Oh Michelle I was hoping to have that video up soon but instead I’ve decided to wait to use a bigger saw so I don’t destroy the opportunity to showcase that dragon Thunder egg by cutting it on a tile saw haha! Buuuuuuut some of the other cuts and polishes turned out beautiful so fingers crossed it’ll be enough to tide you over until I get the big guy cut 😉

Well good day , I absolutely had a blast watching your video Jesse . I laughed quite loudly when the fish frightened you , lol, that has happened to me several times . On a different note , the wild dog situation is a very serious matter and in fact I myself have been chased twice by wild dogs 🐶 while riding my bike through the countryside. It was a smart move to remove yourself from that situation and to get out as soon as possible. Good call , stay healthy and safe my good friend from the other side of our planet, much respect and love mate 👍 ❤ ✌.

But man that would scare the crap out of me. It’d be heart breaking too because I love dogs, but these dog were let down by people and now have to fend for themselves. Sad really, but still, even more so, scary!!!! I can’t believe how crazy some of the stories I’ve heard are about these dogs. Very smart and so easily reverted back to wild instincts.

Oh my goodness, so many wonderful fnds. Thank you for taking us along on your journeys and discoveries. It's almost as good as being there, but not quite. Yes, going out in numbers is safer for many reasons, but creatures in the woods is only 1 of them. Thank you again for sharing. Blessings
sure glad to see you out and about. Actually, it is good to see anybody. We have had windchill to -18F and has not been over 20 for days. We also have about 8 inches of snow which is very, very rare for southern Oklahoma.No hounding, no lapidary going on here lol. So glad you have so much enthusiasm for our hobby. You're doing a great job. Keep coming back and havagudun mate.

I had to giggle at your walking stick.. only because I recently used that exact piece of pipe to stick out my window... fill it with bird seed.. and watch it pile in the snow.. lol.. That’s rad that you used the same pipe for the bird feeding, what a great idea. I found it in the creek and then was carrying it to take it out and thought I might as well use it as a walking stick. It also makes a super cool rockhound horn when you blow in it but I edited that bit out hahaha!

I could see it had plenty of cover. We could see it in your face, it was scaring you. Hey when in doubt carry Hornet and Wasp spray, spray it in it's eyes . It will bring down the biggest of animals, true facts. I can't wait to see your cutting of all your fine gems.

No wild dogs here to worry about, but mountain lions are a pretty new thing here in Michigan. Once in a while when I'm in a very remote part of the U.P., I start wondering if there are any around and it freaks me out a bit. I wouldn't mind seeing a bear, but I only want to see a mountain lion from the safety of my vehicle.

I hear you bro, I am always looking around when hounding for mountain lions here in California. Not that an encounter is often but with the wildfires we have had thats driving them out of their habitat, you never know... safety in numbers it is. Happy Hunting 😊

So many awesooooome rocks here! I really liked the jasper at 2:30 and that mossy agatey rock with red botroidal goodness, that was absolutely stunning! I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for and watching your videos, like presents! Rockhounding in paradise! Interesting how the Carnelian is only surface and doesn't go through the whole rock. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets spooked while rockhounding. The fish and pack of dogs! Sometimes, I swear a ghost is following me on the beach 🤣🤣🤣! Awesome finds as always!! Those wild dogs kind of sound like the wolves we have here. I haven't really had any problems with wildlife so far but I have gotten pretty close to a mountain lion and once with a black bear. you really have to watch your back sometimes and even look up every once in a while. It's so easy to forget about your surroundings and end up walking into a bad situation. Anyhow Take care and stay safe out there🙂
Bro, you got those cougars like we have here in Oregon; They scare the hell out of me because once you know your being stalked, it's usually too late.
@@TheRogueRockhound Yea they scare the heck outa me too haha. Most wildlife knows we're there before we even get to see them. The thing is when you're hiking up loud creeks nothing can hear you. That makes it very easy to surprise something that doesn't like surprises. The only time to be worried is if they feel like we could be a threat or if it is a sick or distressed animal.

I love editing for sure; i just wish i was better at it😅 ive been slowly getting better the more i do it but there is definitely a lot to learn; my really early videos are super rough to watch😂🤣. Also doesnt help that my computer is like 9 years outdated so it hates the big processing load of my project videos with a passion😂 i usually have about 24-32 hours of rendering time for every video😅 might be time to upgrade the rig...and dude thank you so much! Hi Jess, another good video, some great looking rocks and your and your bushcraft skills and heroics are only slightly surpassed by Russel Coight.😂😂😂.😂.
If it was wild (feral) dog or dingo tracking you, they tend to be pretty quiet and don’t tend to make a lot of noise when hunting.
However some of ground dwellers however can make a bit more noise however, beasties like the ground stomping “Paulie”, the noisy blade wielding “Benwa” and of course the smaller but ever present rock cracking “Rhonda” do tend to be a bit audible when chasing their prey of choice. 😜😜

I really like watching your videos, they’re so serene. I feel as if I’m rockhounding with my mate, lol. Today, I had to laugh at myself though, during the bit where something seemed be following you in the tall grass. I gasped and was like “ Oh no, get out, get out ! ” Then “Dah !” 🤪 I realized the video was a year old. 🤣

Ah my brother down under, thanks for sharing another post as always! What a relaxing video to watch my friend~ (at least until you sketched out off the sounds in the grass-Doh~)😬 I know they've got crocs down there somewhere, apparently not in that creek tho? 🤷♂️ We have a few critters up here where I hunt like rattlesnakes, scorpions, mountain lions and bear so wear snake guards in the desert and make plenty of noise in the forests but that's about it. (the rocks don't scatter from a noisy rockhound but they may hide?) Successful hunts are very cathartic and emotionally fulfilling IMO.🧐 I've had hunts that were so crazy that when I laid down to sleep later at night, I just kept getting memory flashbacks of agates, jaspers etc from the day's hunt dancing around my head in a frenzy until drifting off into dreamland~ Thanks again my friend, hope you and your family have a super rest of your weekend and upcoming week~ talk again soon! Haha! Oh yeah, I fully sketched myself out hardcore that day hahaha! I also managed to scare a couple who didn’t realise I was in the creek. I tried to make as much noise as possible and said g’day real loud before coming out of the bushes but I still managed to scare them. It wasn’t till I had so awkwardly introduced myself that I realised the lady was top less... let’s just say she freaked out almost as much as I did even more awkwardly than I had introduced myself haha!
I gracefully explained that I’m safe and only looking for rocks and with that I slipped back from whence I came as embarrassed as they were I’m sure... hahahaha! I didn’t think it would have been good to put in the video though. Haha 🤣😂🤣😂

My wife said she's never seen anyone get off to rocks before referring to me, lol. Cool mushrooms towards the end. Damn glad you got away from the wild dogs, and the humor about it was great.
