Jeep 4 Dirt
United States
Приєднався 20 бер 2016
If you like off-roading in the Southwest, welcome.
We left the flat plains of Chicago for the mountainous deserts of Arizona. We love doing what our 2024 Jeep Rubicon, with its 17" tires and 3.5 inch lift, does best; traverse rocks and dirt. Many out of these trails and destinations are out of the way and lightly traveled.
We travel by ourselves. We exit our comfort zone, embrace risk, test our skills, and often our courage.
We hope to inspire others to boldly go where they have never gone before.

Exploring the Rock Waterfall on Senator Highway
I just found your channel. I did like and I did subscribe. I live in the area and like to see which trails I might like to drive. OnX gave that trail an 8. I generally don't go above 5 when I am by myself. How much ground clearance do you have on your Rubicon? I have my Wrangler JLU Sport lifted and on 33 inch tires. That gives me about 10 inches under the front diff and 12 inches at the breakover. That one section where you were practically climbing the wall would give me pause. Was it the most difficult part? I will enjoy catching up on your previous videos.
Hi, Welcome and Thanks. Actually, OnX gives Turkey Creek a 5 which is the same rating as TrailsOffroad. The hardest part is just past the staging area where u descend to the creekbed the 1st time. We took the left option which is harder and I needed to pay more attention bc we rolled quite a bit but then corrected. OnX notes this part of the trail as a 6. unfortunately I did not look at OnX beforehand. We run 37s, with 3.5" lift and I think we have about 15" but I don't think ground clearance is a big problem on this trail. For that sort of issue pls check out our Smiley Rock video which has some difficult rock gardens. I would not do Smiley Rock on 33s but this trail should be ok with the normal caveats about good line choice and careful tire placement. The obstacle u refer to is actually not that hard if u have a good spotter. If ur not careful u can roll over a drop-off to your right but u just have to be careful to avoid that. The video shows that had I gone much further to the right it could have gotten ugly. Of course, if u go too far to the left there can be body damage. I just kept as close to the wall on my left and went slow. Hope this information helps.

We were on it about a month ago and it has seemed to have deteriorated some, there is much more of a ledge to start on now.
What type of a vehicle were u driving and is it modified from stock?
@@jeep4dirt 5th Gen 4Runner, modified 2.5” lift, skids, sliders. It handled it with no issues but I was surprised to see the waterfall. Stock 2wd with high clearance used to be able to handle that road years ago. I’m sure they wouldn’t make it now unless they were winched acrossed it.

Thanks for sharing the info! We had a day of off-roading planned for one of the I'll areas that had opened, then it closed again due to another fire a couple of months ago. We'd bought the pass then couldn't go, so I'll check out the map link you shared.

Ever been on an easy trail that unexpectedly turned dangerous? That happened to us when the trail was partially blocked by an abandoned car causing a steep and scary drop-off with only inches to spare. Turning back would have been easy and probably smart. We decided get out of our comfort zone.
Where ya camping? As im always looking for nice Remote camping areas?
We camped at White Spar campground bc it is close to Prescott and has several hiking trails at the campground.
I run 3" RC lift and 31x10.50 wheels and I would Attempt it in my '96 XJ! 😅
That Is Perkinsville Rd and you can run an everyday car on in as i just ran it 10 days ago!

Likely stolen. 🤷♀️
Possibly. Another possibility is that someone was trying to bypass about 5 miles of traffic and construction on I17. Fortunately, the driver ended up in the ditch as opposed to going over the drop off. If u liked the video pls consider subscribing to see our ongoing adventures. Thx and have a gr8 day!
Freedom from what? Reliable transportation?
We have owned 2 Rubicons and they have both been reliable on and off-road.
Some good comments in here but never wheel by yourself. Go with at least one other rig so that you can work together if needed. A class or learning from someone who has experience is, IMHO, the best option.
I believe that responsible adults should be free to do what they want to do with the obvious exceptions like illegal and unethical actions. A jeep is the ultimate freedom vehicle and if u want to wheel alone and are prepared to do so, just do it and ignore people who say NEVER. Wheeling alone like all sorts of adventurous activities done alone, for example backpacking or mountain biking, yields unique benefits in building confidence, having fun, and tremendous feelings of satisfaction. Obviously you need to prepare for the unlikely situation where something goes awry. If u want to wheel only in a group that’s certainly fine if it is your choice and not a knee jerk reaction to someone telling u that wheeling alone is wrong. Your jeep, your choice.
You guys sound awesome. Of course I'll subscribe. Love that trail.
Thank u for your comment and for subscribing. Hope you like our other videos. Have a gr8 day.

@@jeep4dirt thought I recognized it ! Did u head East to Soap Creek Tank and the 3000 ft view East over Lee's Ferry?
@@rubiconadventurewithscotty3258 We did not bc we did not explore that far bc our trip started on the North Rim and we did not have enuf time to go further east
How long did it take to complete the loop? How were the temperatures (ambient & engine fluids)?
It took about 5 hours but u can do it in less if u don't fly a drone etc. The air temp started out around 85 and was about 105 when we finished. I did not check engine/fluid temps other than 2 view the main temp gauge which remained in the middle of the normal range. Thx for watching and commenting.

Looks like a great trail. Run it South to North? Looking at OnX map....not sure how you got to it, without going on Terminator, Boulder Creek or Tip Top access rd, (which I thought was closed)??? Have a track/gpx?
Do u have the Funtreks book? It is Trail #37 in the book.
@@jeep4dirt Thanks for the info. Yep, got the Wells book. But that's #37, "Black Canyon City Overlook" trail (also known as Road to Nowhere), the "Backway to Black Canyon City" is a different trail, on West side of 17 starting up by Upper Terminator, then heads North. "Overlook" is generally rated moderate, and "BackWay" is rated easier.
I renamed the video because I realized that the title can be confusing. Thank u for bringing the problem to my attention. BTW, TrailsOffroad has the trail listed as Moores Gulch, although only as a scout route.
Love the new Jeep! Looks great!
thank u!
