Yeah, I love them Old TigerStripes they make one Hell of a Mama Cow and you put that Charolais Bull on them you got gold my Friend. I run about 500hd in South Carolina and Georgia We use Charolais and BeefMaster Bulls.
One thing I love about sorting cattle is all you need to really know is how to read them and their movements. Once a guy figures that out they do most of the sorting for ya. Makes the job so much easier. Good video.
Ya geez 14 years old is still a running age cow for us 😂. Had a 22 year old cow have twins last spring. Great video! Love the yellow calves u getting off them braford mommas.
We have had cows reach 17-18 years old and we bred them with sexed semen and got another generation on the ground. We don't stop working with them until they fall over dead, that is if they produce a top notch calf.
@@arielthepom no, we wouldn't. That's not the vegan ethical philosophy. The vegan cause is not to use animals for our own benefit at all. We don't make horses carry us, we don't go to circuses or zoos to be entertained by caged beings on display, and it doesn't matter how long an animal is kept alive before it's chopped up - they shouldn't have been bred into a captive life in the first place.
So cool, you work with your Dad at the ranch. Nice Cattle and background music with video. Awesome!!! Superb editing. Keep up the superb job your doing man.

Heath Lamprecht they do. I believe some we didn’t raise and had for 14 years ourselves. Thought we would keep some of the “younger” ones but after looking at their teeth it was an easy decision.

@@TheFarmGuy It cool off some in South, Texas (Corpus Christi, Texas area) 68 degree. Nothing like you guys up north. I'll get that venison beef jerky sometime next month. You can share some of it. Trust me you probably hide it. Lol
I just saw this so it's my first of The Farm Guy videos these are beef cattle, right? I saw 1 or 2 bulls so mostly older cows and a couple older bulls being sold/or slaughtered.
Today is my first day viewing your videos and I enjoyed it. Watching it I wonder if you would not work less if you had additional gates along your alley to the truck. Just a suggestion.
You should send these cows to a good sanctuary. There they can live nicely. Why you are sending them to die ??? They don’t want to die ! They want to live their full life . Have some pity for your cattle ! If they lived with you long time you should have love for them !
You guys know nothing about farming. These animals ARE NOT PETS! That’s how beef products are made. It’s just a part of life, not everybody wants to go vegan.
Not answering for him, but for us, the cows have a job, and of they aren't performing, chances are they will be culled. For example, if they didn't breed back, if there were health problems, maybe her milk supply has dwindled. Maybe she is a great mother, but her calves don't measure up. Maybe the farm doesn't keep the older cows as a rule, preferring younger, vittles animals, or changing the breeding program. Lots of factors to consider. Good question!
Why does it pain me to see him get rid of those few cows with such beautiful tiger stripes lol. They'll be turning into some real good steak and burgers though.
I was thinking looked like north Texas area. Was interesting video. Sad for the old cows, but seems they had a better life than many cattle out on Texas grass. I eat meat (not a lot), but best to realize where my hamburger originates.
Johnny Davis not all of them, just this set that was getting up there in age. Brought a bunch of heifers to the same place a while back so they’ll all have more grass to graze before the winter.
@@TheFarmGuy That's awesome. I was planning on moving from west Texas to central Texas and running charbray and brangus, but wasnt sure if charloias cattle do good down here but your herd is evidence they do.
So sad that these cows help produce profits by producing dairy products and milk. When they are older and unable to produce, they are killed for meat. I know this is the usual business, if I were a multi-millionaire, I would have a huge sanctuary for all the older dairy cows so they are given the happy good life they all deserve because they are the means of profit for farmers. We are vegetarians and have chosen out diets because we love all animals.
marianne90240 these cows had nothing to do with dairy products or milk. They raised some dang good calf’s though! If you were a multi millionaire that might possibly be one the quickest ways not be a millionaire.
You need to watch some videos of Temple Grandin demonstrating an easier way to herd cattle. You are wasting so much time on something that has a relatively simple solution. For even more results purchase a Welsh Corgi or a Border Collie.
I would have gave my left you know what for something even close to the funnel you guys have to get them in the coral. I use to have quite a few horses. Got rid of then all and bought a four wheeler. Four o’clock in the morning I knew where the damn four wheeler was. Never knew where the horses were It was so dark some mornings that you could only find them when they snorted at you.

Get yourself a short gate, that's just long enough to fit up the alley, to get behind the cows and crowd them onto the trailer. Works everytime for us
