I came here to confirm to my wife that people peel mushrooms. I have since learnt that it is not a thing and she has threatened to leave me if I keep doing weird things like this.
Chefs are taught not to wash mushrooms. If you use a damp papertowel to remove any surface dirt then peel them (and don't put them back where they were when they had dirt on them, you don't have to ruin their flavor and texture....if you care for a tip. :)
@@devinalexander and still are the Chefs cooking skills like crash i rather prefer someone cooking my meal know what Tradition is than someone who Triest to make it look and taste "perfect" a chef shouldnt be teached... the best food ive eaten is from someone who does it their way and not by the "tips" people like you give because "EvErYbOdY iS dOiNg It WrOnG" the things you use in your kitchen btw are not tasting the way they should because they dont come from mother nature itself... like ever eaten a real tomato rather than those things we akk buy at the supermarket? Taste realy different and it's sad that nowadays the "normal taste" of food is basically nothing else than the shit they inject into those things to make them longer lasting/better looking... like with cucumbers a real cucumber is never straight btw...
thats insane. mushrooms only suck in water if you take off the skin AND soke them for like 2 minutes in water witch dosent matter if you cut them in any way(slice or dice). even if they do soke up water its very little also also if you buy mushrooms from a supermarket they are ALREADY washed (even if they are not packaged) this is a stupid waste of time
Life is to short to peel a mushroom.
WHY would you peel mushrooms?? The skin doesn't taste bad and doesn't have a bad texture.
Very tough so your infancy like me
I may never peel a mushroom but it's nice knowing that i'll watch this when i do
Who came here to actually learn how to peel a mushroom and who came here to confirm that this was a thing?
I came from a Reddit video 😭 (Video: "What house rule did you have as a kid that you thought was normal until you grew up?")
@@todoroni1065 OH wow really? I came from that video too!

You’re supposed to wash your produce before you peel it anyway.
