I am getting this lens this week - Santa was good to me. 🎅 I have gone entirely to the P series lenses in my Kit bag. I have the 45P and 75P and love them all. Just keeps the kit light and flexible. They meet all my needs. This lens with the X-Pan crop is made for each other in my opinion. Hasselblad has struck gold in my mind with these lenses giving you quality without sacrificing it. Just lets me focus on my subjects and the images are second to none.
Great review! I just got this lens and find it excellent. Some owners are finding this lens to not be on par with other XCD lenses, but I am extremely pleased with my copy.
Great video and pictures. While staying with my Oly PenF & 12mm combo (probably quite the opposite of what you are using) still interesting, entertaining & just good fun!
Hoped you enjoyed your trip to Portknockie to see Bow fiddle rock, your shots are purely outstanding Mark. Really enjoying your headshot photography course at the school of photography. Thanks again
F4 stands for just 4 kg, which is ideal for street and travel photography. You can leave your main tripod at home and use some smaller one. Sell your gym membership, let the streetphoto be your gym from now (and you will need some extra cash to buy this lens anyway)... Ok, I came to joke about medium format streetphotograpy idea, but I have to admit that I admire the beautiful pictures you shared. I also love the vignette of this lens, looks very pleasing to my eyes :)
nice video! however I have a question about the reactivity of the camera during a street photoshoot. is there a delay between the moment we cant to take and the photo taken?
hey mark. I'm getting an x2D with the 38mm lens in the next few days for a damn good price. Is it worth buying the 28mm lens or should I invest in the 90mm as a second lens? greetings from berlin ;)
When you photographed the carousel, I saw that the X2D's display showed SSD B0001535, the serial number of the photo. Can the letter B at the beginning be artificially modified to the string required by the photographer? Thanks!
The 28mm focal length is my go to FAVORITE focal length...you can shoot a little bit of everything with it! Here you are with my favorite focal length with my dream camera body...mocking my PAIN. 😩 🤣 😑 Great video, great shots!
Impressive. On that camera body, that 28mm lens is the equivalent of a 22mm. It's way wider than I could get away with. I don't think I would be comfortable with anything under 35mm. The XCD 38mm could tempt me, though. It's the equivalent of a 30mm. It's very wide, but not unmanageable... probably.
28mm is still wide for me, I checked the price wow, it costs a kidney 😅😆 nice shots! congrats on the lens, I could never afford that, not in this lifetime lol I cant believe you're not using a strap my god thats a very very expensive camera!
Yeah, 28mm is really wide, and on this medium format camera it's the equivalent of a 22m, which is kind of freakishly wide. I'd be interested in trying the 38mm (equivalent 30mm), but even that is a bit shorter than I'm comfortable with.
DJI's attempt at marketing expensive Hasselblad lenses as fast focus, action ready, street photography gear. Dude, it's just a well, all around camera and lens. Landscape, fashion, industrial, marketing, portrait and leaf shutter flash sync advantages. Make a 35mm full frame, high pixel count with leaf shutter in a smaller lighter form factor and I will buy it. A modern Zeiss Ikon - mirrorless Contaflex.😊
I always wonder why XCD lenses have the smallest glass Realestate on their lenses. Either a medium format system one would think glass surface should be bigger.
@@chloescanlon1107 what great advice 😂 I only heard the medium format focal length. If the 35mm equivalent was said i apparently missed it. I’m poorly familiar with the system to do the math for 35mm equivalent.
This is Chinese glass. How long will it work before it breaks? Up to f8 the quality of optics is not suitable for landscapes. Compare with the old 30mm lens from Hassel. These are two different worlds in terms of quality. Yes, 28mm is light and fast - but the iPhone is even faster.
Are you serious? The MTF looks terrible. Even at f/8, look at all the astigmatism. This could be a good street photography lens for shooting wide open, but this is no landscape lens, unless your definition of landscape photography is uploading 1MP images to instagram.
Yet another advertorial. For 15,000 dollars Why is sharp at the edges seen as an achievement at f14. The backlash against fake reviewing on youtube is growing. We look forward to the day when real, Genuine reviews are the norm. If that ever materialises.
28mm does not sound strange at all for full frame shooters. That’s a classic focal length and it’s even one of Leica’s strong sellers

HASSELBLAD and ROTOLIGHT - you are in the photography paradise !
Mark: your reviews are always so entertaining and informative! Just superb! Thank you for posting them.
Thanks so much Robert. Glad you're enjoying the content....stay tuned...more coming soon!
Great review Mark! Thanks for showing the portrait capabilities of the lense, been searching the internet to see how it performs in that field.

Hi Mark, awesome review! Could you share which brand of your tripod u using? Looks nice and compact. Thank you!

hoy conocí tu canal, extraordinario, muchas gracias por compartir tu trabajo!!!! ❤
Fantastic 🎉
Very interesting, thank you. How fast is autofocus ?
great 👍
Great Video!!

I'm thinking of selling my Leica gears, the image quality and usability of X2D is on another level. Keep up with the good content!
Same. Seems like the right balance of everything... and an IBIS
nice video. QQ: where is that arch?
Love the 28P. Do you have a problem with the X2D sensor overheating when doing street photography or studio work?
Please bring more this kind of videos more
hello, I wonder which camera and lens you use for this video? 😀 One of best blog video 4k picture, detailed, i saw at this time. Thanks in advance
Damned Hasselblad, their gear is always so good. ;o)
great images from that. As I have the 4/21 already, and also the38V, there's no need for this. Despite its 1/2 the size of the 21! Size matters !! LOL
Try the Leica Q3 with its 28mm 1.7 and macro function, would love to hear your verdict in comparison
Gracias campeón!!!!
Hi Mark. Big Fan of your work. How fast is that lens?
mine is in transit, arriving in few hoursssss, for once we can have a lens few days after annoucement and not monthes

Does this lens take advantage of the 7stops IBIS of the X2D 100c?, I’m hearing that it doesn’t… love your videos!!!
great!
All day looking at Hassleblad youtubes... c'on!!! Camera + 28 + 90... a bargain!!!
Do you turn off in body image stabilisation when you use a tripod?
That tiny front element around that huge enclosure is sort of funny though. Nice IQ.

Man, ive really tried to forget about this camera.. DANG YOU!
What is the len size for shooting car magazine ?
6:27 Maybe use the viewfinder for this rather than trying to wing it with one hand operation at arm's length?! ;)
신형 35-75 나올 때까지 존버 중...내년에 출시 예상...하지만 그냥 28 + 55 조합으로도 괜찮을 듯..

How to arrange zone focus?? As Outside of this lens there is no scale…
Does it do video?

So what focal length is this in 35mm?
22mm

Factor 0.8
It’s a 0.79 crop factor, which makes it equivalent to a 22mm (as he said in the video).

sorry but that vignette and corner sharpness was awful! lol
I‘m a bit shocked due to the hard contrast and the overweighted blacks… Thought the hasselblad is a fine art production system
