beau!
that ny state button is sweet! it would make an interesting display showing all the junk iron you dug before you got a decent iron target. what a great day! lots of good relics! do you think the brass curry comb could be confederate due to iron shortage?

Good Find today. GO CHIG💥
Coming from a NY resident, those are some really awesome finds, Chigg.
That Enfield tool is a real treat! Having the pick too.😊
Nicest, most complete one I've ever seen - wow!
We use a screw type patch retriever on the ramrod to get patches that get hung up in the barrel.
What a day full of excellent finds. Thanks for the cleaned up "after" photos.

Have you seen the new lung tank snorkel gear ? Maybe good for your river searches
Just checked it out. Looks pretty bulky and uncomfortable. Thanks for letting me know it's out there.

What's the difference between modern non plated and civil war era buckshot?
Can you do a restoring video on that gun wrench and ramrod
that ny state button is sweet!
it would make an interesting display showing all the junk iron you dug before you got a decent iron target.

do you think the brass curry comb could be confederate due to iron shortage?
Opposum
How are the kittens??? Video coming soon???
Sure, I can do that. They are fine.
@@aquachigger Ghost! 😀
niiiice!!!
What large coil do you recommend for the AT Pro do you use the reaper coil or will it work on the AT
Yes, I use the Reaper most of the time.
11:49 kinda looks like a bullet or shrapnel strike on it. maybe it was hit in the soldiers cartridge box so he dumped it.
Did you find anything in your own yard? I am wondering 💐
😀
Lol they must of brushed the horse then put it out of misery... I hope not lol
Has anyone told U, U look like Shea Whigham the actor
When are you going back to Maine and Capt Billy?? Tired of Civil War stuff.
Must be a mainer too or something, lol. Civil War stuff is top tier
