When i found my current artist, I was actually getting work done by another artist in the same shop. At the time, she told me that their shops' owners (John) wife got a BUNCH of PR and that was why they had a ton of boxes of makeup in the break room....this was probably 3 or 4 years ago now. If I'm connecting the right dots, your husband's shop is beautiful and the artists he employs are amazing! Plus, it's a super small world. Happy to be here and getting a 'road so far'!

5:51 I feel this way now. I’m disabled with severe narcolepsy and Hypermobile Ehlers danlos syndrome. I lost my ability to work, to drive, and my husband works all day. So I’m by myself alone all day. But UA-cam channel like this one and others make me feel less lonely. I miss being able to work. I miss having friends I can drive to and see. I live in the rural outskirts of Clark county Kentucky. I feel secluded and isolated. My family lives an hour and 45 minutes away. And my husband’s family lives an hour away. It’s been especially difficult recently. I so very much appreciate your channel. Mad love to you.
I'm just shy of an EDS diagnosis myself. I can't pass any of the evaluation tests because I have arthritis in almost every joint in my body from them being hypermobie before it was a thing. It is truly a PITA. I had to leave a job I loved in 2018 because of my collection of conditions. My life is significantly smaller than I thought middle-age would be.
Same, I have EDS too, so isolated sometimes, limits me so much ❤️ sending you an extra spoon and hoping today is one of your good days but if it isn’t be kind to yourself ❤

I went thru similar when I had my 1st child almost 32 years ago. None of my own family around but sure had plenty of critical in-laws who made it close to impossible for me to do things my way. I hope things change for you soon. Caring for a lit’l when you’re without support is difficult.
I have been on disability since 2017. Living chronically ill. I have always looked forward to laying down on Sundays to listen to your live. When my head was pounding and my eyes were blurry. I would even go back and listen to old videos on a play list. So comforting, like having a friend there chatting to me knowing I don’t feel well but still keeping me in the loop. ❤

I remember you saying at the time that you wanted to pivot away from focusing primarily on reviews. Really love that you made this video. You've mentioned many snippets in videos over time (think I've been subbed since 2019??) so I knew general things like you used to teach and review subscription boxes, but didn't know the timeline or more details. I also really appreciated how you included how real world problems like your living situation and income affected your UA-cam productivity in various ways. I was (still am) a SAHM and after each of my 2 kiddos were born, makeup videos were also the thing that kept me company during nap times and late nights, when everyone else was at work or sleeping. I still find them so comforting. And even decided to start making my own last year. Hopefully I can be that comfort for someone else. ❤

Jen you are the cutest dork ever. I was a young teen during old UA-cam days, time to feel old I turned 30 this year lmao. I used to make anime music videos (AMVs) and Top Gear music videos on a old channel. Being a lonely bullied teen with Autism and ADHD I found comfort in the fact that there were regular fans who would comment on my videos and we'd talk in the comments for ages. I had people who liked my dorky hyper focus obsessions and didn't judge me for being a hyper fangirl of Top Gear or something. You talking about finding comfort in a lonely time making videos on your webcam reminded me of how much making my old videos got me through school. You have grown so much and became one hell of a power house with amazing videos. I am sadly now physically disabled with chronic pain and in bed most of the time, where watching videos helps me pass the time when I'm in agony feeling useless. Your videos are a life saver. Thank you for entertaining and educating me when I'm at my lowest. OMG! The NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in milk that takes me back when EVERYONE had to have one and raved on about it.
The same experience happened to me strolling through UA-cam and finding the beauty community. I was immediately interested and has been with a passion for beauty to this day. Learning that you used to be a teacher suddenly explained for me how your videos are so well-researched, clear, and linear! I really enjoy the way you tell a story of the history of a brand or famous youtuber. I haven't seen many people do that in a way where I really feel like I get all the relevant information. I only recently started watching your videos. I am one of the folks that found you through the lisa frank video, though in a roundabout way. Another youtuber I follow wanted to make some lisa frank inspired art and was asking people to tag lisa frank to get the company's attention. Someone in the comments said "Yeah, maybe don't do that" and talked about seeing a youtube video about being scammed by Lisa frank. I searched it on youtube, clicked on someone else's video (whose story-telling style I found frustrating) and as soon as she recommended your video, I hopped over and then kept on watching! The only part of WUIM I miss is the artist shoutout. I loved seeing that each week but I LOVE the segments broken up. Every Sunday I look forward to the news segment, you find such intense stories & stuff I’d never hear about otherwise. I’ve learned a lot from it. I love the behind the controversy & the beauty type stories, it’s different. You’ve def carved a niche all your own in that regard. This was SUCH an interesting story to hear. From when you first posted it I saved it to get back to when I could.
You took me back to the good old days. I remember LOVING xSparkage/Leesha and her whole corner of the color world. I've gone through SO MANY Nyx jumbo shadow pencils in milk because of Leesha. So very much deserved, Jen! Your success proves you right. You've been killing it recently with your investigative content! You're filling a gap , and you do it in an informative, engaging and interactive way. I relate to your story a little - when I came to America (for my husband's job), I had left a well-paid high level job, here, I had no job, no work permit, no car, in a suburbian subdivision with not even a grocery store in walking distance. I was stranded. The mall was a half hour walk, to I trailed there everyday. That doesn't fill the time. I also started watching UA-cam (and volunteering and going back to school), but for a time, it was a way to keep my brain cells entertained. Keep doing what you're doing! Mad love 😄❤️

