We recorded this video a couple of days ago, and, of course new information about the new edition has been leaked! Meaning, most of this isn't as relevant now, but more of a case of how well we can predict the future 🤣 But we still hope you enjoy 😄
I would like some dedicated legendary legion boxsets like the battlehost boxes. Especially for the factions that are expensive to buy an equivalent like the Hobbit films range.
Leaving my comment for the algorithm. Awaiting the changes in the channel you mentioned recently, where 1 week is a stream, the next a video. As you well measured, I had been watching the streams, then liking, but not rewatching the video form of that same stream. So, it makes sense to help grow the channel views with some mix of Live & prerecorded. Good luck & hoping it helps.
The way it sounds, the Alliance Matrix is completely gone now. They seem to be planning to do a legion that covers every movie appearance and for anything not on screen.....tough luck. Not doing a lot to encourage established non-tournament players to switch over. EDIT: Also, I find it extremely unlikely they would do a pre-movies legion for the Hobbits. They literally had Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took and just retired the model because "he's not in the movies."
@@krunoslav2658 We don't know specifics on what most of the Legions will be yet. There's a high probability that there will be a Battle of the Five Armies legion (or something similar) that will allow the forces you have to work together. That's a major scene in a movie and it would be rather foolish for them to omit.
I really wish that for combinations of fun and competition that custom play were more advertised. This way, GW could showcase all the different factions of the game, and the units within them. Then you have tons of variety and customization when going up against other players. I do love the idea of legendary legions for thematic play, giving you screen or book scenarios with limitations to make things balanced and accurate, but scenarios where you have access to most of a faction's models and profiles would be greatly appreciated too. With the updated news, one evil legendary legion they mentioned was Minas Morgul, which is a great idea. Minas Morgul can kinda be seen as an evil City-State directly ruled by the Witch-king, though it ultimately is part of Mordor with Sauron as its Overlord. If I had constructed it, it would work as its own faction (that can ally with Mordor in certain scenarios) or a Mordor subfaction with unique units. I would have had the Witch-king (Horse, Fell Beast, and/or Mace option), Gothmog (the Lieutenant of Morgul), Ringwraiths (with Horse or Fell Beast options), Gothmog's Enforcer, Guritz, Morannon Orcs (listed as Morgul Orcs), Morgul Knights, Mordor Troll Chieftains (listed as Morgul Trolls), and Shades (I usually associate Barrow-wights with Angmar and Dead Marsh Specters with Mordor proper). The main force of Morgul trolls and orcs have similar armor designs and are more elite, combine that with some awesome cavalry, flying monsters and undead units fitting for the Dead City, your good to go!
From what I've seen from the leaked lists, they're kinda hit and miss for me. Some restrictions do seem needlessly strict, but I do like how some armies with fewer options get some interesting rules to compensate. I think a lot is going to depend on the third book and even legacy lists to bring more of the "what-if" scenarios (because to be fair, a lot of the alliance matrix just ended in optimised soup instead of fluffy theme lists). As for actual lists I'd like, 4th age Glittering Caves with buffed Gimli and Eomer with a mix of classic dwarves and foot Rohan sounds perfect to me, a lot of potential there in the new style imo.
Honestly sad, the legendary legions don't really excite me, I would just rather create my own list, especially because some legions cant field all the models, for example, Faramir cant field Courtguard, I just like building my own list, cant really do that anymore.

Meaning no more alliance at all? As i just bought iron hills and thranduil halls... So that is not option to play anymore?

Yeah it’s a huge shame that it’s the only way to play. It essentially removes any “what ifs” which has always been a huge appeal of the game
