Beautiful Slot Canyon in Southern Utah

Wire Pass Trail, located about 8 miles off House Rock Valley Road, a scenic well maintained dirt road 1 hour east of Kanab, UT, at 3.7 miles round trip, is the perfect day hike. For the first mile of this trail, you walk along a stream bed between low sandstone cliffs. You then step into the slot canyon and you are in for a treat. We enjoyed the beauty of the light streaming in from above and the quiet solitude. You will go in and out of slots for about 1/2 mile, and then the cliffs open up wide. This is where Wire Pass and Buckskin Gulch intersect. It had rained the day before we hiked Wire Pass and Buckskin Gulch was too muddy to hike so we had to turn around.
