Warning Got the weigh-safe truetow gen 2. Found out it will not accept my trailer coupler because the ball is too close to the receiver.
Well hello My name is Stuart. I live in Naples Florida. I am using my wife's UA-cam channel, so did you ever get the shocker weight distribution airbag hitch up and running? Whatever happened with that? I have heard it is a fantastic hitch. I actually owned a shocker standard 12,000 lb receiver hitch that I use on my newmar motor coach and it made a real difference. As far as what I was telling my featherlight 24 ft trailer with a golf cart on it and a Jeep renegade it really did. Do a great job now. Supposedly it does a great job with the weight distribution and when you have a hitch as far as giving you a smoother better ride, I am looking at going back to hauling some RVs out of Elkhart Indiana in the future and I would like to maybe get the shocker weight distribution airbag hitch. I would use it a little bit differently. I would be using it to haul some campers commercially travel trailers. I would love to talk to you about this. This is a good hitch. I just never don't think you ever updated on this???????????????????😮
Hey Stuart, the Shocker hitch is definitely on the agenda. Quite frankly I haven’t towed a ton this summer. Keep in mind this channel is not a large, professionally produced tv show. It’s just myself and my experiences. Sometimes things take some time. Thanks for your understanding.
You hooking the Shocker to the Weigh Safe Heavyweight?
No 😕 It isn’t compatible
Come on @genyhitch. Get him The Boss Torsion-Flex! @GENYHITCH
I personally went with the WS Middle Weight Hitch for our first hitch (was looking at the Equalizer originally) because of your videos and couldn't be happier.
You make great no BS content and I've learned a bunch from them. Keep up the great work, and I think it's awesome that B&W is stepping up and sending out an eng to take a look at their product in the real world.
The Amazon link don’t work. Thanks
Which Amazon link?
@@WanderingWeekends I just checked it again and the one for the shocker hitch don’t work for me anyway
Cory,
You can thank me for the referral. I talked at length with person at shockerhitch about the product. I then asked if they were familiar with Wandering Weekends. She Said " no". I explained that you have vast and fair history in testing hitches.
A week later I called and ordered mine. She Saud that they were sending you one because of my referral.
This works with many WD hitches including EQUALIZER ( mine) Fastway and itheres. I believe the Anderson one will not work.
Great people at Shocker hitch.
BTW I am not affiliated with Shocker hitch or the entire industry for that matter.
I tow a Flagstaff 30ft Super-lite and am hoping to minimize the discomfort my wifes has with some roads due to the horizontal load abuse of mostly concrete highways.
Ron
I sincerely appreciate that!! I’ve had so many ask me to review it. I’m glad it’s finally here.
I believe they publish a compatibility list on their site for anyone looking.
Hey, thanks for telling them about Cory. I would love to hear your take on the shocker hitch
I appreciate your reviews. We actually bought a Brooklyn bedding mattress thanks to your channel. Personally I have a pro pride hitch and wouldn't use anything else. But I do appreciate the other hitches you're sharing. People need options and it's great to have someone educating folks about what their options are.
I usually just refer him to bill collectors when they call. 😂
🤣😂
Have one with my blueox, downsized mybars from 1500-1000 and it seems happier
I've yet to see this hitch in action so I'm looking forward for the review. I researched a bunch of hitches and used your channel to decide on one. I settled on a ProPride and it's been fantastic.
This hitch seems similar to my Gen-Y setup. It also replaces the shank of my WDH and it similarly dampens the ride. Instead of air it has rubber absorbers. I love it. It really improved my setup.
I need to get my hands on the Gen-Y!
@@WanderingWeekends Come on @genyhitch. Get him The Boss Torsion-Flex! @GENYHITCH
Interested to see how it works anything to make a more pleasant towing experience it’s worth it
Cory - have you ever tested towing without a WDH? IF so, what are your thoughts? I have a 2800BH with a 2017 6.2L Superduty and have been seeing people on youtube lately without a WDH.
Yes I have. I should do a short video on the matter. In a nutshell I'll always use a good WDH.
We have had one of these pretty much since we have owned our travel trailer. It does seem to separate the truck and trailer and you can hardly even tell the trailer is back there over bumps. I feel that it does help because on certain roads I would have thought that stuff would have been thrown everywhere, but it has been great so far.
I am very interested in hearing where you land on the B&W Continuum. I just about bought 1 2 weeks ago after a ton of research, a very large amount of research coming from your channel thanks!, but I have decided to hold off on getting a Continuum at this point for 2 reasons. I want to see how you ends up after working with B&W, and I'm curious about how it will bolt up to my new trailer my wife and ordered. We ordered a Rockwood 2517S wich is 26' total length and looking to be picking it up in late May. Our tow rig is a 96 Ford F350 4 wheel drive 7.3 longbed. My main concern is will the Continuum system fit without needing any modification to the trailer. It looks like some folks have had to cut a notch from a horizontal bar under the propane tanks to get the proper clearance for the ram on the Continuum. I would really be bummed if I can't get the Continuum to fit without major trailer A Frame modification. I just really like the idea of the simplicity, low weight which I really like, quiet running, can leave on to back up, performs well, no grease or heavy bars to deal with, etc. We pick our Rockwood 2517S up in late May. I would really like to know if the Continuum is a good fit for the trailer. Honestly it appears to be a goof fit for what I'm looking for.
