  • We Started an Engineering Revolution in the NEW Timberborn Update! Today we're playing the brand new Timberborn update that adds the toxic badwater - water polluted with dangerous nuclear waste that destroys everything in its path! Timberborn is a city building game where we control a civilization of beavers whose only job is to survive in the wilderness and rebuild civilization from scratch after humans destroyed EVERYRYTHING. Can we upgrade our beaver kingdom into a perfect beaver civilization?

    About Timberborn
Mankind turned Earth into a dry wasteland and perished, but some species adapted and evolved. Pick one of the beaver factions and see how long your colony can last.
    Beaver societies
Control one of two beaver factions: the nature-friendly Folktails or the industrious Iron Teeth. Each faction has a unique style, buildings, and gameplay traits. Choose what fits your playstyle!
    Wet, dry, and toxic seasons
Prepare your settlement for recurring droughts and waves of toxic waste. Stockpile on food and keep fields and forests alive even after rivers dry up. Rely on both natural water sources and artificial irrigation to keep the land arable and your beavers safe.
    River control
Beavers of the future have millennia of experience in water engineering. Put up dams and floodgates, dig canals with explosives, and reshape the terrain to your liking. Use your wit to deal with the noxious badwater and bring life back to the wasteland.
    Lumberpunk
Turn timber into sophisticated machinery - from water wheels and sawmills to engines and mechanized pumps. Wood is the core resource in Timberborn, but the most advanced structures require metal. To find it, send your scavengers to the ruins of the old world.
    Bots
Supercharge your colony with mechanized beavers. Power them up, maintain them, and you'll get extra efficient workers for almost any job. They operate 24/7, and you can send them to the most hazardous areas.
    Vertical architecture
Create a thriving beaver settlement using a vertical architecture system. Space is limited, so stack lodges and workshops on top of each other, construct platforms and bridges, and set up a power grid for your growing population.
    Day and night cycle
Build a multi-district city with efficient production chains and nighttime activities. Follow the lives of individually simulated inhabitants throughout their day and celebrate when the next generation is born!
    Well-being
An evolved beaver's lifestyle is not just "work, sleep and chomp on wood". Satisfy the needs of your rodents with a balanced diet, decorations, monuments, and more - on top of keeping the colony alive.
    Map editor
Play on one of the included maps or create your own and share it with the community! With hills of different heights, ruins scattered in the desert, and all life depending on access to water, each map poses a different challenge.
    ...and more!
Ever since the project started, we have been improving the game and adding new features based on community feedback. We’re making the world’s first beaver city-builder so if you want to carve it with us, hop into Timberborn Early Access!

3:34 Yeah, you're probably gonna change it to floodgates soon, not really the right use for levees. Levees are used for directing water, like building a reservoir separate from or larger than the river, or narrowing the river to get more speed and power to the water wheels.
6:58 connected buildings share power without the need for a direct shaft connection
9:22 They'll know for the most part. If it's more complicated beavers could get stuck, but they're pretty good at building down in straight lines.
16:12 the game doesn't take into consideration the pathways that will be made after building the first object (levee)
19:13 the tile count is from the district center. It's a slightly outdated mechanic since there are no more district limits. It indicates that beavers may be traveling too far from their housing, food, other job locations, and amenities to get a good night sleep or all their amenities. If their work location(s), food, housing, and amenities are closer than the district center, then the tile count can be higher. If they are further away than the district center, the tile count should be lower.
I've been trying to catch up on your videos after a change in work schedule, but I'll have to pick this one back up later. Thanks, Twisted!

35:11 I'm so glad you caught that. Don't worry, reorganizing it was all worth it. That area could also be good for bad water processing. If you're low on gears, making stairs and platforms over the shafts works as well.
43:37 this is an acceptable distance in my opinion for just one district. You need to be secure in food, water, and excess workers to make another district, especially if that district is lacking the way to get resources.
      Great video, thanks again!

i find it helps with beaver management to set your hauling post to slightly less than neutral priority or even lowest priority. that way if you run low on workers, they dont stop pumping water or farming or something that is absolutely crucial. instead your hauling slows down and it makes it noticeable that you need to create more beavers.

Twisted, I love watching you play this game! I hope you keep these up despite the viewership comparison to ohol

suspension bridges are for high gaps, so you dont have to built a bunch of platforms up like 6 blocks high.
However, instead of a bridge, you should just build stairs so they swim across the river. Getting into the water is actually a moral booster for them, so its both cheaper and beneficial. Underwater farming in your new lake would be good too, until the badtides come in with this setup.
On that subject, youll want flood gates asap. the badtides are brutal and you need to be able to divert it away from your whole area. I built floodgates in the rivers single chokepoint past the single-block wide obstructed channel by your tree farm. During drouts you can keep the whole area between spawn and the water spawns green with just your damns, plus one there.
Also.. production buildings will transfer power through touching walls, you only need one power connector touching a single production building if you build them all directly next to eachother. Edit: i see this is a style choice by a later comment you made in the video, and i commend that lol. The gears are cool

My guess is platforms are better for low height crossings and maybe suspension bridge is for high peak to peak areas. Seems impractical for now
