DIY LED Truck Bed Lights Under Bed Rail

DIY LED Truck lights made easy! This strip of truck bed lights mount under the side rails of my 2015 F-150 with a 6 1/2 foot bed. These are great LED cargo lights that can be mounted in bed of just about any pickup truck. I also installed a waterproof 12v socket and duel USB port in one of the factory bed light “blanks”.
This LED truck bed lightning system works great for trucks with or without a tonneau covers. (Sometimes spelled tonno cover). With a few modifications it can be used for overland truck applications as well.
These LED cargo lights are “Indirect lights“ making them great for loading, unloading or even camping in the truck bed. Having the ability to use a 12v socket in the bed of my truck is great too. It literally turns my truck bed into a phone charger.
The illuminated “on/off switch“ is a nice addition because I can find the button in the dark or under the tonneau cover during the day.

Great install. My only two gripes are that you have the light on in the switch (and maybe also in the USB port?) On all the time. That is a parasitic load that you don't really need on, and the fact that you put the on switch upside down 😂😂😂. If you were to wire a magnetic switch in parallel you could have it so the lights turn on automatically when you open the tailgate.