My biggest concern is getting the Continuum on without having to modify the trailer A Frame. If so, I really feel B&W is missing the boat on this one as there are a lot if Rockwood and Flagstaff trailers that will probably have the same issue.
Please update your results with the B&W engineers when able Please.
I sure will!
B&W makes excellent products. But, who is else is going to have B&W send an engineer out to troubleshoot their setup? Seriously.
Well, hopefully they can troubleshoot on camera and then have the video to share with anyone else having the same problem I had.
I recently watch your top trailer hitch reviews. Can you provide any you recommend that will allow tailgate usage?
First time rvere. Really need your advice, since my truck is fighting the trailer all the way down the highway.
I have used mine for more than 2 1/2 years, run 82 pounds in the bag, best damn thing I bought next to the E4 for weight distribution and sway. My wife use to get car sick going over bridges, etc, not anymore.
I have high hopes for it! The design definitely makes sense.
@@WanderingWeekends On a f150 I added the airbags with compressor and that worked well, but this is just so much easier. One bag to inflate and the ride is outstanding once you have it dialed in. It's pricey but it's made solid. 18k miles on mine and still outstanding. Just keep it greased before each trip.
I know a guy pulling his trailer to Montana this summer and could give you some good experience reviews for this hitch. 😬🤣
Let us know how it goes man!!
Very anxious to see and hear the update from you and B&W. I have my hitch will live with it, especially after the $$$ investment. I continue to watch your videos as I want to be informed on towing and you offer so much insight and options
Its well built and did a great job on the previous trailer. I hope they can fix the issue.
That looks like a Star Wars hitch! I'm looking forward to your review on this hitch. Also I appreciate your honesty on the reviews!
I appreciate you being here!
Funny, I think it was just your last video when I asked if you have tested one yet.
I am very, very interested in how it works out for you.
I have a couple of other people I am watching who are running one and so far they like it.
I am running a 1/2 ton Chevy, with all the towing options and a 23' trailer, even when I had the 3/4 ton in front you could always feel that little bump bump bump from the trailer pushing you. I really want this hitch to work out, I think it would be the answer.
Interesting to see how they have noticed you little channel Cory. Honest opinions based on real life testing mean more then some of the other crap out there. Way to go!
I appreciate the compliment! Looking forward to sharing what I find.
Looking forward to the update review and subsequent full review. Seems like the airbag will partly or entirely obscure the view to the ball from the rear view cam, but maybe the horizontal bag hitch configuration I see on their site takes of care of that?
I wonder about it obscuring my license plate as well. I believe that = a ticket here in GA. I’ll have to hook it up fully to know for sure.
I’m interested in the shocker, looks like it will work with my Camco R6. Thanks for doing these hitch reviews. Stress free towing is really important to us on our adventures.
What is the difference in the red Shocker hitch and the black one you have ?
Different models it seems.
I have not heard of the shocker so i’m curious to see what it actually does and what benefit it has.
I hope it makes a nice difference.
Any chance you'll review the Gen-Y weight distribution shank?
I'd love to but no current plans.
@@WanderingWeekends that's what I'm considering adding to my Fastway E2 WDH setup.
Subscribed thanks to this video randomly reaching my recommended feed. Long story short: I'm hauling a 34' TT with a long bed dually w/factory air ride, and getting more porpoising than I care for. Not anything that feels out of control, just less than ideal if that makes sense. I'll probably upgrade the truck shocks first (still has oem, which are always sub-par), but not quite ready to drop the 4-digit money on a WD hitch. But, I'm looking into it and appreciate the range of reviews you have. I did find and view your B&W negative review, but will get to some more later. I'm a fan of B&W, currently using their stow & go hitch. After I gasped at the cost LOL the Continuum looks interesting. I'm looking forward to digging into your other video reviews. Also a shout out to others commenting: best audience I've seen on any UA-camr content! Good information with enough detail to make it worth reading.
Which Reese?? I have been wondering why you hadn't had a Reese in your lists at all yet! I had a Reese Steadi-flex for 6 years and had no issues with it, and for my next hitch I got the Weigh Safe based on your reviews. But I was always curious how the Reese Straight-line functioned with those cams to keep it inline! The Steadi-flex just has brake pads for friction but those cams look great in concept and I am curious how they do on actual 30ft or 8000# trailers in winds.
It’s the old school Reece Draw Tite I believe. I haven’t even had the chance to fully unbox it yet.
@@WanderingWeekends Well maybe in the future then. You can be the first non-etrailer reviewer of the Reese Straight - line!
It would be nice if all you youtubers started talking about Frame Flex . Want to help RV people or be silent ?
Thank you
It appears that this hitch has a pivot point at the bottom and the air bag at the top. That pivot will not provide any vertical movement. Trying to wrap my head around exactly how it will function and perform. Looking forward to your next video on it. This would be a great hitch to compare with the AirSafe as they both have air bags.
Very cool Cory is there going to be a option to run different equalizer hitches other than the Reese thanks
Yes! They have a full list in their site.
@@WanderingWeekends right on thanks Cory 👍
Looking forward to hearing what B&W says!
Me too! I actually hope they find some way to fix the issue.
@@WanderingWeekends Yep like I've said before the hitch has been OK for me, not always comfortable BUT the people at B&W have been awesome to deal with.