Loved this video! I have to say, I watch your channel for every type of video but one thing that drew me to this channel was makeup news. I grew up living with various grandparents and I loved to watch the news with them so it’s nostalgic for me, but watching the real news is often so negative I had to stop because it was causing anxiety. Being able to watch your makeup news fulfills that nostalgia I have for watching the news with my grandparents and it’s a bonus that I love makeup and genuinely enjoy learning about everything you share!! I have been on disability since 2017. Living chronically ill. I have always looked forward to laying down on Sundays to listen to your live. When my head was pounding and my eyes were blurry. I would even go back and listen to old videos on a play list. So comforting, like having a friend there chatting to me knowing I don’t feel well but still keeping me in the loop. ❤
I'm surprised you didn't include the channel name change from JenLuvsReviews to Jen Luv during the last chapter! I remember you saying at the time that you wanted to pivot away from focusing primarily on reviews.
Really love that you made this video. You've mentioned many snippets in videos over time (think I've been subbed since 2019??) so I knew general things like you used to teach and review subscription boxes, but didn't know the timeline or more details. I also really appreciated how you included how real world problems like your living situation and income affected your UA-cam productivity in various ways. Definitely didn't expect to cry 2-3 times during it either lol. That clip of tiny Phoenix being sassy was so friggin adorable. 🤣 Ok I'll stop rambling now!
I was (still am) a SAHM and after each of my 2 kiddos were born, makeup videos were also the thing that kept me company during nap times and late nights, when everyone else was at work or sleeping. I still find them so comforting. And even decided to start making my own last year. Hopefully I can be that comfort for someone else. ❤

I was a young teen during old UA-cam days, time to feel old I turned 30 this year lmao. I used to make anime music videos (AMVs) and Top Gear music videos on a old channel. Being a lonely bullied teen with Autism and ADHD I found comfort in the fact that there were regular fans who would comment on my videos and we'd talk in the comments for ages. I had people who liked my dorky hyper focus obsessions and didn't judge me for being a hyper fangirl of Top Gear or something. You talking about finding comfort in a lonely time making videos on your webcam reminded me of how much making my old videos got me through school. You have grown so much and became one hell of a power house with amazing videos.
I am sadly now physically disabled with chronic pain and in bed most of the time, where watching videos helps me pass the time when I'm in agony feeling useless. Your videos are a life saver. Thank you for entertaining and educating me when I'm at my lowest.

The same experience happened to me strolling through UA-cam and finding the beauty community. I was immediately interested and has been with a passion for beauty to this day. Learning that you used to be a teacher suddenly explained for me how your videos are so well-researched, clear, and linear! I really enjoy the way you tell a story of the history of a brand or famous youtuber. I haven't seen many people do that in a way where I really feel like I get all the relevant information.
I only recently started watching your videos. I am one of the folks that found you through the lisa frank video, though in a roundabout way. Another youtuber I follow wanted to make some lisa frank inspired art and was asking people to tag lisa frank to get the company's attention. Someone in the comments said "Yeah, maybe don't do that" and talked about seeing a youtube video about being scammed by Lisa frank. I searched it on youtube, clicked on someone else's video (whose story-telling style I found frustrating) and as soon as she recommended your video, I hopped over and then kept on watching!

I love the behind the controversy & the beauty type stories, it’s different. You’ve def carved a niche all your own in that regard. This was SUCH an interesting story to hear. From when you first posted it I saved it to get back to when I could.

You took me back to the good old days. I remember LOVING xSparkage/Leesha and her whole corner of the color world. I've gone through SO MANY Nyx jumbo shadow pencils in milk because of Leesha. I adored her disney series she did. And makeup geek taught me so much about application.

You're filling a gap , and you do it in an informative, engaging and interactive way. I relate to your story a little - when I came to America (for my husband's job), I had left a well-paid high level job, here, I had no job, no work permit, no car, in a suburbian subdivision with not even a grocery store in walking distance. I was stranded. The mall was a half hour walk, to I trailed there everyday. That doesn't fill the time. I also started watching UA-cam (and volunteering and going back to school), but for a time, it was a way to keep my brain cells entertained. Keep doing what you're doing! Mad love 😄❤️

Loved this video! I have to say, I watch your channel for every type of video but one thing that drew me to this channel was makeup news. I grew up living with various grandparents and I loved to watch the news with them so it’s nostalgic for me, but watching the real news is often so negative I had to stop because it was causing anxiety. Being able to watch your makeup news fulfills that nostalgia I have for watching the news with my grandparents and it’s a bonus that I love makeup and genuinely enjoy learning about everything you share!!
