Ive Been a heavy equipment mechanic for over a decade, ive never seen someone use surface tension down a transmission stick. Maybe thats a well known trick in the automotive world but, color me impressed 😎 keep making gold content brother, thanks for helping keep trails clean and open.
Stuff I usually put transmission fluid in takes a few dozen gallons of 30w from a lube truck. But I've d!cked around with a skinny funnel on personal vehicles for a long time too lol.
15:09 mark...Rory fills the Jeep with transmission fluid WITHOUT any funnel and blows people's minds; then later he reads the comments and thinks to himself, "I guess I was supposed to use a funnel. Huh, whatever." Lol
Great seeing Mater back in action. To the untrained eye it looks like Frankenstein and Bigfoot had a baby. The most unstoppable wrecker (and driver) on UA-cam. Love that rig.
Rory (trail mater) is the only off-road recovery company who often goes out for a recovery mission without any backup rigs. A tremendous display of courage and dedication to his work. Kudos Rory the Irish. 👍🏻
The difference lies in being in cell reception or not. A lot of the areas where Rory operates (that are marked trails) are in reception, so backup is at hand. Once you go outside range though, he has backup with him.
Rory doesn’t always have backup available on some of these recoveries his confidence in himself and his equipment is what allows him to do these recoveries w/o backup.@@RandomName100
Rory's laughter is different when Lilli is on his right hand compared to the Dirtbilly Boys. A more precious joy. Cherished instead of fraternal. Sorry Mike and Shawn, but I SO MUCH MORE appreciate being along for those Lilli moments.

I think that machine belongs to your red rock desert area now, and long after we're all gone and its rusted away, people waiting for a recovery- if they listen out carefully - will still hear the sound of that engine, the clanking of its suspension and the rattle of its chains. Back in the 1970's I subscribed to Peterson's 4 Wheel magazine. I remember one article that I was pretty excited about. It was about a modification to the axles and wheel bearings so that you could change the air pressure in the tires from the cab. It was pretty cool, but I never got a chance to give it a go.
It is amazing how fast Lilly is growing and she has become quite a good little camera person. I have told you this before but once again it a shame you weren’t a helicopter pilot!!!!!!! Keep them coming Be Safe Theron

My Dad showed me that when I was 10 (62 years ago) and I showed my Son too. Comes in handy in a pinch.
