I've wanted to watch this movie for quite some time. For one reason or another, it just didn't work out. Until I find myself in possession of this movie, thinking with my luck it's be scar arched and unwatchable, I tried it. Looking back (after watching it) it was a beautiful movie, to say that it was quality in every aspect (not like many movies nowadays). It's a story of love, torn apart by war, life and evil. Through it all, they fight to be with one another. Great characters (except the Joker-like Bosie). A few unnecessary scenes amd lines that take away from the story and potential of its greatness, but other than that it's almost perfection. A movie I'd definitely re-watch, but hesitate to keep. If you enjoy a struggling romance or sad films, this might be the watch for you. #MajestikReviews
@@theblueknight9746 its cheaper, and lots of places with no electrical transmission lines etc. Lots of Western films have been filmed in Eastern Europe.
Why did these North Carolina mountain folk side with the confederacy exactly? They hated the wealthy tidewater slave owning plantation folks. Guess the book has answers to that.
I wouldn't know but I'm sure that a southern accent from that time doesn't sound the same as they do today. I gather from reading accounts with their flawed speech.
Thank you so much for this awesome movie
Every southern state had units fighting for THE UNION except South Carolina. It truly was a civil war. A very bloody affair.
And if you know anything or pay attention they're in North Carolina not South Carolina
@@keangreene4495 really that's not north Carolina its Romania
And even South Carolina had Unionist individuals who joined up with other Union regiments.

There was a lot of atrocities on both sides.

Actually , the mountains of NC weren’t exactly a hotbed of confederate sympathy during the CW.
