I just love the intelligence and teamwork of your dogs. They seem to know what to do without many commands. The get stuck in with relish and enjoy the work.
It's a real joy to watch good dogs working. A lot of people don't seem to understand that's what these dogs are bread for. Too many people have dogs for pets and don't spend the time to train and work them. You don't need to have cows, just spend the time playing/working with them and they will be happier and love you all the more for it.

People say give a Heeler a job like ; picking up toys or walking the kids to school or going to the gym twice a week. Those are activities. A working dog are with you 9-5 working and with you the other 16 hrs being your fuzzy kids.

For some reason, the cows do NOT want in that trailer. Doggies got a different opinion. "You're going into this trailer, one way or another." LOL 😆
Them trailers got bracket you can put some panels on, and make a chute. Makes it much easier. Your trailer always seems to be too small. Dogs did what they needed, just seems you need a better set up.
Yeah a cute or run would be simple only needs to be but one span and some hay in the front of the trailer they’d probably walk right in without the dogs, that’s the way it’s done back east anyway..some people are hard to learn
They might be buying these cattle from someone without them. They might have broken fence and in an area under repair. Millions of things could be going on. I ain't no rancher or farmer, just slow to criticize the hard-working people that feed me...
P.s. them dogs may not be the most modern things, but they will always have purpose. That's more than a lot of people got.
Thank you for sharing this with us what a treat that I have received by watching these well-trained loving dogs I know they are treated with the utmost respect and fed the best that most humans can never even imagine but they are precious what you do with them just shows how this breed of dog can continue to exist
How these dogs don't get killed by all those kicks and horns is beyond me. And when they are giving their best without being hit or crushed they may get sprayed with sloosh anytime (like at 4:00). Whatever reward these workers get, they deserve more.

Collies were literally bred for years to do this. Not only are they incredibly smart but they are also very high energy so this kind of life is actually better for them than say living in an apartment. They need constant mental and physical stimulation in order to be happy. It's another reason why people use border Collies in high endurance very technical competitions because their drive to please and to learn is so high. The only thing that's concerning is when the cows kick or trample them they could probably get really hurt.
Need more room in the truck. Also, for arguments sake, they wag their tail, looking down the barrel of a shotgun, too.

Good dogs but the need a real cowboy to help them out a little. It ‘sposed to be a team effort. Dogs are smart. Smarter than their owner. Took him 2 1/2 min minutes to realize there was more room at the front. Didn’t do anything about it but he realized it. I would never put my dogs in that position without help them.
You will never have dogs of this caliber beings you are willing to do it for them.

No. The trailer was slightly down hill and the cattle had not moved all the way to the front

I have a certain blood line and there are specific traits I look for
Certain cows are breed for a reason just like dogs are breed for a certain reason
Absolutely terrible harrassing cows like that, they will abort their calves and under perform as beef animals for years after sort of treatment. Very bad stockmanship for the owner to allow this abuse.

Do you move your cattle often enough that they ever figure out that they are going to end up in the trailer anyway, so it's going to be easier to just get in pretty quickly?

Don’t like cattle getting hassled like that , buy a bigger trailer to allow the livestock more room easier loaded or go back one more time for another load , in my experience the cattle are just harder to work with .
